I feel sorry for the colored man vernardo he attempted suicide 3 times before this was filmed. He thought that his son being killed by a bunch of thugs was gods punishment for what he did and a few years after this was filmed he attempted suicide again and was successful
Most of you are ignorant reactionaries. These soldiers are just as much victims as the people they killed. These men had already been exposed to the atrocities of war before this massacre. You don't know what its like to be in a war zone, with death all around you. Its not like the movies. These men were manipulated by the US government. You can't demonize these men for doing what they were trained to do. Its the ones giving the orders that are morally corrupt.
I think this video is biased, its focusing more on what the soldiers actually did at My Lai and less on the fact that these guys are also civilians programmed to kill and were lead into the village under false pretenses, damn biased british people
What country/army hasn't done something like this..this happened because of terrible decisions by army personnel. This was not and has never been US policy like te Nazis. You hypocrite morons..look at your own countrys history before you criticize mine!
I had a Canadian friend who's in Afghanistan. He and his unit patrol came under fire from one of the suspected insurgents in courtyard. He had to call in an USAF air-strike because he and his comrades were pinned down by Taliban gunfire.
The plane fired missiles on a house but later turn out to be full of civilians with it. 5 Afghan civilians including two kid were killed.
Humans should die. They have done more harm to this world than good.
Im very disappointed as a American. We always preach about rights and wrong. Like what the Nazi's did, but in the end we did the exact same thing. Events like this happened in the past. We always say that we learned from their mistakes but in the end we do it. Just looking at those pic I feel very sad. All those innocent people didn't even get a chance to live. All the children never get to live a full life.Think about who they could be today. I feel sad that they took all that away from them.
at 7:02 I think the photographer was lying, he probably knew exactly what they were going to do, but he had no guts to tell them to stop. He just took photos.
4 YR OLD BOY WITH HIS ARM HANGING OFF......SO I KILLED HIM?......What???? The only good thing about america in the sixties was the music, and they even played that from hellicoptors.......Knobs.
u fukin nigger as bitch, u killed n tortured 25 women n children and all u can say is i just went. u wiil fukin rot in hell my man, n i hope sum 1 will do that shit to ur family n c how u feel . fukin cunt
@bruceCle you cant say anything till youve been through the same thing. It wasn'treally him that decided, it was the robot minded side of him that was programmed to just kill by his training program. You think he's proud of what happened? I dont think so. He wouldnt be crying if he was proud. Get real
@IAmTheOnlyMrDaryl the killing, l can maybe understand under extreme stress, a "just make them all go away" mentality. But rape, torture, slitting children's throats, beating the wounded, mutilating people - l don't get that at all - and to be honest l hope l never, ever do
u fukin nigger, u killed women n children n all u cud say is I JUST WENT wat wud u say if sum1 did that to ur family? fukin murderers u will have to answer to the big man (god).
I Will Stop here on part three, This Is Disgusting. Hypocrite U.S. Goverment act in Shock when they found the Concentration Camps In germany, almost thirty years later they are doing the SAME SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this seriously Pisses me Off. Cerdos!!!
this Documentery went out in 1988 on D20th annivarsery 23yr ago i remember asking for it 2B taped it ended saying could it happen again in another war involving the U.S Army Calley acted like a nazi and should have been tried like 1 and should have been hanged R jailed 4a long time.

Guerilla warfare or no guerilla warfare, am idiot could clearly see who is dangerous and who not, a woman holding a baby and another pleading and trying to protect her family shot down, how could that ever be justifiable, it was clearly pre meditated because the photographer was allowed to take a photo of them alive, and when I say premeditated I mean post actually going into my lai
Karma comes to haunt people in different ways. Maybe it takes your mind. Maybe your heart. But I guess what this video shows is that Karma comes to get you if you do things like that. It'll never let you sleep. Never let you eat. You won't be able to so much as take a piss without Karma right there on your shoulder, reminding you of all the shit you've done.
