  • In my case

    I lierally have trouble doing freezes

    Even with my face planted

    I got the shoulder trick but just not enough momentum, its like im just sliding on the ground

    I think its my legs mainly, i cant whip them as hard

    They just stay planted on the ground

    Only true way i got to the stage with my back on the ground was the elbow drop, then the momentum becomes too weak for me to even go back to turtle

    They say practice makes perfect, it seems more like failure makes nothing in my case

  • haha dont lose faith in yourself

    a good way to practice freezes is slowly with your feet touching the ground. Find that spot and slowly lift your legs off. ill make another tutorial.

    But.. idk if i can say its my long legs or i just cant use my body to lift it up

    When i try to freeze in turtle my legs just drop

  • ok so im tryin to learn mills and i can get 1 pretty clean but i cant get into the second one. every time i try i just cant collapse on the second one. and i cant go higher on my mills cause i use to do them high but all that did was rip up my shoulder. i need help bad.

  • you want to try and get high on your shoulder, do that by tucking your head in. and that will naturaly make your back arch upwards. forcing you to go on your back. what might help too is to swing your power leg higher.

  • not as much, it depends on your intial whip, if you get alot of momentum from the ground, you can get alot of momentum standing.

    So far I do these things naturally without thinking about them when practicing. When I think too hard, that's when I mess up.

  • hi brother i really liked your windmills... i wanna ack you that i can do one rotation clean and smooth, but cann't connect for the other rotations. because when i come back to the starting position i donot reach up.. i couldnot raise my left leg up to kick my right leg under it... i also do clckwise... plzzzz give me a tip so that i could improve and connect my mills...

  • what might be your problem is you are not rotating your shoulders, that is something you must do and youll find it esier to go into your baby freeze starting position. try that and tell me how it goes.

  • think of drawing a BIG circle with your right leg, cause it looks like its stopping on your back. dont stop it keep it going, keep drawing that circle with your foot.

  • which leg? whichever leg that touches the ground, means that your moving that leg too slow.

  • you're doin a freeze at the beginning right? to start off the windmill? cant see it properly.

  • you dont really have to do a freeze, just stab your arm, and you feet can touch the ground. just get that initial swing and your good.

  • I already got my windmill down since my last post ^^ hehe, but the only problem that they still dont look like your windmills, I bend my legs a little bit when I restab and there is a tiny pause before throwing the next windmill.

    What do I need to do now? become more flexible?

  • when you bend your legs, thats a sign your not whipping them, its good that you can mill and stab, now you just have to learn how to follow through the stab. thats why i say roll on your shoulders cause it makes it smoother. work on whipping through your stab and it should be much smoother, flexibility really helps but you dont need to be flexible to do this move well.

  • got the collapse and i can get a full rotation but my prob is getting the the rotatioon on my shoulders instead of my back which keeps me from getting into the the stab again and doing another rotation. any tips on that xD? or is it just something i gotta keep trying until i get it ?

  • the way you get higher on your shoulders is you tuck your head in. look towards your crotch while you are whipping your legs, this curves your back and makes it easier to roll on your shoulders, making it easier to spin, ill revise something on this, keep updated.

  • get it down stabbed, then ill help you with the rest. to make it easy to restab keep your elbows close to your chest so that when you roll over you just quickly restab.

  • rotate your shoulders quicker, and roll on you back slowly to your shoulders, that should help you out a lill bit.

    I tried to windmill with restabbing technique like what you have shown, for like 3 months, but i just couldnt keep going, everytime i restabbed and finished the first mill my legs fell on the ground.

    My breakdance coach told me i should try to use both of my hands and push the ground without stabbing.

    what do you think i should do?

  • the problem is in your legs, you discontinue to kick them, when you stop your legs, the momentum that you gained from kicking them is lost and it is harder to go back into your stab, work on the whipping motion and remember to keep it going.

  • yeah but as i said after the second swing, when i go back to the stab my legs slam into the ground, like they are too low, therefore i lose momentum.

  • thats why i said in the toutorial to try to swing towards your face and dont stop swinging your legs after the first colapse no matter what. your arms are just support, but the most important in your mills are your shoulders, hips and your legs, they do all the work. Keep that pattern you did for your first mill continous.

  • like i said streatch before you practice them, and when you do practice them slowly. when you close your legs, that means that you are rushing them, take your time into it and youll get it. hope that helps

  • ay digimaster does fleixbility help with keep your legs spread out? cuz i got the positioning down but cant seem to keep my legs spread apart

  • Flexibility does make life easier in keeping your legs spread out. but in terms of technicality, you dont need to be flexible to have good windmills. the form and controll will come with practice. if you need to before practicing windmills streatch in a straddle for a bit till your legs are straightened out, that should help a little with form.
