I didn't realize Sanford was an opponent of pre-emptive wars. I'd heard his name bandied about, and just assumed he was another neo-"conservative" twit not worthy of serious consideration (since the vast majority of people promoted within GOP circles fit that mold to a tee, alas). Perhaps I was mistaken. He may not be quite "another Ron Paul," but with the good Congressman reaching age 77 in 2012 (and thus unlikely to run), perhaps Gov. Mark Sanford is the next best thing at this time?
Who runs Mitt? -- same bunch of crooks who bought and paid for McCain and Obama! Goldman Sachs $234,275 Citigroup Inc $178,200 Merrill Lynch $173,025 Morgan Stanley $170,350 Lehman Brothers $152,000 UBS AG $123,350 Bain Capital $123,150 JPMorgan Chase & Co $79,700 See it for yourself at opensecrets -Link ---> tinyurl(dot)com/cqrzoj If you still love our country then you know it's RON PAUL 2012
11% unemployment in South Carolina. Sanford is just following the old South Carolina tradition of exploiting and oppressing the poor and using phony "principles" as an excuse. Sanford has never met a military expenditure he didn't like.
Cons dream of the days before FDR (and modernity) and in the South, before Lincoln of course. If it wasn't for FDR and "big government" you would all be dirt farmers. Go back to that see if you like it.
South Carolina is a very poor state - what has Sanford done for the poor people of South Carolina, other then raise their property taxes (on what little property they have)?
SC makes poor people pay taxes on their *furniture* every year.
It's too late: the number and caliber of new immigrants; the mindset of the "educated classes;" the popular brainwashing on race and history; the "nuke'em high" Fox News Republicans; the sheer vulgarity and stupidity of the people - who have transformed from a citizenry to the masses - the future is global progressive diktat. The anti-Federalist suspicion regarding the sheer size of the republic has come true - times ten.
People today fear freedom and long for sugar-coated, warm slavery.