Maybe if a different unit were there perhaps the 101st airborne, 4th infantry div, the 25th, or the Marines perhaps the situation would have been different i dont know. Where theres truth theres justice and justice there's Judgment
this makes me sad but more angry. Sad. these poor people did not deserved to fukin die the way they did. who really knows? perhaps their cousins, uncles, brothers were really VC sympathizers. maybe intel was wrong. if u think about Charlie Company. theyve lost a lot of their buddies to sniper, bobby traps, mostly with nobody, no VC to shoot back at and so that made them really wanna kill anyone that gets in their way. theres no glory in war . . .theres only death.
@TeamRedz your comment is incredibly stupid. of course what they did is wrong, but i don't want to know what you or me would do to innocent people if we were in the situation those soldiers were. don't judge them, they were at war. a guerilla war the world hasn't seen before with an enemy that doesn't wear a uniform. i admire this man for his courage to speak about what he did. it kind of destroyed his life too.
@TeamRedz look i don't want to justify nothing, what they did is horrible. but your country sends young men to war which didn't make sense to many back home. stuff like that happened in iraq too. i know some soldiers refused to shoot in the my lai massacre, but do you really think every one of those who did shoot were born evil? war is ugly, especially such frustrating unconventional wars. those who still don't regret what they did maybe are truly bad. the black guy killed himself in 1997 btw.
@Ch4M4L That a pretty shitty excuse. Yeah blame everything on the war, not the individuals who actually did the crime. The only guy who got charged received a presidential pardon and is still alive today. I bet you think that's fair too.
Better for them to live and be tormented and faced with the actions they have done for the rest of there lives. I bet everyone of those men hasn't slept a night since it happened. Good on them.
@Greatherlorre Those men deserved death. You have a lousy excuse to justify the US government not punishing their own guys for what they did ! Its a lie that all those men feel guilty: Calley expected to be paid 10 000 dollars for answering a journalist's questions on the massacre even though he did apologize. Apology is free. U are just siding with ur people.
How dare that "man" claim that American military training "kicks in" and causes you to mutlilate unarmed noncombatants. And then when the interviewer calls him on this, to defend his actions by saying "well everyone else was doing it" .As High Thompson said, these people were thugs and renegades engaging in cold blooded murder. They should have served long long jail time. At least we can hope they burn in hell.
All you people saying "fuck America" need to look at the people being interviewed. They feel bad about it and the actions don't reflect what Americans think about human beings. All the people who call Varnado Simpson an animal need to grow some sympathy. The man killed himself because he felt so bad about what he did. And America is not the only country to have committed such crimes, I know it's not right and it shouldn't happen but war SUCKS. People die because that's what Wars do
@HufflepuffTheGreat no, it just reflects what the U.S goverment thinks of human life. Did you know that the U.S has funded 23 of the 25 worlds dictators. They killed 100,000 innocent civilians in 'Nam and Cambodia. The U.S goverment has killed more civilians that Pol Pot or Stalin. So what if they feel bad? Because of that they should earn forgivness? Because they gave up the God given right to think freely the should be forgiven? We don't forgive Nazi's, and some of them aided the jews.
@KurtCobain198666 lol. Stalin killed more than 50 million of his own people. I'm pretty sure the US isn't guilty of that.
And define "dictators." I'm sure there's more than 25 in the WHOLE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. And Stalin was one of them, by the way. Along with Mao, and every single other sick fuck who thought that Communism can actually work in a modernized world.
To coward Fred Widmer: you are not an example that should be allowed in public buildings as schools. You are an example of how a loser responds to what have happened. You were part of it and are no trying to clean your loser conscience by crying in front of US kids of how the system made you do that. Fuck your losers bonding. Shooting at point-blank range through a baby's head because he/she was considered to be loyal to VC. C'mon Fred, pick up that gun, put it at your head and pull the trigger
I speak Vietnamese and understanding her was even more excruciating. She said in Vietnamese "It hurt like someone just cut off her liver apart not just her heart!"
Frederick Widmer gives me the creeps. I have read literature whereby Widmer's troops said he enjoyed killing, and there have been those who place much blame for My Lai at his door. I don't know, because I wasn't there..... but Widmer's cool recollection of that day gives me a bad feeling that the rumors about me may be correct.
