I'm from Strabane, Co. Tyrone and I support my own country which is the Republic of Ireland. I don't recognise the partition of the six counties and I don't recognise Northern Ireland as a State or a football team.
Players from the North are perfectly entitled to switch their allegiance to the Republic of Ireland. Afterall, they're Irish citizens and feel more associated with their own national anthem ( Amhrán na bhFiann ) unlike the anthem the North share with England.

Secondly what is a country?Surely that is a very subjective thing?Yes the island is divided between 2 states.To me the "country" consists of the whole island, roughly about 40% of the population in your "country" would agree with that.NI has existed for less than 100 years, what about the hundreds of years before that?
