  • I had this LP record (wish I still did) I wish you could post the rest of it ... great film editing ... Thanks for posting

  • Boris was and always will be the king of horror. Thanks for posting this.

  • We're in complete agreement. Since about the age of 6 or 7, I've regarded Boris as the center of the whole horror cinema universe. Thanks so much for watching & commenting!

  • This very inteeeresting. Its really neat to hear Karloff narrate this. Excellent! To hear him explain his own role in Frankenstein. Really enjoyable, its a shame I didn't catch this sooner.

  • You're very kind, Aqua. Yes, Karloff did an entire audio recording session in the early 1960s recounting various fascinating details from those initial horror films from the early '30s thru the mid '40s, and this clip offers the first 3 tracks from that vintage recording. Visually, I edited it together from scratch (just like my Barbara Steele profile clip). However, this ended up being so much work, and it's gotten so few views, I probably won't upload anymore selections from that record album.

  • Well I think it came out great. It should have a lot more views than this, but I certainly think people will catch up to it, its just not getting enough exposure I think. Because I am sure there are many people on here that would love to see this and just don't know its even on here.

  • It's the Grinch! Sorry, but when I hear Boris speak, that's always my first thought. I knew the Grinch before my parents let me watch monster films. These old Universal films are still the creepiest horror films ever. Amazing.... they did it all without multi-million dollar budgets, CGI and buckets of fake blood.

  • There's a line Karloff says in "The Body Snatcher", something like: "I have an idea! A wonderful idea!", and it always cues up in my mind about the Grinch having a wonderful/awful idea. LOVE Karloff as the Grinch!... No buckets of blood, that's true. I was (and still am) amazed at how they'd say of a newly discovered dead person: "The throat has been torn out. It's the Wolf Man!", but you can clearly SEE the throat of the corpse & there's no blood at all. But that's cool, I'm not a fan of gore.

  • Universal monsters are the best!

  • Yeah, they really are, they're my all-time favs.

  • when imhotep wakes up i always half expect his arm to fall off!!! thanks for this little walk down memory lane! xx

  • Thanks. Yes, especially considering Imhotep / Ardeth Bey's frantic desire NOT to be touched by anyone, you'd think he'd crumble into a pile of dust if someone insisted on shaking his hand in greeting. Anyway, glad you liked it. I never get enough of these Universal films, they're so atmospheric & wonderful.
