  • Hi, your vids are amazing, I'm learning so much from you. You have a video for walking two dogs at the same time? I have two adult labradors and I cant walk with them both by my own, but I would like to! Thanks!!

  • @UkiyouCitrus

When dogs get overstimulated, they reject treats. It would be best to just make the reward access to the environment. Like smelling the bushes, interacting with a dog/person....

  • This is great. I made the "mistake" of clicking for eye-contact on walks because Fi gets SO overstimulated outside. It was great at first, but now I'm having to go back and reward her for just walking next to me and not staring at me or the treats.

  • ciao your videos are amazing, you can't even imagine how helpful they are with my two 6 months old puppies! i just would like to know how can i teach both to walk with the loose leash, it's very difficult for me 'cause they are both large breed puppies and i'm a small woman

  • Love your videos. You make it look so easy. I also have a BC. What type of harnesses do you use on your dogs??

  • Hi! I have been facing a problem while training my frenchie pup. She behaves well at home, but when we're outside, after walking a little, she starts rejecting the treats. Even if she takes them, she spits them out and leaves on the ground. I tried to pet her instead of treating, but I think it's not really working because she's a small dog, so I have to interrupt the walk to pet her. What should I do?

  • Hi, i have a 4 & a half year old GSD. As a puppy his training was going well. I taught him de basic commands etc. But later my dad became terminally ill & I couldn't focus on dog for sometime. Now he knows de the basic commands but he isn't properly offleash traind. I do feel bad for being careless towards de dog. But I still want to keep the dog. So can he still be fully traind at this age. I am willing to give him the time and attention.PS I can't afford any trainers or clubs at the moment.

  • Hi Emily I was wondering if any of your dogs get jealous of eachother sometimes, because I might be getting a 2 year old female Doberman and I already have a 5 year old Mini pin doberman mix (she's small) and I'm kinda afraid my 5 year old might snap at her sometimes. Do you have any advise please ?

  • @Pipocaa5 A min pin is not a doberman at all.

  • @easyitsashley Yeah I know, my dog is a Mix of the 2 that's what I meant lol

  • @Pipocaa5 ..not possible.

  • @easyitsashley The male was the mini pin the female was the dobbie, it is possible lol, she's not the only one that is like that, there was even one on petfinder exactly the same as her, looks and breed lol

  • @Pipocaa5 oh that changes a lot now! LOL

  • @easyitsashley Lol yep, shocking huh haha

  • Thanks for a great video series. I like it that you provide clear, verbal instructions as well as examples and then follow up with extended footage of the command in actions (rather than just a quick showing). I wished you lived in SF to help me out. And I'd buy a painting - if they weren't all of animals :-)

  • there must be something wrong with the way I am training mine. I act like a tree when he pulls and refuse to give him access as long as he pulls. But, he is very stubborn. He keep pulling until he start choking himself and coughing. Am I supposed to let him choke himself? it really embarrassing.. it looked like I am abusing the dog.

  • Hola Emily!!! Muy interesante video, sigo practicando estas tecnicas!!!!!

    Gracias!!!!

    Saludos!!!!

  • Another great vid, Emily. Can't wait to hear all the other questions answered. This is just what I need. Zoe walks perfectly without a leash, but when on leash, if she feels the pressure against her neck, she pulls. Obviously, I've trained her to do that. Bummer.

  • I hate to be repetitive, but I love your videos! I just brought home a Dalmatian/Hound cross from the shelter. He's 5 months old, and not even housebroken. Using some of my own experience and a LOT of your insights, I was able to teach a sit and a tentative heel in one afternoon with NO punishments. He was wagging and surprisingly very attentive for 1.5 hours of play/training. Anyway, thanks again, and please keep the videos coming. P.S. I'm a subscriber now for whatever that's worth to you.

  • Oh, i see now what i was doing wrong that goes for your first reason....we are going to work on that.

    Thanxs Emily!

  • Very good video, amazingly explained and executed.

  • Great video Emily

  • Another great video from Kikopup. :) Thanks for all that you do and all the time you spend doing it.

