@xymonau Hey. I did not say that being American is Christian. Not all Americans are Christians. It's what you're saying that makes me think you're not Christian. I don't know what country you're in, but I'm pretty sure your country has it's own faults, too. I don't think it's right for you to say America is torturing prisoners. Not all Americans do that. If those prisoners did not terrorize America or other countries, they would not be prisoners in the first place.
When your country stops torturing people the song may have credibility. Until then, your country should hang its head in shame instead of singing that it's the "promised land". How the mighty are fallen.
@xymonau I am sooo glad you are not American. I am not American by blood either, but I do value what's important to people. If you want to preach to people and not respect their culture, then you are wasting your time. Study ethics, sociology, or anthropology. You'll be surprised that what you believe sounds stupid to us, just like what our belief sounds to you. But that does not mean you can degrade other people's country. From what you are saying, I can honestly say your don't sound Christian.
I'm afraid I think this is American pap. I feel sorry such a lovely singer is singing a hymn to a country, let alone one that openly tortures human beings.
@xymonau I don't know if you love your country or not, and I don't know if you understand the full meaning of the song. God is also pleased that we love our own country. If we don't love what we see, which our country, then how could we love somebody we don't see, which is God? The song talks about how we (Americans) should join our hands together, with God's guidance, to pursue our lives despite the pain that terrorists have caused us.
@xymonau This song was written by Jennifer LaMountain and Kelly Mowrer as a tribute to the country and to the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack against America. And believe me, all Americans were victims on that day. We were all hurt in many ways.

What has that reply got to do with America torturing prisoners? Is that Christian to you?