Nothing was happening? Lying fucking chink. Bitch knows they were supporting the VC. Why else were the troops being attacked in the area with intel telling them that the VC was there?
R u stupid? Her dear own mother was killed without mercy!. How would you feels like if they killed ur mother and rape ur child? Do you know what that would feels like? People like you don't have a heart. You are no better than an animal!
@princeofwinter that's what I think though, but this stupid animal does not understand, Perhaps we should not discuss this matter with this animal because it's really no use to get an animal to understand human being's feeling. :(
I'm so sad because of the very existence of this animal on our beautiful planet :(
This is really hard for me to watch and listen to. I feel sorry for the people and for the soilders. That is some hard sh*t to deal with. To live with that your whole life. My question is...what if the shoe was on the other foot and some other country came to the U.S. or some town here and killed everyone and everything....how could you justify that....you couldn't ...WRONG IS WRONG!!! and this was WRONG!!
Damn life can be crazy. The actions we take today can effect the rest of our life...... I don't understand why murder is frowned upon in only some instances.
To this animal who calls the Black soldier a savage, don't forget that white people have committed more mass murders and genocides than any other race. White people are the only ones who have left their homelands and traversed thousands of miles to murder and rape whole races. If anyone has a primal atavistic propensity for violence, it is the white man. Study your history, cretin.
@lifeandfire1 One could say the same to you. If whites are the only ones who have left their homelands and traversed thousands of miles to murder and rape whole races, what was the Reconquista about? What was the importance of the Battle of Vienna (17th century)? The Mongol conquest of China? The Japanese conquest of China? The Rape of Nanking?
@lifeandfire1 Because Europeans always had control. At least for the last 2k years. The slave can inflict very little suffering on the masters. Please remember whites killed a lot of whites. Race for power does not racially discriminate.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This Negro isn't just talking about his training, but is unconsciously addressing his atavistic Negro soul, THE SAVAGE. The savage overwhelmed the superficial Christian veneer.
it would have been better to have been the people shot and killed than be the one's who did the shooting as you can see the obvious guilt and mental anguish these soldiers have been carrying with them for so long......truthfully, everyone dies in war! Just different ways
people that were innocent...that's like the 9/11 so many people going on with regular life that are not connected with and terriorest actions were killed...for what...now expand that to a whole city or village where no one lives...that is a horrible thing to even want to be a part of in anyway!
the American response to this part their history... blame it on Nazi Germany... why is it that in any US war crime videos on youtube everyone blames it on Nazi Germany, it was 70 years ago get over it.
@MrSpieldose Well, of course the masters of that are the Israelis-ALL of their enemies are Hitler reincarnated. They have an army, navy, and air force and "special forces" and we are supposed to believe they are in danger of being overrun by Hamas and Hezbulah. Of course, Poppy Bush borrowed the Hitler rationale at the time of Gulf War 1. Question: how the hell stupid and gullible are the American people that the father and his son can both scam us into war only 10 years apart?
I dont see the pint to this..... why should war exist when it brings so much pain? does it makes people happy? to get power by killing? when they sleep in luxurious houses builded in taken territory, doesn't it bothers them? don't they think
"ah, i'll sleep where my men killed "x" number of people" too sad, such a sad world...we are so pityful
Everybody knows that the Nazis, Japanese Imperialists and Commies were responsible for the decimation of the Native American Indians, the enslavement of blacks on the North American Continent, the pretextual wars against Mexico and Spain including the massacres in the Phillipines. We cannot forget that either Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin gave the order for the burning of Atlanta. by General Sherman.
True enough and well said. It's a good thing that you don't believe in God because if you did you would know that God created all those pieces of shit. Glad to hear that you aren't brainwashed by religion.
What we did to the people of Vietnam was WRONG,and yes, there were many war crimes committed there by the US.But,this is nothing compared to what we are doing in Iraq today. What goes around,Comes Around...ONE will REAP,what one has sown...