  • awesome video thanks emily

  • Great video Emily. I still have trouble with my dog pulling to this day. Her nose is ALWAYS to the ground. I don't know how to settle her down either.. looking forward to your next video.

  • loose leash walking is a constant struggle for me and my dog, so I appreciate these videos!

  • love this video, thanks for making it!

  • Hello thank you for the video!

I have a question but Im not sure if it is a problem or not. My dog is a lab puppy at 16 weeks old, when I take her out she doesnt pull on the lead, but is always stopping to sniff the grass at the sides or behind and I cant get her moving, if I pull on the lead she sits down and leans back against the lead. So the lead is in tension but in the opposite direction. I am currently assuming that when she matures she will walk as normal but thought Id ask just incase.

  • how to fix my dog? :( when i go out to the school i leave my dog alone and she starts to howl. how could i fix it? im starting to have a problems with my neighbor becouse of howling :( i dont what to give away my dog just becouse she fells lonely for a couple of hours :/

  • @isdykusii Your problem will take time and patience to fix. Search in the youtube search box: Separation Anxiety - mild case - positive reinforcement dog training and click on the pamelamarxsen video with that exact title.

  • @isdykusii Hmm, get another dog or something to keep her company. Cause the dog is howling wondering where you are, it's natural for dogs to do that as their ancestors are wolves, so get something to occupy her, if not, check some vids by kikopup, I'm pretty sure I saw one that could help with this problem. :)

  • after following your vids so long i feel i love your dogs like they were my own. do they know they are famous movie stars?

  • Very good video. [: Can I ask if there's a reason why you put the treat on the floor instead of feeding it to Tug?

  • can't wait for those final two questions you mentioned to be answered.!!!!

  • Awesome video as always, am really looking forward to the new ones too!

When I walk Pepper FROM the house she wants to pull and sniff at everything around her and even if I stop, she runs from side to side, pulling at the leash and sniffing things. Me stopping has no real effect on her pulling, all she knows is that when I stop - she can run around me and sniff the oh-so-exciting ground. :S

However, walking BACK to the house - she's fine and walks perfectly next to me.

  • @apinchofpepper Hey that's JUST like my dogs!! It's strange isn't it?

  • @AshChocolate I suppose the route isn't as exciting on the way back! :D

My Pepper is only 4 months old though, so I guess a lot of her excitement is just puppyhood. ... or so I hope. >.<

  • @apinchofpepper Hmm that's not it, I use the exact same way back. xD Wow, only 4 months, at least you have time to change that behavior, my 2 dogs are 3 and 2 years old :)

  • @apinchofpepper The same thing happens to my dog too except for the fact that she's the same walking back to the house.

She has too much energy and seems like she's distracted by EVERYTHING around her and seems like I'm not there >.>

  • Excellent vid once again

  • Great video! I will share this with those who need. :)

  • Oh boy, oh boy. Those follow-up videos are on just the right topics. Thanks, Emily!

  • All your dogs/babies are so beautiful!! Are Kiko and Tug still the good friends they were at the first? I would love to see some videos of your dogs playing. Thank you for your lessons.

  • Great video as always!! Was wondering if you ever tried the 'Choose to heel" Method? Also My male loves to mark so I taught him to only mark when I say 'pee' lol.

  • So helpful this video. Thanks! My dog doesn't watch my speed, so if I start walking, she goes ahead to the end of the leash and if she feels tension, then she slows down.

  • Thanks, my dog also is very pushy, he nips at my knees and my shoe strings when he wants a treat..lol...thx

  • Thanks for this Emily! To tell you the truth, I have never before thought about how the dog pulling to the water, fire hydrant, ect. reinforces the pulling... It makes total sense now that I think about it! So thanks for this video. :)

  • this same thing happens to me Why does my dog only walk on a loose leash when I have treats and pulls and ignores me when I don't have treats? EXCEPT my dogs thing is that she won't do tircks like stand on 2legs unless i have treats so how do i fix this?

  • Nice video, great tips, Tks Cya
