@Jodcob the book is called Nami No To (Tower Of Waves)..it was published in 1960, and ends with two lovers committing suicide in Aokigahara/Jukai...but this forest has been known as a place where the lower class used to bring their elders, and would leave them to roam the forest by themselves and die, up until the 19th century

Interesting, years ago I could never understand why someone would end their life. Today after a back injury and being sick of all the nepotisim, cronyism at work and being unable to support myself I can kinda see why people would want to kill themselves. This is what happens when despair outweighs your coping mechinism to deal with complex issues.

If everyone with mental issues and depressions committed suicide there would be more happy people in society and less downer types. I suffer from severe depression but refuse to take the poison mind altering drugs doctors push and I refuse to suck the system by receiving a disability check. My suicide is planned already.
