I suggest checking out the "Minecraft Awesome" server for your top servers bit; every week or two they come together for a "Build Challenge" and create entries around a weekly theme. The only downside to the server is most members need to donate to join, but maybe if you contact Fraser (the Admin) he might let you on pretty quickly. If you want to see what they do, the channel is "farfromsubtle".
