Teddy Bear is not the breed of any hamster, actually. It is just the name pet stores give them to jack prices, like Dalmation or Black bear, etc. This is a Syrian, just a Long Haired Syrian hamster..which is a Teddy in petstore names if they list it as that. Blackbears, They can be 5" to 8" in length. Which also these can't be housed with any other hamster unlike the dwarf breed. Syrians will kill one another.
When I first met her, my wife had a pet hamster named Stinkerbell. The music is by Edward G. White and you might recognize it as the theme from Captain Kangaroo.

Flipboy, the aprtment was hamster-proofed and Stinkerbell was allowed to roam around for one hour each night. She would store food in a corner closet behind some boxes.

It wasn't wet tail or any other disease we know about. This hamster was babied, BTW. Her owner would wake up at 1 AM to play with this nocturnal animal and let her run around the hamster-proofed apartment.
yea, and dont you know, peta doesnt care about your pets? they have freaking nazi death vans, and keep tossing money to terrorist organizations, ones the FBI considers terrorists, like ALF and ELF, something like that. but he doesnt have any visible illnesses, so whats your problem? do you want peta to come to this guys place and drown his hamster? also, if i may ask, it looks like he has a patch of fur missing, what happend there?

Stinkerbelle wasn't a teddy... just a regular one. Teddy's are quite a bit smaller, I think.

I used to have one a little like him. Smart and would just wander around the house :)
He used to use a ball, but eventually we'd just put him down without it and let him roam. They're too slow to get away really :P

No one knows,, maybe the side she slept on, maybe old age, it is not uncommon and it was not because of disease.

Because they sometimes develop large cysts and during the healing process the fur falls out around the area. They can smell pretty bad.

Some hamsters have bald spots because of the poistion they lay in, I've been told. My hamster Marble has a big bald spot behind his ear.

My hamster lost his hair before he died too. Stinkerbell probably died of age, and nothing else.

We wtill don't know what accounted for the loss of hair. It may have been old age. Poor Stinkerbell died about 6 months after this video was made.
