I think they get paid more because they have more training, plus the odd hours and the job being dangerous although they are required to wear radiation badges for safety purposes. I really want to get into this field. I tried to get into a program at the University of Mexico and they said you must be working as a Nuclear Tech to get into it. Well, that sucks but I am still going to pursue it.
Thank you- but i got advice that i needed to attend a 4 year university, have my Gen. Ed.'s, and Major in Biology, then persue Radiology, and then specialize in Nuclear Medicine? Its really hard to find sources on education for this field.
@krypekeeper she got 60 k right out of school, you do 2 years of internerning during school, esp if your classes are part time you can spread it out and get the exp during school
@krypekeeper mind you I only know this career worked out for a friend, but I think for her it was 4 years+ part time school while working, with 2 years of interning during last 2 years, I donjt know the details
NO JOBS! Stay away from Nuclear Medicine. Go into Pharmacy or Physical Therapy!
