The realistic and cartoony elements should actually be mixed. Keep sonic type characters cartoon like. Make human type characters realistic. That would work a lot better. little off topic, but am I the only one who got REALLY (caps... <__<) irritated with the fact they took all the skill out of grinding? you can actually go up a completely vertical rail now by pounding the speed button, and you automatically land on the rail as long as your within 5 feet of it. lame... but I digress.

The Unleashed models were perfect, the way they SHOULD look like. The models in THIS game look WAAAAYYY off. Sonic characters shouldn't look realistic. They should look cartoonish.

Yes, this is the best version of Dr. Eggman Sega has made so far. The previous Eggman was so out of place with the humans, skinny legs, pink nose, no chin or neck, smooth incredibly egg shaped body, glasses with no earpieces and look like they're glued into his eyes(no offense). Sega should have stuck to using this version of Eggman for future main series games since main series games usually push their realism to the limits. I hope we get to see this realistic version of Eggman again someday.

As cool as villains like Black Doom, and Mephiles are I hope Dr. Eggman is the main villain in Sonic Unleashed. I know that "monster from beneath the Earth" that spawns all those purple minions from the videos will be in there as well, but I would absolutely love to have Dr. Eggman as the true final boss. If not I'll still be very happy as I'm really really looking forward to Sonic Unleashed.

His name is not Dr. Eggman it's Dr. Robotnik. The new sonic company needs to do their research. His Legs are too long and he needs to be fatter. Sonic's big enemy used to be Metal Sonic and You never see him anymore except in the crappy Sonic Heros game. They made the mistake thinking Robotnik's name was Eggman when Sonic was making fun of him and called him Eggman because of his shape. Only other good enemy was in Sonic Adventure and that was Chaos, but they need to bring back Metal Sonic.

You are wrong. The original japanese name for Robotnik/Eggman IS eggman, but when it got to America/Europe they changed it to robotnik for whatever reason :P

But i also think Robotnik was better, when he was called that, he was like the main villain, but now, he is like..... just there. That's pretty sad IMO, but i really hope he is the main villain in sonic unleashed. We have to wait and see ^^

I adore Kanemaru-san. He's the best for Sonic. As for Pete and Jason... I think Jason's voice acting has actually improved considerably since ShtH and Sonic X. He's actually very good in Sonic Secret Rings, but that may just be my own opinion.

As for Pete, I forgot how cute Silver is in english. xD But I don't think his voice would suit Sonic... ^^;

Its not entirely the actors/actresses fault if their performance is not up to their usual standards as we have seen in their many other roles. Many of these VAs are very talented, but its also the director's fault. They tell the VAs how to deliver lines. The producers do the same in telling them what they want.

So as much as they probably want to do the best acting they can, they don't get much of the choice.

Yep, that's true. It can also hurt if the actor himself/herself doesn't really care about what role they're playing. Lacey Chabert is supposedly a Sonic fan, so she might have been stunted by the decision of a voice director, like you said. It's not like she wasn't good at all as Elise; she is much better than some other voices on this game, at least.

It's people like Jason Griffith that lead to me to believe that he doesn't really care at all for his roles. I believe actors has just enough leeway to control how they say their lines as much as the voice director; they can easily suggest different ways to say it themselves and even improvise. That's teamwork, and good things can happen like that if both forces truly appreciate what they're doing. Right now, I don't believe they are.
