  • hey, dude!

    keep on rocking! sounds good.

  • WANT

  • it's a p90 on your sg

  • getting there, invest in a metronome

  • my love sg guitar :)

  • Comment removed

  • very messy but good i did enjoy

  • sounds good! but you look a little robatronic! throw some marty mcfly swaying in there hahah

  • I'd have to say the SG because the two are pretty much the same, with a different cut and feel, but the SG is lighter and easier to get to the upper frets.

  • muito dahoraa! very good

  • @HeyMcFlyProductions actualy there are some major diferences in the two such as weight, construction methods and the neck. the sg is still the best selling gibson, its lighter with a better neck, the sound allows more top end. im an sg nut (i hate lp axes) so maybey im biased to say this but it was the sg that saved gibson from the strat. ok the sg doesnt sustain aswell but it has more controlable drive and more tones to use, whatever you play an sg will do the job easily (something a lp cant)

  • When I see gibson SG i think of Angus Young

  • @oli367 No doubt the SG is linked with Angus Young, but Angus himself says one of his biggest influences was Chuck Berry. You can definitely hear Chuck Berry licks in Angus' lead work.

  • Is there any guitar that is more beautiful as a Sg on the planet? Not in my opinion !

  • @crazygamer4x4 fuck u man! les paul and stratocaster are a million times better than SG. SG is the ugliest guitar i have ever seen!!

  • @999rockandroll I own a Gibson Les Paul and a Fender Strat and i have to say that the Sg is my favourite, cause it fucking ROCKS !!!

  • @999rockandroll first of all, he just said it's the most beautiful in his opinion - just like "ugly" is your opinion. no need to be rude to people for having an opinion. secondly, les paul and strat better? that's all down to personal preference and a matter of opinion too.

  • Johnny B goode cover + Gibson SG + marshall=what?

  • How in the world are there any dislikes of this vid? Geez.

  • i like that backing track whos version is it? it's cute! what marshall?

  • yeah buyed one today and played THIS song in the guitar shop ;D

  • money,money ,money always sunny

  • my epiphone SG got jealous while I was looking at this, and it was sitting the corner.

  • good work :)

  • 145 people arnt good

  • MBstring i am buying a new guitar soon and i dont know if i should get a gibson sg standard or an epiphone slash appetite for destruction les paul.i like the look of the appetite les paul better i want the guitar that sounds the best.i already have the money so thats not an issue.can you give me any advice.

  • @iamthecodofhalo1 If you have the money, then there is no doubt you should go with the Gibson SG, it is superior to any Epiphone model. Though If the look of the Les Paul is really what you dream of, then I would consider waiting a little more and buy a real Gibson Les Paul. The Standard retails for around $2000, so only about 2 or 3 hundred bucks more than the SG. Anyways, in my opinion any Gibson is better than Epi, not just as a matter of sound but of comfortabilily and quality of materials.

  • im into bands like metallica and guns n roses an motley cru, would u recoment this for me? i was also thinkin about replacin the stalk pockups with EMG's any suggestionss??

  • This guitar is a welcome justification to quit your math homework on the desk ;)

  • @dubbly1 I have the same musical taste than you do and my dream (if I had the money, I'm only 15) would be a (1959) Les Paul Standard. She has THE Tone and Jimmy Page (my fav), Clapton, Billy Gibbons, Paul Kossof, Slash, Mick Taylor had (1959) Les Paul Standards as their main guitars.

But Tony Iommi, Angus Young, Robbie Krieger, Clapton can't be wrong. And they used SG Standards.

Listen to that (why I'm gonna buy a SG) [error, so type "Eric Clapton & his Gibson SG"]

Or listen to Highway to Hell.

  • i got a sg ....i put 2 57´s pickups on it.....i can tell u guys..it sounds great! very vintage! i will post a video...

  • daora legal !!!

  • sei fuori tempo zio

  • nice cover dude.....man i want a sg so bad!!!

  • You play good but ur often out of Rhythm!

  • buy a metronome ...

  • well played, but totally out of time.

  • sg good

  • whats the action like on this guitar? great vid btw

  • i just bought a 2010 sg standard ebony and i wish i could put a thinner neck on it, i dont really like the neck much. i like my strat neck more, but i do like the tone of the sg. i wish there was a guitar w/ both.

