I'm in Civil Air Patrol, the official axillary of the USAF, and I someday hope to be doing exactly what you're doing, protecting our freedom. And I think the one thing I'll miss the most is the possibility of not being home for the holidays...

It used to be called the Department of War, now it is department of Defense, which is what it should be. DEFENSE. But I did give credit and say they were fighting for the freedom of others in those countries, commendable yes. But fighting for them is not fighting for me. I think the CIA and FBI do more to keep me safe at home than do the soldiers.

It used to be called the Department of War, now it is department of Defense, which is what it should be. DEFENSE. But I did give credit and say they were fighting for the freedom of others in those countries, commendable yes. But fighting for them is not fighting for me. I think the CIA and FBI do more to keep me safe at home than do the soldiers.

Very few would enlist if the commercials on tv showed the actual battle footage of soldier getting legs blown off by IEDS, and things of that nature. A co - workerr of mine is headed back in Jan to move supplies out of Iraq with the Neb. Guard. He was telling me they only run patrols 4 days per week the rest is basically sitting with a thumb up your *(^%% waiting on orders from the Brass

I have been Active Duty for 8 years and have been deployed 4 times. 1st to the Katrina relief doing what they are suppose to do, 2 to Iraq, and 1 to Afghanistan. That doesn't include the training I had to do. Plus all they do is try to scam for disability every time they do active time. I see it every time they come into the clinic I work in.
