@keith4chelsea haha do you have any idea what youre talking about? you do not need torque at all when driving in the snow. you have no traction to be able to use any amount of torque. he could have a 1.0L 3 cylinder out of a smart car making about 70 horsepower and perfom exactly the same as a built 502 or something in the snow. it makes no differense unless you have the means to transfer that torque to the road.

@ropoly WTF, i can not tell you the brand of tires but i can tell you (by looking at the size and tred of the tires) that they are not off road tires, also if you look at the lack of grip he is getting from them it is fairy obvisios they are not suited to the job. I would recomend in future if you wish to keep using these tires in snow then you invest in snow chains, also we have found the BF Goodrich tires to work very well for us.

land rover should atleast consider offering some decent tires for the north american market rather than destroy their own reputation in snow or off road. offering a different set of tires will let the owner know that if they get stuck they're the one's at fault for choosing the tires specifically made for dry conditions rather than A/T tires =P

LR won't put decent tires on them because Range Rover has become just another suburban vehicle. I bet 90% of the Range Rovers bought every year will never see anything but asphalt. The people that buy them don't want the noise that comes with a good set of tires. It's a shame, I for one know that with good tires they can go pretty much anywhere.

Well I've had two range rovers & they've both been nothing but trouble. @ 13k miles my second one needed a new transmission. Bought a 2004 Grand Cherokee with 11k on the clock, now has done 50k and all I've had to do is replace oil & filter, brake pads & discs and recently a new set of tyres.

The 4 wheel drive system (quadradrive) is incredible especially in the snow and although permanent 4wd, doesn't trash tyres.

Jeeps are the original 4x4, drovers are a cheap and inferior welsh copy.
