The actual Korean director of this film, and the main animator, also worked on TF G1. They're credited for storyboards on TF:TM and G1 season 3. Look for the names "Soo Young Chung"/"Soo Young Chun" and "Young Sang Yoon."

This would be like someone working on an Alien ripoff for Roger Corman, and going on to work on the next Alien movie. (And yes, that really happened. The people in charge of effects for "Galaxy of Terror" went on to work on "Aliens"...including someone named JAMES CAMERON.)