  • I'm into bands like; Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Cream, the Rolling Stones, and the Who. I'm a novice guitar player and would like an honest opinion on which guitar is better: the SG or the Les Paul. Thanks for posting, nice cover too!

  • @dubbly1 I would choose the les paul, for music like this! But you should try both and see which one do you like better. If your a total beginner choose the one that feels better in your hands, the one you are more comfortable with. Sg is a great guitar also and should do this genres very well and it's also more affordable!

  • @MBString how mutch did that guitar cost because im thinking about getting one

  • @dubbly1 Oh, and depending on the bands you like, i would consider about buying a fender telecaster too and choose one of these three guitars

  • @dubbly1 there's no better guitar, you buy a guitar because you love it, not because it's the best .

  • @dubbly1

    SG all the way.

  • @dubbly1 i think for your lovly bands is the les paul better ...because its an alroundguitar

  • @dubbly1 Great bands my friend!

  • @dubbly1 well jimmy page used a les pual for most of zeps stuff but then again he also used a double neck sg, and george harison used a lespual but then again he also used like every guitar ever, um clapton from cream used a les paul on the bluesbreakers record, (1 of the best guitar tones in history), and mick taylor and keith richards used a les paul for the best period of the stones, pete townsend also used a les paul

  • @dubbly1 if you were into Zeppelin you'd know Jimmy Page uses a LES PAUL.. a LES PAUL.. annnnnd a LES PAUL! come on man. SG will sound more Beatles-esqu. Cream, Rolling Stones, The Who would do either or but if you like Zeppelin get yourself a Les Paul Standard

  • @dubbly1 You probably know this already but the SG model was once called a "Les Paul". It was endorsed by Les Paul before it became known as "Solid Guitar" and some very early models have the Les Paul insignia on the headstock so there's not alot in it...it's all down to which shape you prefer. I have to say, access to the upper frets is easier on an SG.

  • @dubbly1 Les Paul and Sg can honesly sound the same, the les paul contains more sustain due to the heavy ness of the body. and the Sg has more of a crunch due to the humbuckers to small body ratio. tone is all in the fingers man. play whats comfterble

  • @dubbly1 I can tell you from personal experience from 3 years of playing fender , DONT BUY FENDER , people think thier guitars are good i have a $1000 2008 Custom Fender Stratocaster , and it was a total waste of money on a piece of crap , had to fix it up to and still sucks , poorly set up . Buy Epiphone , Gibson SG , Les paul , those COMPLETLY suit the bands your into , and make sure its a medium pricy guitar , you would want a guitar you could grow into and still play it as a intermidiate

  • @TaylorA541 Just because you had a poorly set up Strat, doesn't mean that all Fender guitars are crap. I have a Mexican-made Tele and I love it, and I once had an Epiphone Les Paul and it was crap. Gibson-type guitars and Fender-type guitars have entirely different characters and one is not necessarily better than the other. Horses for courses. My favourite guitar is my Ibanez jazz box, so...

  • @lexo30 I didint say cause it was poorly set up i said after i fixed it up , still sounded horrible. well most fender guitars IV played , I think fender should only be used for blues and an occasional rock song but honestly thier not that great

  • @dubbly1 The guitar that those particular bands have most in common is the Les Paul - Page, Harrison, Clapton and Townshend all used the Les Paul as a main guitar at one time or another. If I had the money to buy either I'd buy a Les Paul, cause I think they're prettier and have more sustain. But I wouldn't turn down a free SG if somebody offered me one. (After all, the SG was good enough for Zappa, Tony Iommi, Clapton, Angus Young, Bill Frisell...)

  • @dubbly1 just 3 years ago I was in your exact shoes, however I got an SG and les Paul both on the same day, and I prefer the Sg for straight up rock, and the Les Paul for blues if that helps any

  • @dubbly1 hey this may be a bit late but if you're still a beginner in need of a guitar, a squire tele is the way to go. they're built very well, and switch out the pickups and bridge the better you get and it's amazing.

  • @dubbly1 they are both amazin guitars but you need to know what you wanna play. the SG is a metal or hard rock guitar and the les paul is more a mellow rock type of thing for this particular song i would choose a les paul.

