My perception is that the high kicks are part of his "individualizing" JKD. My understanding is that if you have strengths from other martial arts, or just something you're really good at, incorporating it into the core JKD routine is completely acceptable. The guy is obviously a great kicker, so why not?
i thought that in jkd there where no high kicks (correct me if I'm wrong) didn't bruce lee compare high kicks to punches to the feet? looks great though, and good for flexibility,...
This is brilliant! I have been looking for a class which studies this kind of interaction around arm movements! If anybody can refer me that would be wonderful.
Awsome vid as always. And it just amazes me how powerful those kicks are. And your students seem just as skilled. Your an inspiration. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
I dig all the angles it helps for someone like me hwo learns all they can from many subscriptsions and like I siad I like all the camera angles in this particular vid for example in the upper corner, and underneath the dummy, I liked it.
at 4:45, was that choke applied using bone of the forearm?
if so, that would cut off the air supply, right?
im sure you already know this, but the other variation(which is popular in UFC) cuts blood to the brain...you just have to place your elbow in front of their chin to do that.
...i also like to grab my shoulder rather than the back of their head. i then expand my chest and arch back...no arm strength required.

Another excellent video. Nun-chucks are not a my favorite, flashy but not enough damage for a weapon.

@nyarltep lol what your right the are flashy. but if used with the correct stance and speeed...they fucking hurt.
i prefer, either stick fighting or ....nunchucks.
