  • the Gauss Master is a really sensitive VCO but the level of output from the Honeywell chip in the infrasound mic attachment outputs around a volt .. way more than needed by the Gauss Master. the sensitivity of this combo is obtained in the Honeywell chip onboard amplifier and the quality of the tuning volume of the port tuning volume seen in the video. this setup can easily detect the thump of a nuisance car stereo half a mile away ....... generally " dramatically " sensitive I'd say .

  • How sensitive is the Gauss master how low are the SPLs before it stops responding?

  • @smudgek3 ........ it's hard to say how low it will actually go to, because we are surrounded by ENORMOUS levels of infrasound. generally at any given time, ANY infrasound you are detecting could be coming from any place in the world , due to the nature of the way infrasound travels in the atmosphere ( it's why they listen for nuclear explosions there ) . infrasound waves from China may be masking quieter infra sounds located much near to you.
