heres what i wanna see, a giant squid vs 3 giant jelllyfish that can move very fast and throw their tentacles at things like spiderman, now that would be awesome
Rofl at the guy saying english language about that... wow. just wow. anyways fish is just basically what most people call aquatic life lol. there is a scientific name for it but fish is much more simple.

what will happen if you shear off all its tenticles ???
snookedyou 3 years ago
Absolutely nothing.
Nothing to the animal that is.
it would regrow the tentacles rather quickly.
I would not advise it though.
Especially not with this particular species.
Its a medusavore, that means it eats smaller jellyfishes. though it can eat other things too.
The Tentacles of this particular species contain very potent Nematocysts, The barbs are quite long and Sick to everything they touch like glue.
Avoid messing with the tentacles unless you want to struggle with them.
Cnidarious 3 years ago
one quick question. what happens if the crown of the jelly fish hits you??? will you get stung or die?
snookedyou 3 years ago

Cnidarious 3 years ago
You mean the Exumbrella?
Thats the the upper part of the bell region.
This particular species does not have enough stinging power to kill you unless you tried to wear like a hat or something.
The Exumbrella contains no Nematocysts in most species, generally its the safest place to touch any jellyfish.
Keep in mind how fragile they are though.
There tissues have roughly the same amount of durability as wet toilet paper.

Well which side of canada do you live in, East or west?
I do not know much about the East coast fauna but the West coast has a few major contributors that result in some rather large jellyfishes.
1. The Oxygen content of the water is higher that in warmer southern waters.
2. There is a seasonal Bloom of phytoplankton in the spring that results in a explosion gelatinous zooplanktons like jellyfishes.
If you live in a coastal location you have probably seen Moon jelly smacks.
