Yes, you can train reaction time somewhat, but not everyone can get it to be amazingly quick. Research shows that fitness (even light exercise) improves reaction time. This makes sense because your muscles will be "awake" from being used. Reaction time is hard to measure because of error, if you have to click your mouse when you hear a sound, there is always the chance you accidentally click too early and end up pressing it at the same time the sound alarms -you'd react .0001 after the stimulus.
@meshak04 You can improve the times. I have by about 70 ms. I invented robot punching arms and over the months of training I've seen the difference and prove them to myself. Even tried to get various universities to exerpiment with them but no takers. Screw 'em, as long as I know and I have gotten faster, that's what counts. It amazes me how much faster one can get and how much of it is mental, too.
@aeshu1 Experiments have shown that reactions can start as little as 85ms in humans, so it is not impossible. Reactions have been studied but a whole lot more can be done. My robot punching arms have shown me that I can take off 70 ms off my reaction times. Practice makes a huge difference.

0.11 sec is the record, if it is less than that they reject it because they claim it is humanly impossible
aeshu1 3 years ago
i think its 0,11 sec
i got one of 0,152 sec hehehe
if it is lower than 0,11 sec then they reject the answer saying it is humanly impossible

I am wondering if one can train one's reaction time?

@burtonh1 Yes, they can now with my robot punching arms. It involves much more than just pushing a button.
