  • BRAVO

  • When he says "let the bullet go back into the barrel" i can actually see it happen in slowmotion.

  • This guy cant sing worth shit but that's what makes him awesome!

  • @metalgta4xcon Nah, he can sing. He can sing extremely well. It's just that most of what he sings is too fantastic to be comprehended by human ears.

  • I love this song, although the line " roll my vertebrae out like dice " makes me go eeeww, 'cause I get a really disgusting image in my head

  • i want to listen to this blasting my bike down a country road!

  • BOSS

  • Satisfied is my lastname. But i'm not satisfied!

I WILL HAVE SATIS-PPHFACTION....i WILL BE SATISPFIED...

    WHEN I"M GONE.....

Yup...i want it played on my funeral for sure.

  • wheeen iii'm gooooooooooooone! ! ! !

    i can't stop screaming it!

  • DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xox just sayin

  • out of all the tracks on the new album i like this one best

  • MAESTRO..

  • The wicked message is more of a wink and a nod...since Keith Richards trades licks with Marc Ribot on this track.

  • Tom Waits would Love My Vids

  • @Toracube this is a true statement. this is a cool tune here, right here, he pretty much livin his life to the fullest. got the backing band, got the mobile video action, got the post production, got the pseudo gospel rock roly poly schmuck rock vocal goin in on, the whiskey bent hell bound plug in the barrel, thing goin on,, all man got do is perch up thar an belllow blow, afore he gone,, he gone,, i gone,, giveitawaynow.. what de message to jagguh? anybody can upchuck, call it art

  • @jamesraymondsmith The older he gets the more way out he gets... Which is a lesson to us all. As we get older we are supposed to play safe.. But he ain't having any of that. The guys a genius. Long may he reign !!

Wouldn't lend him any money though haha

  • A wicked message to Mr.Jagger and Mr.Richards!!

  • I heard that every ticket to see Tom Waits perfrom live comes with a complementary sputum shower.

  • Tom is still as wicked as ever.

  • l once bought an old friend 'Rain Dogs' and she said she didn't like Tom Waits? Some just don't get perfection! Wonder if she ever came around?

  • y'know...Tom Waits is good and all that, but he ain't fuckin' Tom Waits!

  • an answer to (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction ...45 years later lol

  • So did Casey Waits play drums on this album? Are there any other drummers on the album besides him and Tom?

  • I have a photographer friend who met tom back in 70's. He asked tom if he could take some photos. Tom slapped down a bottle of bourbon and said " If you want to photograph me, you have to drink with me." God damn Mr. Waits you are incredible

  • This is tom waits, Kieth richards, and Les claypool. playing music together.... i think my brains just spilled out of my ears.

  • come on tom you've covered this territory twice over, give us something fresher

  • @ushojedi what do you even mean.

  • @artemas22 Same structure, same production, same guitar sound/ riffs/ same lyrical style as his last few records. I expect better.

  • @ushojedi Then you should just move your ass and go tell him man, sure he'll listen if you have got something better (that's freaking hard) to suggest instead!

  • @Outskirtssongs If you know how to get in contact with him please tell me. I would have no problem with getting him out of his comfort zone. Creativity is not something you can own, one may hit a beautiful creative streak and then become stuck in that groove out of attachment, as soon as that has happened then creativity has flown off to find someone else.

  • @ushojedi Quite a good answer to those who like artists, and not only songs (I perfectly know it's no logical, but maybe psychological, because when I like some songs from a special artist, and then this artist makes something strange, I have to try to understand it, no matter what it is).

Btw, he is the kind of guy who likes meeting people, around a glass of bourbon, so you should just try I think! tell me what stands out.

  • Waits spend a week in jail for biting a whores nipples off after she claimed he owed her for two instead of one hour.

  • eisai titanas re Tom

  • a song for the glimmer twins...

  • If every person on earth was suddenly turned into a chimp Tom Waits would be our king.

  • @leavetheherbitalone he's a one-eyed man.

  • He's the epitomy of cool!

  • Satisfied!

  • Sounds kinda like Howlin Wolf... It is great.

