  • i have a question how to i make the video in full screen i forgot how. because when i create a movie it only shows it in the middle instead of full screen

  • save me buying a new graphis card

  • cann u send me thiis software?? (mediafire) iif u will lemii no:)

  • What is the rockin music here?.....Anyone know the artist?

  • not good program why heavy my pc 1gb ram.... :(

  • When I use SmartProxy there seems to be no differance between the playback of the regular and the proxy file. I can go into the proxy directory and manually pull the file into the program and it will playback fine. (Just to insure that my smartproxy settings were good.) I'm in Instant Play mode, but it seems to only be using the original file. Any ideas?

  • I need urgent help!

    I have VS PRO X 3

How do I export HD for 4:3 video?

All the HD exports are for 16:9 vids and they just "stretch" my video...

    THANKS!

  • is it free????

  • Is what free?

  • Great tutorial! I have a quick question. Would enabling smart proxy help the audio? I burned avi to wmv and asked technical support why the audio was choppy and this is what he told me to do. But viewing your video confuses me now. Great tutorial btw, but from what i gather, it only helps with editing speed? Am I mistaken?

  • Thanks, the smart proxy only helps with editing speed if your pc isn't quite up to scratch, it's great for editing HD. I'm not sure why your audio is choppy though this has nothing to do with the smart proxy feature. When you capture your video (I think you use mini-dv because you use AVI, but correct me if I'm wrong!) do you have dropped frames? This can effect the audio. Does your audio sound ok when it is on the video track?

  • Hi, can i burn HD footage to a DVD? how? i have the same software and trying to make a dvd from Kodak zi8 footage. appreciate your input.

  • If you are using the dvd in a normal dvd player it won't play in HD, you have to down convert to standard definition. You can burn hd to a dvd but the folder structure has to be correct and it will only play on a Blue-Ray player that supports AVCHD DVD

  • wow, glad you done this tutorial... ! i learn alot with it ! big thanks...now i know why my CPU usage go crazy when i start a big edit job with HD... so it mean we should wait till the proxy compression job is finish before we start the project...to really benefit from that feature... THANKS

  • When you put the clips on the time line it should start the Smart Proxy automatically. Check by selecting the Smart Proxy Queue manager it should show your files being processed, make sure Smart Proxy is enabled

  • how didi you make it full screen i need help.

  • What exactly do you mean?

  • wer diid u download corell 4rm

  • I didn't!

  • does anyone know how to get a Dazzle DVC107 to work with Corel x2 or x3

  • Try going to the tools menu and selecting device control, you could also try changing the capture plugin, if they are not present then you probably can't use this capture device with Corel Video Studio

  • awesome! my laptop can edit the .mov files this way! thanks for explaining this!

  • @aboyandastang Ok matey! no problem, glad it helped you

  • so the proxi is the converted low quality video ? or is it the one its gonna be used ?

  • @YoungBucksFather Only the proxy file is of low quality so you can edit it without any problems, it doesn't effect your original video

  • i tryedto create asmart peoxy but it failed

  • It should create a proxy file automatically, make sure it's enabled in the settings

  • i did

  • Does it edit ok with your spec?

  • maybe its a limit of how many gb it can create ? i tryed a HD movie more than 2 gb

  • Try spliting your video into smaller clips, it might help

  • Hey hey need help really bad with this, now finished editin a video with this program.., but only geting the option to save is a .vsp file , if i wanna convert it is there anyway to do this?? Help thanks...!!!

  • A VSP file is just a project file, select the share step and then create video file, you will then have the options to render your project

  • and when i create video file , will the real HD files be used by default ? or do i have to ?

  • @2PacsFather The original HD files will not be altered, the proxy file is just used for editing

  • are you part of the team who made this program ?

  • @2PacsFather No, I'm not that clever! My job is a driving instructor

  • ye you are , so what are the basic graphics that a corel x3 will work on ? i have a celeron D 1.5 GB ram

  • They recomend Windows XP with latest service packs installed, Intel Core Duo 1.83 GHz, AMD Dual-Core 2.0 GHz or higher recommended. 1 GB RAM (2 GB or higher recommended) and 3 GB of free hard drive space

  • i have

    - intel celeron 2.53 ghz

    1.5 gb ram DDR

  • You could download a trial copy and see if it works with your spec

  • i did

  • is this smartproxy equivalet to preres and cineform standards ? can I use a Red giant plugin magicbullet in this version ?

