  • Regarding the Tim Burton "Apes" movie, I like to think it was yet ANOTHER alternate reality not really connected in any direct way to the original series. This is because we see that humankind keeps trying to travel in space and time, keeps getting caught up in time warps, and creating alternate realities, and there is a predestiny that, no matter what happens in any reality or alternate reality, it is man's destiny to be dominated by apes one way or another. That's all this movie is for me.

  • Regarding the "Planet of the Apes" TV series, I like to think it took place in the future of the alternate timeline that Cornelius & Zira created by going back in time. I think a long time in the years after Roddy's Caesar's rule, corrupt gorillas and orangutans eventually took over and it wound up almost the same as the original movie except that humans could speak and were more useful as slaves and SLIGHT:LY more respected by some apes than in 1968's movie.

  • It's just sad to see a film have such a huge budget, but lack in story or good direction. I really think they should've just just made a 5th sequel, and probably made three more films after that and should end where the first Planet of the Apes begins.

  • Nice ending to the review, pretty much sums up the remake.

  • Tim Burton hasn't made a good movie in like 15-16 years.

  • POTA 2001 was very over-hyped. This should have had a chance to really think it through. The production and design crews and make up were very capable.. this film lacked a script and a director.

  • what? this movie was awesome. wtf sare you talking about.

  • Arnold swarchznegger's Planet of the Apes? WTF?

  • will you review the tv series

  • Okay so I know when mark walberg goes back to "earth" its inhabited by all apes,.....WTF!? did I miss something? this film was supposed to be like a remake or reboot but im so confused, how did the apes take over the earth?

  • @MadridistaFG7 No idea! Makes it no sense!

  • @donpfeff some stupid people say Rise explains what happens in Tim Burton's apes. But I'm smart and know Tim just screwed up apes.

  • @FallingRockAlchemist People thought that? Rise is obviously a prequel to the ORIGINAL minus its sequels.

  • @MadridistaFG7 apparently if you read the writeing above the statue its says that Thade the bad ape went back in time somehow and started the revolution

  • @MadridistaFG7 @donpfeff The crazy ending in this movie is inspired by the orginal novel Planet of the Apes in which something quite similar occurs. I'm not saying this movie is good, but there's an explaination for that ending if you read the novel :)

  • james cameran and peter jackson would have bine much beter than tim burtons film even though it was ok

  • I'm surprised you do not have the Planet of the Apes tv series on DVD. I do. I purchased the box set a couple of years ago.

  • Which movie do you think is more accurate to the book?

  • I wouldn't mind POTA 2001 Tim Burtans released a sequel to tell us WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!

  • God narrator. try to emote.

  • I liked the 2001 film. The main character was cool for me, and I got all the references. Though the ending was confusing, you don't understand how the apes get intelligent, and you don't get the same ape law stuff like the originals.

  • I think this guy is in love with roddy mcdowell

  • @etchosts It's possible.

  • Why we are at it we should all just say alfred hitchcock was an awful director because his movies were old...

  • The ending pisses me off on so many levels. More stupid and impossible to explain like the original five.

  • @Djnuttty It was the same ending in the book, but it was actually explained.

  • @LeeroyDT um there's nothing there to indicate that the dialog and acting 40 years from now will make the current films look like trash and laughable. i made no mention of the effects in planet of the apes...just the crappy makeup. avatar has GROUND BREAKING EFFECTS, just like the original king kong...with that said the original kong had some horrendous acting as well.

  • I know i'm going to get a lot of hate mail but...i like this movie.

  • @legodarknight101 I hated it, mostly. They DID have a more accurate idea of ape behaviour than in the original movies, but aside from that in my opinion it sucked. But I'm not going to hate on you because you liked it, we can't all like the same stuff :)

  • @VinnyMonster1 I agree it nowhere touched the original is greatness, but there was just something about it that i REALLY liked, I don't know what it was.

  • donpfeff, I have watched all of your Planet of the Apes review and thoroughly enjoyed them. They are intelligent, informative, and interesting. Very professional. I am surprised you don't have more views.

    Great job!

  • I don't really judge movies and I when I saw this on a show a couple months ago and it was alright but, I did hate the ending

  • I like the Mailbu comic series. Try to check it out because in my opinion it serves as another good prequel to the original film as well

  • i realy realy like the the film; rise of the planet of the apes, nd i just want to know this, does it realy happen ever in history. as the film looks like ? wish you all the best from pakistan.

  • @Vinnie7683 wizard of oz was terrible, gone with the wind was terrible, cassablanca was terrible....i can go on and on...but these movies that are considered 'classics' are just hilariously bad. sure there were some great visual breakthroughs...but since when did visuals make a movie? i mean why aren't people orgasming over Final Destination 5 and its ground breaking use of 3d in horror movies? i mean, visually it made a break through...and as a result it should be a 'classic' too!!

  • @InternetAesHole What's your favorite movie? Or do you hate all of them?

  • @DrowningGiraffe I'll tell you my top 10 in no particular order. Shawshank Redemption, Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, Jurassic Park, Goodfellas, Terminator 2, Inception, The Godfather, Raging Bull and Lord of the Rings Two Towers. But i hate a lot of movies, if that's what you're insinuating.

  • @InternetAesHole No, just wanted to see what you liked.