  • Most musicians need drugs to be good. Drugs need Tom Waits to be good.

  • un vrai déjanté ,mais qu'est ce que c'est bon

  • I cannot wait until his senile dementia album. guy just gets crazier with age.

  • Tips for an amazing music video:

    Go to your back yard.

    Install a strobe light.

    Shoot in black & white,

Let Tom Waits run around being Tom Waits.

  • If everybody would just keep their animals tied up this sort of thing wouldn't bother all the neighbours.

  • Y pensar que Joaquín Sabina usa el mismo sombrerito que Tom Waits. De ilusiones se vive. No saquemos al muchacho de su error.

  • Youtube is full of 15-year-olds blathering "I listen to Tom Waits, hence I'm cool; cheers!" And you know what? They're right.

  • I hear this song today for the first time, like it so much i started doing weird movements with my hands.

  • il genio

  • The moves on Tom. A back garden, a spotlight and one camera. All you need to make a captivating video with this guy.

  • Insanity is a marvelous thing.

  • Legend!

  • demaisssssssssss

  • It's the era of new dances by great, eccentric musicians, I suppose. First it was Thom Yorke, now it's Tom waits. Well, I think its a sign of the times, baby, let's roll with it.

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

  • ODB :D

  • all those people how claim Chuck norris to be badass surely havnt heard about Mr. Waits

  • Tom lives in another world. I sure am pleased as punch when he comes to visit.

  • I'm awestruck, catatonic. Mr. Waits is a testament to the idea that artists make their best work in the twilight years. Shiiiiiiiit

  • my girlfriend said she didn't like tom waits now i'm single...... i'm just kidding she's dead.

  • @abbonent ahahahahahahahaha I love it

  • @abbonent Oh yeah, cause that joke is SOOOO fresh and clever. The only other time I've seen someone say that is on A HUNDRED OTHER MUSIC VIDEOS!

  • @ImYourDeity nice irony you got there ps. relax dude turn of the caps lock button and stop complaining

  • @abbonent only on a Tom Waits video

  • @abbonent Good enough for the bitch!!!

  • @abbonent Sad to hear..that she didn't like Tom Waits.

  • @abbonent sooo... you're into necrophilia?

  • @MihoreanuAndrei reminds me of some "little peace of heaven", don't you think? ;)

  • @abbonent same happened to me too.

  • vertebrae like dice ,,brilliant

  • In a top secret experiment in 1949 pioneering geneticists attempted to combine the DNA of Howlin' Wolf, Lee Marvin and a kindly brain surgeon. This was the result.

  • When I'm carousin'

    When I'm a thousand

I'm a couple of years older than Tom and FEELING it! What he said x 1,000!!!

  • tom is and always will be DA SHIT!!

  • This is one of those songs where I can't decide if i like it or not, but I'm moving slightly towards the former.

  • dam, he is ginger and he deserve his soul back.

  • The Ancient Greeks were wrong about immortality. What makes life amazing is because no one gets to live forever. That's the truth, not a concept created out of fear, like immortality.

  • @beaulieu4008 Aristotle had actually said that "What we call man's soul is just his character". Ancient Greeks ivented "atheism" too. xD

  • @2ndnickthegreek992 and they invented a Pantheon ... what's your point? =)

  • @beaulieu4008 I'm just saying that not all the ancient Greeks believed in immortality. Especially philosophers etc were very sceptic about it. Even the "official" religion did not believe in immortality in its christian sense. The classical world is very interesting actually ;) Tom Waits rules.

  • @2ndnickthegreek992 How do you know? Anyway. People tend to go through life believing in different things - one day you believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, then the next day you don't. I hope I didn't confuse you, and made you think I was saying that I thought all Ancient Greeks believed in immortality - where you got that notion out of what I wrote is beyond me. The idea of immortality must have spread like wildfire. Lately, I think Love is just a myth. Concepts like these are human.