  • @dubbly1

i think SG, because the sound is crunchier, my opinion

  • @dubbly1 Les Paul is universal guitar, SG is more for rock-n-roll : ) Both are good choice.

  • @dubbly1 I'm a big fan of the SG myself, I prefer the sound better. As MBString said, the style of music is a big factor. For harder stuff (Zepp, Cream, Who, AC/DC) I'd go with the SG, but for a more blues sound go with the Les Paul. You really can't go wrong, because I think they are the two best. Fender is a good brand and has a better neck, but Gibson has a better sound (just personal opinion, no basis in fact). Clapton sounded better with an SG than a Fender I think.

  • @montereypopfestiva67 the 2010 model epiphone G-400 1962 sg is considerd by

many pro guitarist to be the best SG out there today .

  • @stratdem which pro guitarists?

  • @dubbly1 yeh im the same as you, i got the sg because it was more comfortable and at the end of the day, i thought it was cooler.

  • @dubbly1 really i agree with MBString, you should buy the guitar you feel the most comfortable with, obviously, the les paul and the SG, have diferent sounds, the Les Paul, has a very soft sound, while the SG has the contrary, I would choose the les paul, because, the SG after playing it for some time, it starts annoying me, and that doesn't happen with the les paul, but it's only my opinion

  • @dubbly1 Both are great guitars. SG has a bit of crunchy tune, and Les Paul has bit smoother tune. Les Paul has a thicker neck and it's heavier. But, as MBString said, you should try both to know witch one you find better. (hope you decide for SG :) )

  • there's no big deal having expensive equipment and don't play well... keep estudying /,,/

  • niice thats so cool

  • That's absolutely awesome.

  • u dont keep in time

  • Fantastic cover man !!

Very creative playing, GO GO GO KEEP ROCKIN` >>>

  • Do Gibson Sgs have as good tone quality and sound as a Gibson Les Paul?

  • Best Gibson made guitar

  • amazing just amazing i get so jealous when i watch things like this im just learning how to play its sooo hard and you make it look easy.

  • an SG is like sexy lady u see walking down the street; ur, at first, attracted to the light weight and high fret access

a les paul is like a beautiful woman u want to marry, u will play it once and be with it forever

  • nice

  • hey do you know if you can change a epiphone sg neck to a gibson sg neck?

  • @PumpkinFan123 As far as i know you cant, because the neck is glued on it's not a bolt on. But you can add bindings or change the whole fretboard.

  • @MBString your right it would ruin the sound of the epiphone because the gibson neck isnt ment to be taken off. leftover glue would keep the neck from touching the body wich is a big factor in sound.

  • @MBString or you can just trash your epiphone and buy a gibson. epiphones are just pieces of shit modeled after gibsons. get rid of the epi.

  • @MBString its not glues on either, well the epiphones might be, but gibsons are all one piece

  • @PumpkinFan123 well gibsons are usually set necks which means they are glued on...... i dunno if u wanna deal with the trouble of taking the neck off and resetting it so that it sits perfectly the way it should

  • @PumpkinFan123 no. because if someone sold me a piece of shit guitar with a gibson sticker on the headstock id beat there ass.

  • @PumpkinFan123 any thing is possible if you have enough money. If you’re truly interested in having one I recommend checking out Warmoth they make custom guitars/guitar parts. They can and will make practically anything imaginable. Case in point if everything goes right in the next year I'll be having them make a custom Gibson LP with a compound radius Fender Stratocaster neck =)

  • @PumpkinFan123 why would you want to do that?

  • @PumpkinFan123 I doubt Gibson would let anyone sell Gibson SG necks separately unless it's directly from Gibson for repair.

  • @PumpkinFan123 why would you do that? same pro guitarist

prefer the 2010 model Epiphone G-400 62 SG neck over the Gibson

standard and most certainly the Gibson faded sg necks. the 2010

Epiphone G-400 62 SG neck has a much better feel and its faster.

