when pac sang bout thugging it wasnt from the glorifying perpesctive it was from the this is whats going on in our hoods..something needs to be down about it ..because its hurting alot of good people ...and if we cant stop it..lets regulate it to the point where just the people that are involved are the ones being affected

I DONT believe he pretended to be A Gangsta. I think He instead of staying away from all that, directly imbraced it. In order to connect with those type of people more(gang bangers n' stuff) cus people wont listen to a person they cant relate to, they want to see themselves in the person leading them.

@Makaveli7Soldier yeah you might be right, but dont forget a lot of young people embraced the '' thug life'' he was preaching in the beginning and conversely people ended up being in jail etc..

@Makaveli7Soldier Tupac was in no way a gangsta! he was a highly intellegent careing and loveing person, he was not a killer!!! which is what a gangster is! but to apeal to alot of stupid young kids, sell millions of albums and appeal to the gangs themselves he had to adopt the persona.

@tharowkilla [1] I never said Pac was a gangster, I meant instead of staying away from shady people, crimminal activites, gangs, drug dealers etc. He directly embraced and befriended them. Firstly cus he had love for these people cus they were the ones who showed him love & helped him out when he was broke, homeless & on his own. Secondly cus inorder to REACH "his people" blacks, those ghetto kids, gangsters, drug dealers, oppressed etc he had to be able to really relate to them and vise versa.

@tharowkilla [2] People arent gonna follow, trust or listen to someone they cant relate to. But if they see a piece of themslves in a leader then they will listen & learn.

In a way he was kinda like Clarence 13X. btw being a killer doesnt make you a G and a G doesnt make you a killer. Im postive there are a lot of G's that havent killed. But the word Gangster is elusive and subjective, some say gangsta as a sort of informal synonym for soldier. This is what I see Pac as a soldier or rider.

@Makaveli7Soldier Yeah!! Pac was no gangster. especially not a West Coast gangster! Me being from Watts and had homies on the Death Row Label, I saw Pac trying to fuse the realities of street life with a revolutionary spirit! Ice Cube was like that! when in college, I had a number of people asking me more about black politcs based on Cube's involvement with Dr. Khalid Muhammad! Im considered a G, but it has nothing to do with participating in gang activites...Im way beyond that now! Hotep!