  • @beaulieu4008 Well, I've studied a little ancient Greece (I dont't claim being a prof or smth of course). Personally, I think that the belief in immortality is due to our fear of death. Nevertheless, one can surely achieve immortality through his work, e.g. Shakespeare is still alive somehow. ;)

  • @2ndnickthegreek992 The Ancient Egyptians believed that the afterlife was more important. We really do not know. Remember when you studied that Pluto was a planet? Doesn't matter what you study - it's all made up. We must discover for ourselves and not give ourselves over to "authority." This is how you get FUK-ed. LOL Immortality isn't being afraid of death, it's being afraid of being forgotten. I wonder who made up the notion of being forgotten. What if the aim was to be forgettable.

  • If I don't see this man live before I die, I'll be mortified. I say before I die and not him because Tom Waits will NEVER die.

  • If I run into Tom I will draw a coposite sketch, but I am so so at rendering.I wish though he would go back to making more poignant videos, like when he did I don't wanna grow up.I know he is older, and a busy cat,but his songs are so discriptive, and rich with imagery.I can"t stand when a director has just the singer doin a diddy.I know what he looks like when he performs, and when the video says nothing,it diminishes the expression. The man is my favorite artist of all time.Jesse Dylan however...

  • might any of you understand the reasoning behind tom's production of this song? at least do not pretend to. Picture all the all transcending music of his mind's creation, and try to comprehend the satisfaction he derived from this work. :::::::::::Having a mean ass pull from a vertical bottle outside Ernie Kado"s Mother In Law's Lounge in New Orleans Louisiana any time before 2005. Tom, you remember me yet??????//

    `

  • If you like Tom Waits. You will like this...He can be hit or miss. This is a hit. For me..

  • I love this video.

  • Makes you want to give him a good hard slap on the back to knock some phlegm loose. Good stuff.

  • this album is off the hinges awesome! such a relief when you hear that the art of music hasnt died these days. Tom Waits is still rocking it in his 60's!

  • This sucks

  • This is weird as hell but I like it.

  • @2ndnickthegreek992

welcome to Tom Waits ; )

  • @filthysock ;)

  • tom waits does it again, very good .

  • Brilliant track and video from a legendary man! One of the most inspirational musicians to ever exist, got the new LP from my record shop earlier, can't wait to place the needle on it. Big up mr waits!

  • It's directed by the son of Bob Dylan, featuring Tom Waits. Could it be any better, except for maybe a Dylan-Waits collaboration?

  • Wow, everyone was amazing on the video

Jesse Dylan as director OMFG !

    Casey Waits !

    Les Claypool

    Marc Ribot

    Keith Richards !!!!

  • King of pop, King of rock, godfather of soul? You are all witnessing the God of Music! Mr. Tom Waits

  • I'm a big Beefheart fan but this owes more to Howling Wolf, I'd love to hear the Wolf cover this. But to call Waits a copycat is ignorant as can be. This is awesome!!

  • 17 users are unsatisfied

  • 17 unsatisfied

  • HE IS MY FUCKIN' IDOL!

  • Tom Waits is the King Of Everything.

  • tom waits is too dope

  • @insensiblegradations I take Tom Petty's view on music which is basically that all music comes all other music and that everybody copies everybody and everybody copies the first caveman that made music. This is when he was told to sue RHCP. So no, I highly doubt Tom Waits consumes Captain Beefheart's albums and vomits out his own music. He makes his own music, just like everyone else.

  • @insensiblegradations Well if you know enough about Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart (who are 2 of my favorite musicians) then you would know that there are many differences between the two. Foremost the instrumentals, Beefheart hated rhythm and hypnotics, Tom Waits' music is far more rhythmic. Tom Waits has said (as you pointed out) that he was influenced by Beefheart, and while Beefheart was a brilliant man he was far from the first music to sing in the style he did. So he must be a Fraud too.

  • @Zarncar Yes,well we know Howlin Wolf kick-started that gravelly voice thing and Don Van Vliet latched on to it and made it something else. But Waits's discovery of the big gravelly voice thing came mid-way through his career, as did the 'primeval' recording sound, and thereafter mined that sound such that you could mistake some of his work for Beefheart's, and Waits is considered to be a pathbreaking musician. Any lesser known musician than Waits would be dismissed as a copyist.

