ummm im gonna be pitching soon and i wanted know if there r any tips for just pitching fastball..like any tips to make u pitch better...ps im 12 and i just started pitching like a month ago sooo i just wanted 2 know if there r any good tips 4 me
Practice, practice, practice... It is all muscle memory! I am sure you have already heard that though.
But here are a couple things that you should focus on that will help:
1. Relax, you want your arm to be relaxed or you will not get good whip. Just like overhand, relaxing your arm allows increased whip. (Just like a whip)
2. Take your time, always go to the pitching rubber at the same spot. (repetition)
3. Power line (imaginary line from you to the catcher) You want the ball on the power line, so your toes of your stride foot (pointed towards 1:00 if a right handed pitcher) will touch the line, do not stride onto the line or your ball will not be on the line, but rather you will!!
4. OPEN YOUR HIPS
5. Remember, every pitcher, at every level, has good and bad days so always keep your head high!
6. I know I already said it, but the more you throw the better you will become!
