i can do about all that today with exception of a 720 and some of those hand plants. some reason i fall on my face doing handplants. and there nothing to joke about being on a 12 footramp. its scary. back then and even now.
well its nothing like a 720 on vert above coping. just airing above coping on a vert ramp is dangerous. its a 12 foot wall! and 4 feet of its, just straight up and down. you hit the flat bottom coming from 12+whatever you aired, and you are going to feel it. its tough stuff. most places dont have vert ramps. because you have to manage the knuckle heads who are going to kill themselves. too much of a risk. people manage to do that on 2 foot ramp.
I agree with the title. He is truly a legend and is, quite frankly, the godfather a aggressive inline.
It's really a shame though that the popularity that HE gained for the sport is now fanning out. For example, AG was cut from the X Games a few years ago :(
Hey 3Deditor. I work with Chris in Pittsburgh. He's doing real good. He's engaged and is looking for a house in Pittsburgh. He's working for Mike Speranzo of Mr. Smalls now. He's put on some weight but he's doing good.
Thankyou for the update Sasoccer20. I was wondering how he was doing. shawndesmann, going off the beaten path isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just means that one is trying to find their way in life, even if it means going through trial and error. We all go off the beaten path every now and then.
He was a natural. My bro & I were given the fortune with skills on wheels as well. My bro Jimmy Trimble made a couple of movies with Chris. My Mom took Chris and Jim to alot of Carls Jr. demonstrations, t.v./movie auditions and contests. When Chris wasn't doing something like skating, he would entertain everyone with his crazy antics. It was cool hanging with him during the time we did. It's unfortunate he started going off the beaten path. I really do hope he's doing ok now.
My parents were really good friends with his parents back in Norwalk, CA., I think it was. I had a crush on his younger bro Chad when I was a little girl. We went to the same church. Chris and my sister were in a wedding together when they were 5 yrs old. Anyone know their location these days? My mom would love to get ahold of his mom Melanie.

This was the shit back then but it pales compared to today's tricks....look up "Yasutoko" (I think that's how you spell it)

Him and Arlo are the grandfathers of this sport. Nowadays it's mostly Chris Haffey or one of those Valo guys you hear about though.