  • @InternetAesHole dude, you fail so much that i could tell you how much you fail. comment back and i will rape using your own ignorance you sad, sad piece of shit. god damn you fail at life lol

  • @EternallyFalse Nice argument faggot, are you 6 years old? Do you foam at the mouth when you try to think? Do you wear a helmet when you go on the toilet to avoid falling on your cactus brain cranium?

  • @InternetAesHole the way you say that makes you sound like a mad 10 year old that got abused too much

  • @EternallyFalse Don't know many 10 year olds with an IQ of 170. I'm a fucking genius and MUCH better than you, troglodyte.

  • @InternetAesHole for you to blurt that out with cockyness doesnt make my view of you any different

  • @EternallyFalse who gives a shit about what a parasite like you thinks

  • @InternetAesHole hahahahaha. lol

  • I just watched the original one. I LOVED IT. I dont know why but i like a lot of older stuff. (the twilight zone persay.) Even if the effects are "bad" It always kept you wondering (even though it was predictable) But you know, the original is always better!

  • I just finished watching this and I agree with your review. When I originally saw it in theaters, I thought it was actually a good movie. But that was the first and only Apes movie I watched at that point. That said, I have no interest in watching the older Ape movies because the effects just look like crap and the acting seems cheesy as hell. That clip at the end of the review is worse than anything in the Tim Burton movie.

  • @NyRSoxFan84 The clip at the end of the review? You mean Heston pissed off finding out that it was Earth the whole time? WTF?! How is that worse than anything in the Burton version?!

  • @zombiederekfarris Basically I was saying what InternetAeshole (below) was referring to. The twist ending is cool but Heston's reaction is just too over the top.

  • @NyRSoxFan84 it seems like a natural reaction to a man finding out that his people destroyed their civilization reducing themselves to animals and turned an entire planet into a barren wasteland

  • @zombiefan011 No way. That's just as bad, if not worse, than Darth Vader's "Noooo!" at the end of Episode III.

  • Weird Charlton Heston died of Alchiemers And In the new Apes movie Rise of the planet of the apes they try to develope a cure for Alchiemers Weird

  • @InternetAesHole I respect your right to disagree, even though you're wrong.

  • @InternetAesHole sucked balls like most movies of that era? Dude, get the fuck out of here with that ridiculous nonsense.

  • @BuIIshitter YUP nobody in the real world nobody ACTS like how those clowns did in those movies. They never took acting lessons or anything, everything is over dramatized, the visuals are awful and done by amateurs. people just look back at those years, thinking it was riddled with cinematographic high art...but no, they're just pompous retards that want to act all holier than thou with their pretentious "movie acumen"

  • Comment removed

  • Respond to this video... So you're going to whine about "holier than thou" yet criticize this movie in such a hairbrained, fifth grade mindset? Yeah, that makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Although, I did heartedly laugh at "they never took acting lessons". Yeah, you've already established beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're full of shit.

  • @InternetAesHole a 10 year old boy...back to the room

  • @Psipunisher Shut the fuck up you troglodyte

  • @InternetAesHole so they made due with what they had and made acceptable and revolutionary advances in the film industry that ALLOWED us to view what we are viewing today. I'm sorry but this comment is completely ignorant. Think about the technology of the times and then rethink your answer

  • @thevoiceofreason94 i made reference to the terrible acting in these movies. talent has nothing to do with era's. this era of the movie industry was riddled with shitty acting. i mean if the cast of epic movie was in citizen kane, you idiots would be talking about how great of actors kal penn and carmen elektra were

  • @InternetAesHole internetasshole the acting in these movies were accepted as the norm for their time..... :p and honestly the acting was superb for a lot of the apes. This remake was a good movie in essance but it was lacking compared to the original by far in capturing the essance of this strange planet. You say that movies back then were over the top but look at the idiots that are in the acting business today. I mean..justin beiber can get a fucking part in tv series.

  • @thevoiceofreason94 bieber is a talented kid and a better actor than everyone in the original shitty planet of the apes. quit being a hater.

  • @InternetAesHole i'm not. i got nothing against the kid but he cannot act. his fame allows him to get parts bro because the public teenagers demand it. as for his singing. i won't comment on that since he has some good songs and he has some songs that shouldn't exist just like any other artist. now stop avoiding the subject and stop being a hypocritical hater.

  • @InternetAesHole your name is pretty accurate

  • @jack111sally cry me a river dick face

  • @InternetAesHole but im not sad :3

  • @jack111sally your tears taste amazing, bitch.

  • @InternetAesHole hah its everybody against you.

  • @sugarlipz96 its a video with merely 3000 views mostly from fanboys of the original shit fest...so yah i'm pretty sure you idiots will disagree with me. now go to a bieber video and say he sucks, pretty sure the majority of the people who watch that video will disagree with you. sheesh, so many fucking simpletons on this planet that just don't get it. am i the ONLY intelligent person on this planet? pretty sure when it comes to wisdom, i'm second only to god.

  • @InternetAesHole LOL go look at a beiber video people will be saying thaty he is gay. im not saying he is but im saying "wisdom" means respect for old times or past so ur not to wise if u think that old movies and past eras sucked. and if u believe in god then u will know tha the lived in an OLD era which is wat u are saying sucked so proving urself wrong asshole.

  • @sugarlipz96 silence troglodyte.
