So, a Christian one-eyed girl sees the world in black in white, save for her 2 goldfish which are blue and red (good and evil). Friendless and rumored about, we associate her with the blue fish. Once we see her slit wrist and suffocating red fish, we realize that she is in fact, red. Possibly because the girl believes she is bad, or b/c of her depression, she realizes the only way to rid the world of evil (herself) is to die. Once she rises again, she is in heaven, free.
