George is a good interviewer but I can understand your frustration a bit in this one. I guess the one thing I'd keep in mind is George himself is probably a huuuuuuge Pixies fan, as everyone should be in my opinion (but I digress), so he has to compose himself a bit, I suppose. It's literally like interviewing Lou Reed at this point. It's completely disarming to a journalist.

Don't know anything about the interviwer but he misses a trick after FB talks about telling Xfm about getting the Pixies back together and talking about a reunion. He'd have probably had an exclusive if he'd simply asked "Are you getting the Pixies back together?" - the glaringly obvious question there was to ask. You can tell FB is waiting to confirm it. But a nice interview anyway.

George Strom. isn't as great with interviews as he was back in his Much days but trust me, the guy knows everything about rock music. Bono has even publically acknowledged how knowledgeable he is and wondered why MTV hadn't picked up on him yet. (This was when MTV still played videos).

Also keep in mind that thus video was edited down which is why some of the transitions are awkward.

that guy is George Stroumbolopolous(sp?), and I assure you he has a very large amount of knowledge on the indie music scene, and has definitely heard the pixies a great deal. He was a vj on canada's equivalent on mtv. now he hosts a late night talk show in canada... before you bad mouth him, think about how much time letterman would give frank black.
