If not then research hausa states, sokoto caliphate, kanem borno,kwararafa im descendent from those great empires. The last great empire was the sokoto caliphate which came to an end in 1906 due to french and british intervention. This caliphate was africas largest empire ever and spanned 11 modern day countries.
