Its funny because the views of Walt Disney are actually quite simalar from Adolf Hitlers views. We recently had to do an essay for homework about Hitler's views on Anti-Semitism, Communism and Democracy- (German democracy is what Hitler didnt want, and Disney didn't like the idea of a sort of democracy with in the Disney company) The views displayed by Hitler are also the views of Disney, kinda ironic seeing that they were against each other :)
I think the thing about him being racist and anti Semitic is probably true. However, at the time it was acceptable, not only in America, but across the western world black people and Jews were seen as second class citizens. So I hold no grudges against him for that. But over all, (and I'm not just basing this comment on this documentary by the way) I just don't think he was a very nice man. But hey, you get good people, and you get bad people in life. Although you can't deny the man did good.
Btw the facts in these documentaries are not only made up but are false and can be proven false. Go to the Academy Award website and look at their archieves you will see all the Awards Walt Disney got were for film titles not for "background design" This is pure slander. If you do research you would see the facts don't support this. No one has a reason to hate Walt Disney, this documentary was made people who got fired from the studio. They would love Disney if they still worked there.
the only reason why americans were really afraid because the communist parties of countries were put in power by force because alot of them were backed up by the soviet union though whenever america took out communists in other countries they have to make that capitalist though the reason why people thought that america was the good side because the communist were coldblooded killers
All men are flawed. King David stole a man's wife and had him killed.
Disney had flaws. He went through hell to build his company. He was double crossed by his distributor and had his first character stolen from him. That was business in those times. As was racism. Comparing Disney of 1940 to the 21st century is not fair. The founding fathers owned slaves. It was the culture of their time. Disney was a great visionary. And faithful to his wife. How many Hollywood people can say that today?
Those guys were really communist. No one ever talk about it but its true. Look at those angry America hating hollywood Jews. They are the ones harassing people.
Something so strangely republican about all those trials.
If Disney was alive today working on building his empire he would have been on FOX news, and been a valuable candidate of the republican small town Christian movement. You probably would see the Palin children at Disneyland kissing uncle Walt.
Reagan was at that communist naming conference too, along side Disney, and wasn't that a treat to see?
Was Reagan a Republican? Yes
Did Reagan become a Major political figure in CA? YES
Walt Disney was an asshole. That's all you can say. I wish he can come back to life and see all the AMAZING Disney classics that he didn't get to see and see how nobody is racist anymore and how there is a lot of princesses with different races and are still beautiful so he can have a heart attack :D
@DaisyFknMadeline Do you know anything about Walt Disney? Did you know he always wanted to make Aladdin? an Arab princess. Did you know Small World was a ride to teach the world we are all the same? It's actually a peace anthem. Walt Disney would LOVE the new movies they made, in fact people in the studio his family and animators who lived in his time made sure they can make movies in a way Disney would approve. Learn about the studio before talking.
@ckMC13410 Good thing you lived with Walt Disney to be so sure, right? :p You are taking the word of white people Walt Disney fired against the word of actual Jews and black people who worked under him and said he wasn't racist?? You're the one kidding yourself :p Fact you say :p Being pessimistic and hateful towards a cartoonist for children without evidence doesn't make you seem smarter, I know it's what you aim for, but you are failing miserably :p Realistically you all you have is claims
The whole reason why I watched this is because I love the company Disney, I love the films and animations, and I wanted to find out the truth. How do you know that other Jewish & black people have said he wasn't rasicist. If you was to watch the whole of this you'd acturely see that a woman who was part Jewish told how Walt displayed some rasicm towards her, your telling me all I have is claims, but wheres your proof? I'm not trying to seem smart, I just wanted to let out my opinion
@ckMC13410 Well for the Jews his favorites in the studio were the Sherman Brothers in fact everyone else in the studio was jealous of them. They saw him as a father. As for woman when his company turned against he took the workers that he trusted and loved the most on a good will tour, that team had woman in it, in fact she inspired a lot of the art they used. Watch "Walt Disney and El Grupo," "The Boys: the Sherman Brothers story," and "Walt: The man behind the myth."
@ckMC13410 One thing you need to keep in mind (if you watch the documentaries I mentioned) Walt Disney was demanding and the only people he ever said "good job" too were the Sherman Brothers. Chances are these people that got fired were just not good and their race had nothing to do with it. He worked with blacks, Jews, and Woman who said he's the kindest spirit. And these people were probably good at what they did. More people said good things about him, and these people weren't fired by him.
@edwardo44 The disney company is different than Walt disney originally dreamed it to be. He meant for it to be for pure christian white 'americans'. Nothing wrong with that, but once you start a company and invite people to come on board, you must respect that work that you bring on, otherwise you only want slaves, right?
@ckMC13410 Do you think this documentary was made with good intention?? It's made by guys still holding a grudge. It's senseless slander, and it's illegal in America.
@edwardo44 How else can you explain his hatred of the workers wanting to talk about rights for two months, and his brother getting results in a day? Walt chased an idea like a young girl's fantasy of marriage, but he was a tyrant who wanted people in his own image.
CONTINUED..........The fact that movie stars and producers were named in the witch hunts is silly because they are not about to give up their mansions and and millions. How does Communism even work in a capitalist society?? Does communism even truly work IN countries under Communist regimes? Most probably want out.
At "best", denizens of Hollywood would be Communist SYMPATHIZERS. No single individual can BE a Communist, all alone, by himself, without anyone else. Real Communism (which has actually never existed by true definition) is
the bastardized version of Communism that Stalin, Mao, Kim-Il-Sung, Ho Chi Minh, Castro and other communist revolutionaries used isnt
Communism would be the ideal way of politics and life, the only problem is humans r too greedy for hav a stateless, moneyless, classless society
humans think inwardly and only care about themselves, which is why capitalism is rife
