Guys like raul or inzaghi got the attention because they always played in a team surrounded by world-class players whereas fowler didn't get that kind of luxuries compared to few class players (mcmanaman, redknapp, barnes) that created goalscoring chances for him...

@kopkingslfc I hate Robbie Fowler. That said I agree that he was the most gifted striker I have ever seen. He should be remembered as one of football's greats a player of amazing talent. Rush was great but Fowler makes him look ordinary by comparison. But he brought about his own downfall and it is Fowlers fault, alone, that he never became a legend. To me he will always be a horrible little cunt. That's his fault.

Thanks for sharing this - brilliant. Made me sad though, makes you wish he were still playing for us at the top of his game. I remember in the Stan years when we played Newcastle and straight from the kick-off they were so high in confidence they immediately took them on between them and were unlucky not to score in those first 6 seconds or so. We were a cracking team at that time under Evans, great football. Fowler v Schmeichel at O.T without any of our fans in the stadium - absolute class.