  • @PumpkinFan123 thats actually a bad idea because it messes with the vibration. The wood on a specific guitar is all the same if you were to attach wood from a different tree it would mess up the sound

  • @PumpkinFan123 you could if you remove the glue from the neck

  • @PumpkinFan123

no gibson guitars as far as i know have set necks so i dont think you can swap an epiphone neck for an sg neck

  • @PumpkinFan123

no gibson guitars as far as i know have set necks so i dont think you can swap an epiphone neck for an sg neck

  • @PumpkinFan123 It can be done, but unless you have the skills you need a guitar tech do do it for you. I think they heat up the glue with steam. So you hase a Gibson neck lying around, or do you plan to buy one from say Warmoth? Anyway, it doesn´t sound like worth the the effort. Epi´s indonesian/industrial mahogany with a proper neck? you´ll just end up with a real SG anyway later on. Save the money and hunt for a nice gibson special faded that sounds really good and you connect with instead.

  • toca como el ex guitarrista de three souls in my mind Ernesto de leon

  • a little stift on the playing but so far better then the last i watched.

  • this amazing. i think you're better playing rock 'n roll than playing AC/DC

  • Nice playing! Awesome guitar, very nice crunch from your Marshall! I used to be a Marshall guy, but I just got my hands on my first Mesa/Boogie (rectoverb version 2 combo) and I'll never look back! This amp has truly changed my life!!! (not trying to knock marshall AT ALL)

  • gibson - marshall = goood!!!!

  • Gibson and Marshall were a match made in heaven..

  • @scotty688 more likely down there...;))

  • @scotty688 Totally agree, but im more of a Vox fan, and my lp and firebird can SCREAM through my ac30, but i love marshall's haze series.

  • your dreams arent true til u get alllllll the guitars u want

  • great

  • Great Cover !

I have a Gibson Sg standard Too There great arne't They!

  • They indeed are !.

    It R great guitars !

I have no money for gibson sg !

But I has Epicphone sg !

  • Good ol' Chuck

  • lol XDDDDDDD

  • cut into the Eb a little early and the beginning was a little off, ....but overall not bad...keep on rockin :)

  • ma leati di hulo

  • out of time

  • I love Chuck Berry... But most of his songs all sound the same damn it. He could've been more creative!

  • go with the gibson sg faded it doesnt have the original sound but still its a thousand bucks cheaper and pretty good

  • i love the sg but i dont have much to spend is there a place i could get one for a low price

  • you forgot to break into a heavy metal song, then punch out biff and go back to 1985

  • lol

  • ive been considering three guitars

    1-les paul studio

    2-stratocaster

    3-standard sg

ive seen several reviews and heard both of them play

  • you need to play them all so you know for your self :)

  • Go with the SG. They are cheaper you can reach more of the neck, stripped down musician's guitar. Get your hands on a vintage SG if you can while you can still afford one. You probably can't afford a vintage les paul. Strats are okay but to get one that is decent you will spend some money, plus they have the bright stringy sound that is hard to overcome...

  • I prefer SG I think it has a better sound and much lighter and you ge tbetter hold of the neck. but you nned to play theme all and if you go for Les Paul dont buy studio buy standrad sound so much better

  • @ronmoi9 Standard les paul cant sound better than the studio les paul because they have the same pickups

  • This isnt completely true though you are partially right, Pick ups can have a lot to do with the way the guitar sounds, but Studios generally are made with much less quality as the Standards so they could potentially be a difference in sound, but in all actuality- It depends on the individual guitar not just the standard Studio or the Standard...Standard if you will lol

  • the les paul studio is really nice with the heavy "ballsy" gain but its heavy

stratocasters are really versatile and sound great but lack in amount of gain because they don't have humbuckers and have a thinner neck

the sg (my choice) has great sustain especially with a set neck and has a lighter thinner body

-it all really depends on what you are playing and what features matter the most

  • @DrummerofStones well if money is an issue then go with the epiphone SG. its thousands cheaper and same quality. i use that and a peavey vypyr and they are both amazing and very affordable

  • if u sing to, you can be on stage

or get a band and kill metallica

  • beautiful!!!!

  • nice tone dude. what amp are you using and such. sounds good.

  • are SG's lighter and easier to play on than Les Pauls?

  • Yes, SG's are a very light guitars and in general they are very easy to play, especially they are easier to play at higher frets than the les pauls.

  • awesome thanx

  • @MBString i also find that the les pauls are weighed more to the body rather then a balanced weight like the strats, sgs and other guitars

  • god yes sg's own les pauls.

