There is no pitch bend! it's the On/Off switch. On that particular organ, if you play keys while turning the switch on and off, the pitch will bend up and down.

the hendrix story eminated from Mitch Mitchells (ex Hendrix drummer)tried out for drummer before Palmer. Emerson said on Rock One radio interview it was just press that blew the story out of proportion. Emerson said Hendrix wanted to keep his Band of Gypsies thing going at the time. Emerson did jam with Hendrix a few times as the Nice opened for Hendrix on a Tour.

I asked Keith Emerson at the NAMM show 2009 in Orange Co. if the rumor was true about Hendrix and ELP coming together to form a super group, and he said... "yes it was in the works" OMG!!!! Sadly Jimmy died a couple weeks befeore this project was going to lift off and left us with only imagination.

Keith Emerson, on keyboards, played and released on vinyl a version of this track with his earlier band The Nice in 1967.

...having said all that ..the version by The Nice references both Dave Brubeck's Blue Rondo a la Turk - ( 1959 )and Bach's Italian Concerto -
