Ok so I took notice of a comment stating " nerds hate macs, they know enough about computers to know they suck" interesting... I have built multiple computers and I'm a programmer and guess what... I LOVE MACS! and I'm not just another Apple fanboy either. The quality of Macs are superior. The operating system is fantastic(it is a unix based operating system after all). and yes I do use other operating systems including linux and solaris.

Mac quality is not superior. The class action lawsuits against Apple for defective iMacs and Macbooks (2 years in a row) proves this easily. ASUS and MSI offer as good, if not better quality than Mac can achieve, with ASUS leading the pack on warranty. The OS is as different from traditional UNIX as a Camaro is to a Trans Am, which explains why Macs have such severe security vulnerabilities that cause it to be such an exploitable, insecure platform. Be wise!

@MaestroDraven I do love ASUS. I've had one of their motherboards for over 5 years now and I've had zero problems and no complaints. My anger comes from the poor quality laptops that break after a year of use; I've repaired so many its ridiculous. The macbook pro, on the other hand, is built very well. The aluminum case allows it dissipate heat and increases the rigidity of the design. And overall I do love the OS. I know it has security vulnerabilities, but so do many other operating systems.

That may be, but also consider that aluminum is stupidly cheap to manufacture, which is why Apple chose it. It contributes nothing to the manufacturing process in terms of cost, so Apple's already enormously high costs mean a much bigger profit margin. I've always asked people, "Why do you think Apple makes so much money?" only to hear, "They sell well and they're popular." But there's a LOT more to it than that. Apple's costs are minimal, and they mark up significantly.

As for the laptops, well, last I checked Macbooks were far from bulletproof. The Grey Screen of Death seems to be a major problem for Macbooks these days. It's spread all over the Mac forums like wildfire. And yes, the iPhone 4 issue was a glaring oversight, but even WORSE was Steve Jobs' outright refusal to admit his mistake, or take responsibility for it. He did precisely the same thing when the LISA failed. He threw his team under the bus rather than take responsibility.
