Let me end the debate. I used to play in a band with Tim during those college years he mentioned and he used to sing for us. He's definitely singing the lead on this song. No doubt about it. I'm 100% sure.

The song appears to be about death and the album was dedicated to Tim dad who died while they were recording it. It would make sense that its Tim.