Sadly, that's true. As a people, the US needs to realize that we are allowing our govt to fulfill their sick fucking agenda with the armies that are meant to be our protection. It's so sad, really
Another totally clueless Brit trying to tell America how to run it's business.
Our "warring mentality" didn't make those GIs kill civilians.
They were minimally-trained draftees being forced to fight and die in a losing guerrilla war against a country and a people they didn't know or care about while their own country hung them out to dry.
THAT is what made them into monsters.
You're a "student". Ever heard of the Zimbardo prison experiment? Go look it up. Everybody's capable of atrocity.
America has supported or has directly been at war with 19 3rd WORLD countries since WWII.
That's pretty suggestive of a nation at war with the world. Oh wait, is there another lab study you'd like to pull out of your thick head to explain that those acts, were in fact, not acts of war, but love.
" tell America how to run it's business"?? u serious? It's that kind of blind arrogance with which u misconstrue the simplest of statements that has ruined your reputation in the world.
Oh, and in regard to My Lai, the strategy of shooting the peasantry rarely worked in Vietnam. As was the example at My Lai, all of those villagers were the relatives of active VC members who lived in that village. That's why there were no able-bodied men. They had wisely split the scene beforehand, knowing that the women, children and old men were off limits to the GIs. Shooting them surely only pissed the VC off worse, but more importantly, it accomplished nothing and was merely a tantrum.
Very, very true, and an excellent point. What a soldier is capable of in the heat of battle is not the same as what his conscience and morale can handle.
Varnado Simpson eventually killed himself, just like he promised he would.
1:40 poor woman...omg ....the americans took her life away she has nothing to live for.....
my goal in life is to punish the americans that ruined every country they inslave blacks, kill iraqis, make them look like the bad guys, like they arent either, my lai, etc. the list goes on.
fuck america. hopefully obama changes america like he said
because america is the only country that has ever done any of those things? its certainly not an excuse but your definitely holding a double standard there
Don't be a stupid douchebag. Grow up and face reality. The human race is in a constant state of war with itself. 95% of all cultures throughout history have engaged in war, with 70% of them doing so on a regular and offensive basis for various reasons. The idea that you're NOT supposed to simply massacre the entire enemy population during an invasion is a relatively recent idea in warfare. I am not defending Calley or the My Lai massacre, but remember that this isn't a new thing the US invented.
I'm a Vietnamese-American. And it doesn't feel good hearing these things. But you know, all humanity has been guilty of horrible atrocities, many of them just as bad as the My Lai massacre and also on a larger scale.
hivelocity100: Sssssh! You'll upset the little European kiddies with their brains full of pop music, their hearts full of hatred and their ears full of lies.
For the record, I have been to Vietnam since the fall, and I am impressed at how little resentment is harbored by the people. War is ugly, and guerrilla war is terribly ugly. Glad we lost so both sides could stop wasting young men's lives.
Of course its terrible, but humans are sick animals. Dont make it out to be an American phenomenon. It would be hard to find a war anywhere where horrible acts arent commited. The US just happends to get alot of it on film. Other nations are more thorough in their covering up
Well, I wasn't referring to Germany, but thanks for the childish insult. Did you have a point or were you just being ignorant? Wait dont answer, I already know.
Nobody is really clever in covering up anything. Just because YOU have not read or heard about something does not mean its totally covered up. It means YOU are lacking knowledge. Shit, just scratch the surface a little and war crimes from the Peninsular Wars are uncovered. It is the same through more recent history.
Wow, you have atorch up your ass. I was only stating that the US, with it's liberal media standards, is an easy target for demonization. Im aware of other atrocities around the globe. I think you missed my point, which was directed to the posters here that claimed that the US was the only country that commits war crimes. Re-read my posts and think a bit before you attack me like a little dog
I WAS just pointing out that it is untrue what you said about war crimes being covered up.
If you want to get all right wing over the media and call it liberal. Before you really start I should tell you that Reporters Without Borders puts the U.S in the third category for freedom of the press. Below Canada, Australia and most of Scandinavia.
Why do you people always have to sneak some blaming liberals in somewhere?
