im trying to put a bike together at the moment, im doing it on the megger cheap!
i have a chinese 125 cg clone. the shocks are aweful but i want to get something a little better and lower them. i want to try this myself.
thanks for the info on the handle bars, im looking at maybe making a seat and possibly a tank. the tank will be from some form of plastic i think. and the seat from sheet metal.
My friend Jeff says the bars he thinks you need are Omars new slideways dirt track handle bars. If you haven't already, he says to google Omars dirt track racing website and click on bars link on the site.
I just talked to my friend Jeff and he says the handle bars are thick walled aluminum with approximately rise of about 4" and approximately 4" pullback. The suspension lowering should be done by a suspension professional. The seat pan is a dirt track style seat pan, all of these chassis components can be ordered through some west coast accessory stores. One would be Omars, the other would A and A racing, both here on the west coast. You can look on the internet for these.
@ninjaman1138 I recommend, AFAM bars, suspension is all personal prefence... ive only had DTX bikes done so i cant recommend anyone and the seat i would again recommend Sadleman.
There were 3 tracks total in this video, first was at Gene Romero in Castle Rock, second was at Straddleline in Olympia, third was at Hannigan Speedway in Bellingham. They were all filmed in Washington state.
Thats the look im trying to get on my 650xs but I wana keep it street legal with lights. But thats how I want it to look. I love how far you guys lean into the corners without laying them over.
cheers dude!
i have been thinking about bending up some bars at work. we have stainless steel and the bending machines.
also thinking about bending a frame, all i have to do then is learn tig and set!!!
all the best
