@slaWterCH term 'resolution' is quantified by some typical screen sizes for example '30inch'. It gives the user some conceptual idea about quality of image. So I'm not sure why you seem to boast such large resolution over a very wide area.
Great looking setup. And to think, 20 years ago you would get a PC and a single monitor capable of running Flight Sim 5 for the cost of this rig. PC hardware is cheap as chips for the results you get.
Scenery is great, what area? The 7680 x 1600 really shines even though watching it via ytube. Very crisp images, almost 3d like. FSX is a CPU hog but you have it running smoothly for such high detail. Looks like Orbx. Really enjoy your video's.
Wouldn't buying an actual plane be cheaper than this? You have 4200 bucks in monitors only. Then the computer (around 2000?) that gives you a sum of 6200... Which you could buy a plane with. No seriously:
@miikhailov You're forgetting about the operating/maintenance costs, cost of flight lessons/tests, and when you crash on a PC you don't die. This coming from both a real life pilot and a simulator enthusiast.
Hi, i don't understand is it an SLI of 480 or 580 ? I want to do a SLI with GTX580 1.5Gs and 3 screens 23". Do you think frame rate will be good with all Fsx setting in hight ?
@hondacrxrus Two GTX 580 3GBs for now, after selling the third one. But I did the video using two 480s.
The cards can do 3D and 3D Surround. The displays are high quality screens, so no 3D support as with the crappy 120Hz TN panels. I also have one of those 120Hz screens for 3D but its image quality is utter crap.
@hondacrxrus It worked right away. There was a narrow black boarder at the right end of the image, maybe 10cm. But that wasn't a deal breaker. Otherwise BC worked great. That was in DX10 btw.
@Studententrip No idea for that location. Otherwise it was playable in DX9 after disabling my ENB config. DX10 was perfectly smooth. But I don't remember the exact frame rate, this was a while ago and I don't have FSX installed right now...
@MagicMicromania Intel Core i7 980X Extreme Edition 4.0GHz, ASUS Rampage III Extreme, 6GB DDR3 1600MHz, Palit GTX 580 3GB SLI. And a very old Intel G1 SSD for FSX.
@l88bastard I'm aware of that. This is the default FOV. But I wouldn't call it terrible after knowing how the DCS default FOV looks like in a Surround setup ;)
Very good detail and frame rate dude, quick question for you what settings and addons are you using as i have two 580's in sli and 3 24 inch monitors yet i cannot run like yours and i have issues with too close cockpits and black bars :(
@dukemartin1 Custom config for FSX. Most important addons in that video: REX, FTX AU, Coffs Harbour Airport. About the zoom, did you try to increase the zoom ( '-' key)? That should help in cockpit view, same goes for most external views.
Hey great vid!! will this work with 1 gpu and 2 24"? Thanks also what gpu were u using??

wwwTheSims3fr 6 months ago
@wwwTheSims3fr It used to be 480s back when I made this video. Since then, I switched to 580s.
Two 1.5GB 580s will be enough for 3x 23". Some setting heavily depend on the CPU you have though. FSX is not really that though for a modern GPU.

How did you do bezel correction, nividia says the FSX doesn't support bezel corrected res. I know how to do it with ati.