You dont think that various govts around the world have not attempted to cover up war crimes? Im not talking about the media, Im talking about the people that did it. The Nazis tried in vain to cover up the exptent. The Kmer in Cambodia tried to cover their tracks, again too much was impossible to hide. Those are only 2 examples. Read up on things before you pointlessly try and argue something.
You really think we hear everything that happens and none of it gets covered up? You cant be that naive. The US tried to cover this My Lai thing too, but a couple of people got it out in the open. What about the countries with very little press freedom? Do you think all the atrocities are out in the open? My original point was that the US isnt the only country that commits war atrocities. Can you say that the US is the only one? The world wide media catches very little of the total crimes
deathshadow69: I was in Vietnam and I can tell you this,do your math and research. The US has comitted more atrocities, and murder around the world, than any other country.AND YES we cover it up,with help of the mind control media.
I wasn't saying, or ever said, that we don't do those things, I said we weren't the only ones, that humans have always been brutal and sick. Out gov't has gone out of its way to fuck with everyone, so yes of course we commit vast amounts of these atrocoties. My point was not to shake any blame off of the US or downplay it. I was just making a comment on humanity in general
Bullzeye95 :You call me an embarrassment for for telling the truth.I guess it's true, the truth hurts..You make excuse's for the assholes that murdered innocent unarmed people.Try to make an excuse,if a soldier did this to a member of your family,,,In Vietnam,we were told to kill civilians, and prisoners,by our CO's...you go fuck YOURSELF
What truth? You said that the US has committed more murder and atrocity than any other country in history. That's a straight up fucking lie, a total and unmitigated piece of propaganda bullshit that's just not true.
I never said the US hasn't killed a lot of innocent civilians. In fact, we do it every day, surely thousands each year.
That doesn't even begin to come close to the number of innocent people murdered in cold blood by Communist Russia, China or Cambodia or Nazi Germany. Look it up.
Well, yeah, there is that too. but still my original point was to the poster I was originally responding to who said it was only the US that did horrible things like that. Then the tards jumped on and twisted around my original point. I certainly wasnt making any form of excuse for these animals in the video. Overall, I blame various US administrations' idiotic foreign policy of fucking with the whole world.
According to the UNHCR (UN High Commissioner for Refugees) estimate, at least 500,000 boat people lost their lives on their jouney for freedom, not mentioning 95,000 army officials of former South Vietnam died in "reeducation " camps established by communists.
Total Vietnamese democide by communists: 1,040,000 (1975-87)
The communist authority in Vietnam orchestrates the agent orange lawsuit as a propaganda for money through Nguyen Trong Nhan, a former health minister who is a vice chairman of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange, and millions of dollars of compensation for victims would end up in the pockets of corrupt high-ranking officials as in the case of PMU-18 scandal in which foreign aid was used to gamble and pay for prostitutes. (Vietnam ranked as one of most corrupt nations in Asia)
these mother fuckers make me sick to my stomac .after all the wars america has been though, and they do somthing so unconstitutional like this pisses me off. i know its war but what happend to american decency? killing innocent victims, raping women and children? they are no different than the cold blooded killers, pedofiles and rapist we have in our country. they are no better than the natzis killing the jews in wwII. they dont deserve to remain in our country.
Neros666Lion, to think that My Lai was the only attrocity that the American soldiers committed in Vietnam is pure ignorance. Of course 30 men dont represent America, but they do represent the effects of the dehumanisation that is too frequently involved in America's military. Don't think its still happening, have a look at Abu Ghraib in Iraq. History repeats itself.
30 men dont represent America. You will sit here and say that they do for the rest of your lives, but they dont. You are all eating what is being fed to you, and that is dissent.
"U.S. infantrymen had killed 128 Communists in a bloody day-long battle."
What do our american brothers say to Colin Powell, who checked the detailed letter of Abrams and promoted the conclusion "the relationship betwenn US soldiers and Vietnamese people were excellent"
The US government is as guilty as the soldiers that commited these acts because they failed to punish them. They let them off to protect the senior officers that issued the orders. If you train people to become mindless killers, this is what can happen.
