I didn't realise Elvis did this live as early as 1970, so that was a welcome surprise. He is obviously in better shape physically and vocally but I believe his spirituality was still growing at this stage so I prefer the later versions of this fine gospel song. I hope he was worthy to enter through those pearly gates after his demise, I'm sure his mama put in a good word with The Boss on his behalf!!

I love this recording and really admired Elvis for a number of years, but there is only one version of this song that does it for me nowadays and that is by Mahalia Jackson who was probably the greatest gospel singer ever¬!

If I had but one song to listen to repeatedly after I pass...this would be the song. Sure there are some talented singers that have come and gone but E! has such range. Thx so much for sharing this rare take. I heard some folks really liked Carrie's recent rendition of this song...I'm sorry but it cant be compared to Elvis's version - no way.
