to every body ..!!! dont change the fan in mac store ..!! i change it 5 moins ago ... the sound start again ..!!! im fucking goijng to open it this time .!! no mac store .!!!
@orj78 Okay... now I'm worried.... my 13" MBP's fan gets really high-pitched (more than it used to...) above 2300RPM.... It's not an issue to replace the fan but for something 6 months old you'd expect better from Apple.
Hi, i buy´d my MacBook Pro 15inch for n week ago. Well, when i´m turning my macbook on, it´s making some sounds.. like the hard-drive are working or something..
"i don´t know " - but can anyone tell if it is normal that my MacBook are making these sound´s when i open my Mac..?
@DjDstructor Not normal. You better have it checked. From my experience its the fan on the left. Have it changed if u don't want to end up listening to the noise in the video.
This stupid fan thing just came back on my mac, and it shows up when I need the computer the most. And I can't just get it fixed because the nearest mac store is 80 miles away from here and I need it fixed quickly.
Bad fan. Sleeve bearing is giving out and grinding the sleeve up. The end result is the copper sleeve enlarges allowing the shaft too much play in it, causing the shaft to gyrate in the sleeve.
It's hard to tell, not sure where the HD is located on MBP's, on their predecessors (the ALu G4 Powerbook) it is located more or less under the track pad next to the DVD drive. If it is clearly coming from the top corner, it's probably a fan, as that's where the air intakes are situated, and it can draw air the easiest... Is your machine less responsive when it makes this noise, if yes, it may be the HD, if not it's probably the fan..
I just recently got one (used, previous model intel core duo) MBP and i used vmware fusion 2 to import my old PC onto a file on the desktop, i've been using SMC fancontrol at 5000 rpm every once in awhile to keep the computer cool in my lap when enjoying netflix.
my noise is from the left side as well, is it the fan or the hard drive???!! Thanks in advance
Had the same problem, bought a replacement fan online and did the switch myself, I was pretty nervous. I've never work on a laptop before, but I was successful! If you have experience with computers do it yourself, there are video guides online to help too!
Mine does the same thing, Left side, sounds like a wood-chipper. I don't know about you but for the money we spent on these you'd think there'd be better QA on components like FANS! What on earth to we do?.. The losers behind the genius bar will no doubt tell me in broken emo speak that they can't do anything about it and I need to send it back to China for repairs. I've been an Apple customer since my 9500 in 1996. LAME!
Yeah, I just turn on my MBP, no additional apps running. Whirrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Man this is annoying..... I'm a big apple fan, but NOT a fan of the super fan noise. Yo Apple, this is a BIG problem. I have 2.16 Core 2 Duo.CPU A Temp = 187. Are the new MBP's better? I need Bose Noise canceling headphones for my MBP. Perhaps Apple can cut a deal with Bose to include them with a MBP purchase. :(

yo i got an hp pavilion dv8235nr laptop and it sometimes makes so fan noises like if the fan was touching something inside over and over and its so annoying. if i hardly press the bottom of my laptop where the fan is situated it stops and after a few sec/min it starts doing the same thing also when i sometimes tilt the computer. u got any help of what could it be? a cable touching fan blades? debris?. any help?
Orj78, this just started happening to mine and it's the same model you have. Please tell me you found out how to stop it without having to pay!
