  • your version is right there mate.brilliant.

  • Fantastic cover!

southpawjay, I like your style. Your sound is emotional and technical at the same time.

  • Awesome man Awesome!!!! That really gave me goosebumps. I've loved this song since it first came out when I was a sophomore in hs.....Phenomanal job!!!

  • Such a trip watching a lefty play. You're awesome!

  • Why this song has a tragic title? Isn't it supposed to be happy music?

  • Because of the Ventures' arrangement.

  • The song originally came from a movie the Ventures made their own arrangement from it.

  • now i'm more clear. thx~

  • OMG. That was awsome. You rock.

  • wow, that is simply the best cover I have seen of this great tune.

  • Beautiful! Jazzmasters and Jaguars FTW!

  • Awesome job, Jay!

  • Bravo! I cut my teeth on Ventures stuff (I was a drummer then). Probably did Slaughter 500 times, and it still sends a chill down my spine. You nailed it! Thanks Jay.

  • nice...Sorry to hear about your dad....

  • thanks mike

  • My Jazzmaster is a 1995-96 MIJ and has an American RI bridge pickup installed. I'm really happy with the tone of this guitar. I cant help but play this music when I pick up this guitar. The pod xt live has been a great pedal for "direct to mixer" recording. i can get just the right amount of drive without it becoming distorted. thanks for the comments.

  • Man, Fender could use that video to sell a gazillion Jazzmasters. Excellent playing, and that tone is absolutely spot on. I think I need to take another look at those POD things!

  • great! Nostalgia!

  • thanks, i really loved the early 60s ventures. i'll see what i can come up with in the near future. and as far as an amp....shhhh....i'm using a pod xt live pedal directly into the mixer.

  • THIS REALLY COOKS! Please upload more Ventures tunes! What amp are you using?