  • You can only use plugins designed for Corel made by New Blue. The smart proxy is Corels own feature, I'm not sure about Cineform Standards

  • and how can you save it as an AVI?

  • This tutorial is for creating Proxy Files which makes it easier to edit HD Video

  • John, tried this, at first it didnt work, I found out that you had to alter the "settings" under the smart proxy dropdown to a lower res than the original video...

    Great series BTW>> very helpful

  • Yes, you can alter the settings manually, but if you leave it on auto it should do this when you click on create Proxy File :)

  • what do you mean ? by useing smart proxy you lose quality on the resolting video ? how do i set the proxy resolution ? are you good with this ?

  • @2PacsFather It will set the resolution and do it automatically when you add your video to the timeline, just make sure smart proxy is enabled

  • Thanks John for providing these interesting tutorials, 5/5 ! !

  • Many thanks Edward :)

  • @johnboy1uk why are u so young man ?

  • ulead wont exept bluray files ... file format mismatch ... how can you fix it ?

  • Do you mean from a disc or a camera?

  • i have a quick question. This is very useful video btw..I have the Panasonic HDC-SD20. And corel editing as well. After editing the HD video, what format should be the best to export at without losing the quality of the video.

  • @popking161 Hi friend, try looking at my tutorial for creating 16:9 Hi-Def videos for YouTube, you might find it useful!

  • I found that tutorial absolutely essential!

I just purchased this product after a two day trial and it is fantastic. However, these tutorials showcase some of the most powerful features hidden behind all of the customization (customisation)menus,

  • Thanks, I do hope you find the tutorials useful, I will try to do some more in the New Year

  • nice video. I have don't have to do that because my core i7 920 with 8GB DDR3 triple channel memory edit and cut thru AVCHD like butter. But your video is helpful to the less powerful computer.

  • Why does my video still skip even thugh i turned the Smart Proxy on?

  • Hi, make sure the Smart Proxy files are being created by right clicking on your video file and clicking on create smart proxy file, it does not allways create them automatically

  • You can tell if it created a proxy by noting the "film negative symbol" on the clip. If it isn't there then right click and create the proxy. Check the proxy queue by clicking on the proxy icon in the middle of timeline icons to see the progress of converting. You can check for created proxy file here by clicking the File Manager from the proxy popup. I've noted that long proxy clips (+3 minutes). Seem to edit better if break them up into smaller clips.

  • is this rendering? xD cuz i use dis video editor

  • Hi, no this is not rendering, this feature makes it possible to edit HD Video without any problems

  • oh... thanks anyway xD, i must find out how to render....

  • Check out my other tutorials, there is one for rendering in HD

  • how do you get the videos in to HD? can you make a video how to do that , please :) I would appreciate that , and all the others :)

  • Bro you need commentrarie on your Tutorial explaining in plain english what you are doing it would a lot easier then reading your text

  • @guymac70 I disagree on the commentary. Love the music. I hit the start/stop button to see what he writes. Besides, a lot of commentaries are not very well rehearsed and do not convey the meaning well. They raise more questions than they answer.

  • Thank you so much - what an awesome tutorial!!

  • Thanks for the comment, much appreciated!

  • How could I get high quality videos for youtube? High Definition would also be appreciated

  • Thanks dude, you ROCK!

  • Well, many thanx!

  • No problem, glad you liked it!

  • Nice video John!

Just one question: When I close VideoStudio, it seems the connection between the project and the proxyfiles are lost. Everytime I open VideoStudio and want to continue working on my project, I have to create the proxy files again first. Do you know a cure for this?

    Best regards

  • Thanks, and yes this does seem to be a common problem for some people. Make sure the folder for the Proxy Files is not on an external hard drive or try creating a new folder and leave the Proxy setting on auto. There is an update, I'll send you the link in your inbox, that might cure it.

  • Hi.

I use corel studios pro, and I save my video under HDV - HDV 1080i -60i (for PC)

and its a 2 minute video, and every time I upload it, its like in slow motion..

    Please help!

  • Hi, you need to convert it to another format and de-interlace it before you upload to YouTube. If you look at my other tutorials there is one for 16:9 HD videos. A lot of people have told me they have issues when uploading with this preset that you have used, it is not really suitable plus the files are very large. If you use the other method on my tutorial you should not have any probs and the quality will be fine

  • thanks a lot!

