  • これが、"ロールピアノ"ですね。

  • Now THIS is a real piece of artwork in more ways than one. Firstly the music and secondly the workmanship which went into making the instrument that plays it. Old mechanical items such as this always fascinate me, so its great to see it working. I simply love ragtime tunes like this! Additionally, the tone and sound of the piano gives the music a nice, bright, cheerful edge, and the tempo is just right too.

Thanks for alowing me to see and hear this Victrolaman !

  • Thanks for posting this, a nice roll performance.

  • my player has probably the same wood as yours on the inside... but mine looks better. what now? lol

  • @JamesPriceJohnson

    Is it a competition?

  • if you wish

  • Good morning! 8:07 in The Netherlands.

Thanks for posting! Nice piece again :o)#

  • Jelly Roll Morton did NOT record in 1900. He didn't start recording until the 20s, though he was well known through his sheet music before then. The song "The Crave" was used in a recent MOVIE called "The Legend of 1900" but the scene was set appropriately in the 20s.

    Theguyof1900, you're just wrong. Sorry.

  • I love the simple sweet and strong style he has like he's holding back just to see people reactions. I need to buy a piano and practice

  • LOVED IT Can you please put up the Crave by Jelly Rolll Morton from about 1900 please???.

  • I would love to do that for you, only I do not have that roll. Is there an actual roll done by Jelly Roll Morton from that early a time period ? According to his biography, he didn't start recording or making piano rolls until about 1923. Thanks for watching.

  • No Morton started when he was 15 years old recording & playing music he wrote the crave in 1900 when he was 15 & its one of his 1st hits & in 1917 Morton later did the Tiger rag the origenal recordings still exsist after all these years & morton was very popular in the 1920s yes but he started in 1900.

  • Wow, thanks for the information. This a real mystery, I would love to hear one of those recordings that he made way back at the turn of the Century in 1900. Do you know if he recorded on early disc records or cylinder records. I would love to track one of those down !! Those folks at the RedhotJazz site on the internet, should be told this. They are not listing a single record for him either as a single artist or with his various trios, bands and orchestras that is prior to 1923.

  • You know what ill try to track them down but from my understanding is that his very rarly recordings are locked in the libery of congress somwhere & but there on CD these days to & I have a few of Mortons very rarly reordings on my so called I pod witch I barrley use.

  • THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THIS UP. I LOVE THIS SONG AND YOUR PLAYER PIANO. I HOPE I CAN GET THE ONE I JUST GOT WORKING. do you know what to do if i cant get the sliding valves too move? when i first saw it and pumped it, random notes played, but the roll didnt move

  • Sorry, I am not really a technical expert on repairing or trouble shooting mechanical problems with a Player Piano. Depending on your location there are usually, competent local experts who tune and repair these wonderful old players from the teens and twenties. Good Luck with your restoration and thanks for watching.