You can see the look in the veterans eyes, their souls have gone. I don't actually think these are evil people, but what they did was pure evil. The orders were evil.
The women and children were begging and begging to be spared. And they were still killed? How in the fukin world is that ok? Oh wait... Frederick562 said it's ok it's war.. war is war..
Im American and Im disgusted that our government has allowed these people to live free to this day. 25 of them, never spent a day in prison. They killed over 500people, three times the amount that were killed in the Mumbai attacks. But because it happened during war, they get to skate free while those mumbai terrorists are all dead or getting their punishment.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
well you havent been to a warzone. i havent either. but i asume after seeing ur buddies getting blown up by traps all over the place. you wouldnt know who to kill. and you wouldnt really give a fuck anymore
Well most people DID give a fuck stupid. Most people DID refuse to take part. You heard it yourself. Over 100 men were down there, less than 30 actually did the killing, there were many who had the same training and experiences who simply refused to shoot. Hugh Thompson stepped in and stopped it. Anybody could have played that role, and they chose not to, he stepped up.
I agree. Just because it's war gives no excuse to say it's ok or it's acceptable to kill innocent ppl. It's a universal rule of human decency. Anyone who opposes is another stinkin pile of pig american trash.
Fuck You! If that's your pathetic excuse to say it's ok to kill women children and elderly in war zones? Then I hope and pray that someone kills your fukin kid. See how it feels you cold ignorant fag.
Somehow I just find it hard to look at these veterans crying and feel sorry for them. It's not as easy to shoot a crying kid in the face as they make it out to be.
stifftler9: As a member of the US armed services, this incident is appalling; It makes me sick. I would ask you, however, to prove that whatever country you're from doesnt have some sort of disgusting secret. Do that and you may be justified in your comments which insult the honorable warriors of MY country. Understand too that this is an incident heavily criticized by courses on military ethics and professionalism. I urge you, once again, to do some research before generalizing all Americans.
why arent these muderers behind bars? becoz those god damned yanks can do anything they want....so we get to watch these pieces of shit, the pride of US forces weep about how they massacred innocent people.....still free, except for their filthy conscience......anyone else would be prosecuted .....but the yanks did the same in Korea, their practicing ground for the barbarity they committed in VN.........God will never bless america.
Those are some strong words coming from someone who lives in a country built entirely by cast off criminals who massacred the native population. Every country has something for which to be ashamed. Do we call all Germans Nazis? All British Colonialists? All Italians fascists? They should be behind bars, no doubt. But stop blaming an entire country on the crimes of a few. We do a lot of good in this world, too. Maybe if China is the next superpower, you will be begging for us...
the americans stood by us till the end of 72 when nixon resigned and ford became president and abandoned us we then lost the war in 75 due to shortage of ammo and weapons while the north was supplied by russia and china if america wouldve keeped aiding us the south wouldve won
its disgusting..i wonder how many of the deceased people in these pictures were even a threat to the BIG BAD american soldiers with fully automatic m-16 trained and programmed to kill by there democratic freedom loving nation??!
One cannot help but wonder how many My Lais have taken place in Iraq and Afghanistan, that we don't as yet know about? My Lai is proof that all humans, regardless of their national origin, can be turned into Nazi dogs.
The title of this video comes from a book of the same name, which is must reading. The CO of 1/20 inf was the one who gave the order to his company commanders to kill everyone in the village. He, of course, got off scot-free, while the Army passed the buck down to 2nd Lt William Calley.
I was very affected watching the MY LAI films and reading your very true and powerful comments.
I believe you should distribute this on a disc. Those victims cry out from their graves to let the world know what was done to them.
Governments have gone to great lengths for over 40 years to keep these films from being viewed but such hauntingly painful images and words must be known.

People die because that's what Wars do
HufflepuffTheGreat 1 year ago
@HufflepuffTheGreat no, it just reflects what the U.S goverment thinks of human life. Did you know that the U.S has funded 23 of the 25 worlds dictators. They killed 100,000 innocent civilians in 'Nam and Cambodia. The U.S goverment has killed more civilians that Pol Pot or Stalin. So what if they feel bad? Because of that they should earn forgivness? Because they gave up the God given right to think freely the should be forgiven? We don't forgive Nazi's, and some of them aided the jews.