  • oh ya,

    i have a 1963 sg

    and a 2005 les paul.

    the sg is WAY lighter.

also, the neck is thinner and the higher frets are way easier to access.

but, the les paul has a fatter darker tone. the sg is great for lighter music while the LP is better for heavier music.

they are both great guitars though.

i actually play my LP more because i like the fat tone. that and the sg is 46 years old.lol

they both sound great through my vox tube amp.

  • @TheDallyLama but depending if u get the gibson or epiphone versions, gibsons have a much thikcer neck so yeah u can play hiher fretts but its uncomfortable anyways cuz its like holding a damn tree trunk

  • great!!! I love this guitar !

  • great tone.

  • wrong guitar

    but not bad

  • you're right

  • this guitar not matched with this song : its a devil guitar :D take a normal ST

  • Rock n Roll is the Devil's Music, the "Psychedelic Jazz" if you will, but not at Will ;)

  • By that token, since slaves used to rap scripture in the fields to one another to memorize the Bible, that would make Fiddy Cent the music of God. I hate Baptists. They're so stupid and illogical. God can use a waffle if he wants. Who are you to say he can't use rock? You probably also think Jesus turned water into grape juice too.

  • awesome song! awesome guitar!!!

  • that is my dream too! ha.

    great song!

  • what amp would you recommend for a slash sound?

  • either a marshall JCM800, or a JVM

  • @Alu122112211221 Line 6...insane setting. amazing amps. Try the Spider 3 (III) or Spider 4 (IV).

  • greatscott

  • what amp is this goin through?

    cheers

  • jcm 900

  • perfect may i ask were u learned the song from?

  • gift me ur guitar plx XDDD ur sound it´s so awesome XDDD

  • great guitar ... ;-)

  • Rock on!

  • sigue los putos tiempos pinche estupido

  • Excellent stuff, you man. Keep it up and keep on rocking.

I just bought a new Gibson SG Standard too [smile]. Great, great guitar and is already my favourite. I also bought a new Marshall 40 watt combo. WOW! Great rocking sound.

  • bad timing. Nice play but stick to the rythm - thats what is RnR all about.

  • excellent !! Bravo mec

  • Next Chuck Berry ? ;)

    5*

  • there is real no differnce between the epiphone g-400 62 and 66 sg's there both crafted with highend hardware for a limited time and there both gibson usa authorized this means there true 62 and 66 reiisue sg's

  • the 2008 and 2009 models that is epiphone g-400 62 and 66 sg's

  • awasome!!! 5/5!

  • awesomeness!!!!

  • those go for 1400 canadian

  • where are the tabs for this?

  • Sing!

  • pretty cool

  • i have that same one just used and 100 years old its every thing but bad

  • xuuu ahora me doy cuenta que la guitarra no tiene nada que ver con como uno se escucha, mucha paila pa dos huevos

  • awsome guitar, how much was it?

  • no está mal, solo saver encadenar lo quue suena de fondo y lo que tu tocas, y no tocar cuerdas herroneas xd

  • malisimooooooo malo malo mucha guitarra para tus dedos

  • SG+MARSHALL= PURE AWESOME! im getting a gibson sg and a marshall mg for christmas god help my mom ill be up all night on it

  • don't get a marshall mg! sorry but they really aren't good. you can get a good tube combo for not much more. if you want marshall get the haze 40 combo. the classic 30 from peavey is great for 60-80s rock tones. tube blows solid state out of the water. believe me i went from an mg to a classic 30. HUGE difference, the overdrive is wayy smoother, and the attack is more natural. i do however suggest the sg, they DO rock. :)

  • also this guys using a jcm900, which is tubed

  • well, ok thanks for telling me, however would you recommend a peavey viper? because i was 50/50 getting a mg or viper but since the mg has a bad tone, and i am looking for 60-80s kind of tones, would the viper be any good?

  • Vypyr is good, the 60 and 120 have tubes in them. the others aren't too bad considering they're modeling amps. also check out the valve king, it's all tube and has a nice ac/dc-ledzeppelin-evh sound. like what ledzepplin said, sg has too much tone for a crappy solid state amp. tube=tone, so look up tube amps by price and go from there. good luck