  • GREAT VID John.... quick question... what configuration settings are you using? Autogenerate proxy template or do you customize it? Thank you

  • Hi, and thanks for comment. I have tried the custom proxy tempate to see the quality of the different settings but I just leave it on auto. The tutorial was just to show what the proxy files could do in helping you edit Hi-Def content. The proxy files work very well, have you tried them?

  • thx John for the quick reply. The proxy files are created on a specific folder on my computer, but that doesn't mean I have to copy/paste those files from my computer to the timeline, right? What I understand about smart proxy is that you select the files on your video library, select 'create smartproxy file' and once that is done, move those files from your video library to the timeline... and then they would have a better preview and no lag, am I correct?

  • Yes, it's all done automatically. When you import your clips into the library it makes the proxy files. You don't have to do anything. When you drag your files onto the video track and preview them they will playback smoothly but the preview will be a lower resolution because it is using the proxy file. When you do the final render all the changes you made to the proxy files will be transfered to the original HD content

  • Thanks for all your help John... I was able to use the proxy files and it does improve a lot the preview work.... Great tip, thank you again.

  • No problem mate :)

  • Thanx john.......

  • No problem friend, glad to help.

  • I have one more question. When we set the smart proxy settings to 352 X 240 that allow us to do smooth HD editing but when we burn the content on the Dvd that will be in good quality like the original video resolution we have or not??

  • The proxy files are only used for editing because AVCHD is very difficult to edit. when you produce your final output it will be high quality. I hope this helps

  • John,Thanks for replying me but please do me a favour, I only use Corel Video Studio X2 for editing HD videos I am very inconvenient editing the HD videos dont know how to make a video file and How to burn it on the Dvd with the same quality I checked your all the videos in your channel but din't find the exact one.If you could help me I really appreciate either you send me the process or send the related video link(if it is on youtube).

  • Hi, I will try to answer your question. If you want to play the dvd in a normal dvd player or dvd recorder the HD content will be down converted into standard def mpeg2 files it won't be HD its impossible. You can put HD Content onto a dvd in AVCHD format but the folder structure has to be written in a specific way and it will only playback in a Blue-Ray player that supports playing back that format, I think most of the later ones do. Corel Video Studio will do this

  • great video but please help me how to burn the HD video on DVD with combination of Normal resolution Video files in HD quality.

  • Hi and thanks for comment. If you look on my channel at my other tutorials you will see one on how to create a standard DVD out of HD content. The DVD will only play on a normal DVD player or DVD recorder. The software that is used is the Panasonic HD Writer software that only comes with Panasonic HD Video Cameras

  • what a nice bunny ^^

  • He is nice!

  • Nice one. I Would like to know what's the best option when I have to create a video file to upload my video to youtubee. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the comment. To be honest the Youtube preset that comes with Corel Video Studio is a bit limited and is not in HD. What I do is create a video file of the final edit using the HDV preset at 720p-25p for pc and then encode the file to mpeg4/h264 in TMPGEnc 4 xpress. This cuts the file size down and still retains the quality of the original file

  • Great tutorial of this awesome software, I have one problem though wich I cant find in the manual.

I cant set the videofile to start lets say 5 sec into the timeline. It goes back to starting point. How do I do that??

    5*

  • yeah... it work with me.. TQ

  • Glad it helped you!

  • :)

on the way upload HD vid.. :P

  • I'm pleased that you like the tutorial, I hope to do a few more it's just finding the time. Just to come back to your question, if you click on to the Storyboard View rather than the Timeline, start the playback and then stop where you want the clip to start. just above the Timecode you will see a pair of scissors and to the left what looks like brackets. Click on the left bracket and that will mark-in the start of your video, you can do the same to mark-out the end of the clip.

  • Good job on the tutorial. However, you might need to run a spell check on the title......

  • Thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake, well spotted!

  • Do you use this software for all your video editing?

  • I do have other editing software but this is what I use for Youtube and to be honest its very easy to use with a nice simple interface and you can edit HD with it. I encode the final edit with another program called TMPGEnc 4 EXPRESS which I find gives a better quality output than the Coral program

  • well; thnx.. this one is usefull!

  • Thank you, I hope to do some more tutorials soon when I have time.