To this animal who calls the Black soldier a savage, don't forget that white people have committed more mass murders and genocides than any other race. @lifeandfire1 One could say the same to you. If whites are the only ones who have left their homelands and traversed thousands of miles to murder and rape whole races, what was the Reconquista about? Another totally clueless Brit trying to tell America how to run it's business.
Our "warring mentality" didn't make those GIs kill civilians.
They were minimally-trained draftees being forced to fight and die in a losing guerrilla war against a country and a people they didn't know or care about while their own country hung them out to dry.
THAT is what made them into monsters.
You're a "student". Ever heard of the Zimbardo prison experiment? Go look it up. Everybody's capable of atrocity.

Bullzeye95 2 years ago
I'm a Vietnamese-American. And it doesn't feel good hearing these things. But you know, all humanity has been guilty of horrible atrocities, many of them just as bad as the My Lai massacre and also on a larger scale.

hivelocity100: Sssssh! You'll upset the little European kiddies with their brains full of pop music, their hearts full of hatred and their ears full of lies.

deathshadow69 2 years ago
You think you know, but you do not.
Nobody is really clever in covering up anything. Just because YOU have not read or heard about something does not mean its totally covered up. It means YOU are lacking knowledge. Shit, just scratch the surface a little and war crimes from the Peninsular Wars are uncovered. It is the same through more recent history.
pisswizard 2 years ago
Wow, you have atorch up your ass. I was only stating that the US, with it's liberal media standards, is an easy target for demonization. Im aware of other atrocities around the globe. I think you missed my point, which was directed to the posters here that claimed that the US was the only country that commits war crimes. Re-read my posts and think a bit before you attack me like a little dog
deathshadow69 2 years ago
I WAS just pointing out that it is untrue what you said about war crimes being covered up.
If you want to get all right wing over the media and call it liberal. Before you really start I should tell you that Reporters Without Borders puts the U.S in the third category for freedom of the press. Below Canada, Australia and most of Scandinavia.
Why do you people always have to sneak some blaming liberals in somewhere?
pisswizard 2 years ago
You dont think that various govts around the world have not attempted to cover up war crimes? Im not talking about the media, Im talking about the people that did it. The Nazis tried in vain to cover up the exptent. The Kmer in Cambodia tried to cover their tracks, again too much was impossible to hide. Those are only 2 examples. Read up on things before you pointlessly try and argue something.
deathshadow69 2 years ago
You really think we hear everything that happens and none of it gets covered up? You cant be that naive. The US tried to cover this My Lai thing too, but a couple of people got it out in the open. What about the countries with very little press freedom? Do you think all the atrocities are out in the open? My original point was that the US isnt the only country that commits war atrocities. Can you say that the US is the only one? The world wide media catches very little of the total crimes
deathshadow69 2 years ago
deathshadow69: I was in Vietnam and I can tell you this,do your math and research. The US has comitted more atrocities, and murder around the world, than any other country.AND YES we cover it up,with help of the mind control media.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
well you havent been to a warzone. i havent either. but i asume after seeing ur buddies getting blown up by traps all over the place. you wouldnt know who to kill. and you wouldnt really give a fuck anymore
Frederick562 2 years ago

These soldiers disapoint me deeply and not just these alot more in vietnam did crimes like these.
I can't haha grapple wat the hell is wrong with these men they weren sent to protect the people not shoot them into ditchs!
The americans always tryed their best to make them co operate but when they didn't bam they fire.
Its like giving a dog a piece of meat but if the piece isn't big whoever gave the meat will be bitten!

One cannot help but wonder how many My Lais have taken place in Iraq and Afghanistan, that we don't as yet know about? My Lai is proof that all humans, regardless of their national origin, can be turned into Nazi dogs.

lancerPI, i totally agree with you the bush administration did not authorize that much media into iraq. we only heard about haditha and abu ghraib.

With highest respect, David in NYC
