@Iowaracefan I think that's what is meant by hubless. They've been around for years in the custom chopper/harley scene. I remember a guy in Miami making them a decade ago or so.
I doubt there is a way to actually make a wheel hubless, since you need some sort of bearing, and some sort of mount that remains solid, while the wheel revolves around it. a "hub" , even if it doesn't look like one!
