So good cycling, the smell, the competition with yourself,no gaz, no harm to nature, just me and that long road, that montain.Ours body are miracles!(me:a bike commuter)
Climbing a 7% grade at 12kmhr? Huh? That is only about 7mph! WTF! I climb hills faster than that on my mountain bike. Too much speeding downhill, and not enough uphill trainiong, imho. :)
wiki says: "As the name might suggest (venteux means windy in French), it can get windy at the summit, especially with the mistral; wind speeds as high as 320 km/h (200 mph) have been recorded. The wind blows at 90+ km/h (56+ mph) 240 days a year. The road over the mountain is often closed due to high winds. Especially the "col de tempêtes" ("storm pass") just before the summit is known for its strong winds."
ehhe... you are right, it is not a great speed, but it's decent. Especially because it was a 160km ride and that was the first climb. Overall, we bike for enjoyment and not performance, we dont mind the speed uphill :)
Actually the downhill was really dangerous, narrow, slippery and full of soil. The same year Evans fell and broke his shoulder during TdF.
@iinfant76 i dont know what he said but i assumed it was stupid... cheers on that ride looks incredible, im starting in cycling, its my third time out, and i do 44km each time, any advice?
@elinfiernoentusojos try 45km ,then 46km.... sounds like you take the same route of 44km each time ,ride to a new place you've never been, that sort of thing, happy cycling.
jejeje excelent video I m from Costa Rica and I m cyclist to, I dream some day ride in those streets hopefully racing I have 20 years old but that s my dream you know the sky is the limit and we have to fight 4 our dreams
Gratz to the video! i am former cyclists . i injured my both knees. but i feel okay and the need for the open roads .. for the speed is just bigger. I'm returning to cycling just for moments like this ! <3 Cycling <3 ! Never stop pedaling
yeah ... not many peoples inderstand the art of cicling ... to all hipocrits that don´t believe in cicling and in miracles i wish good luck to your lifes ...