  • Les Claypool + Keith Richards + Tom Waits. Perfect! Great song, one of my favourite from Bad As Me...

  • He's doing the creeper!

  • keith richards on guitar i think!

  • You heard of Captain Beefheart?

  • Tom Waits. Still cool.

  • Jestem niezmiernie zadowolony z nowej płyty Tom'a Waits'a! Tom, to jest mój ulubiony gatunek muzyczny, oryginalny i nie do podrobienia!

  • Les Claypool on bass!

  • I refuse to quit smoking because I someday want to be the only female Tom Waits impersonator.

  • @WobbleWeed404 When you die from lung cancer, you wont be much of an impersonator. Probably the worst excuse I've ever read.

  • @jamesegnac Ya well just before she's gone from lung cancer we can ask her how that worked out for her. Somebody outa tell her impersonation comes from talent.

  • This song leaves me satisfied.

  • Wish it were my backyard ...

  • He's in my backyard!...in Midtown Memphis! xoxox

  • This physical attraction for this man who could be my grandpa. Love Tom!

  • Fucking hell. In a good way....

  • when Tom comes into my backyard doing this I just shoo him away with a broom. eventually he finds his way home, when he's satisfied, I guess.

  • Nice one. By the way, is it only me or no one actually realised that Keith Richards plays guitar in this one? You're very welcome.

  • Tom rocks!!!

  • Bryanonfilm~ You are correct. On every level. Keep on.

  • god he's such a badass.

  • kocham tego gościa!!!!!

  • i,m so hooked on tom hes so funny

  • It of course could be argued, but Tom Waits is the savior of human existence, like bacon wrapped around scallops, or perhaps the sound that is made when one slams a finger in the car door, or perhaps it is fact and cannot be argued, because arguing would defeat the purpose of nothing to begin with, and also, I'm drunk.

  • Screamin' Jay Hawkins-que indeed...Tom puts a spell on us.

  • I wonder if Tom has as grey hair on his head as his tickler beard.....lol...I love Tom.

  • Love that comment Maxxie.. "...Tom himself is a genre of music."

  • Great..

  • I want to say something about Tom Waits but what hasn't already been said? Incredibly awesomely coolified! Tuned into Tom since the 70s.

  • great!

  • He is your personal Jesus.

  • Raw Power

  • will he ever stop amazing people-a national treasure

  • What a Cool voice, I am new Tom Waits Fan now =:D

  • What a voice! He almost makes me want to start drinking and smoking.

  • cant get over his voice

  • Auditory art does not get any better than Tom's!

  • 10 and honors

  • And we sit by and watch him ripen and ask "how can it get any better than this?" And then he shows us.

  • I love listening to Wait's music chronologically and watching how he changes and grows over time. He never completely did away with the sound from his earlier years either. He just layered on top of it until he created what we hear today. His music matures with him...and he continues to perfect and tweak it. He is his music is him. He's like a ripening fruit that is never fully mature and only gets juicier with age.

  • in a league of his own, surpassed Captain Beefheart, and Dave Van Ronk.

  • People who constantly say Tom Waits should've been the frontman for a metal band need to realise that Tom himself is a genre of music.

  • @MaxxieFelan Indeed, honestly I don't think that the instrumentation and musical patterns in metal could do Tom's amazing voice justice.

  • @MaxxieFelan I've been say'n that for years!!!!

  • @MaxxieFelan DAM STRAIGHT!!!

  • @MaxxieFelan Tom himself is a genre of music ! !!! Fuck yeah

  • @MaxxieFelan People who constantly say Tom Waits should've been the frontman for a metal band need to realise that we doesn't need another cliche metal band, there's enough of them already and Tom is only one - as you say - in his own genre of music. :D

I need more tomwaitssongs bands than metal bands.

  • @MaxxieFelan This is a great statement! Amen

  • he is an old full but in a good way...:-)

  • Remember that radiohead video where Thom York danced in front of a fence in black and white?

That, aged 30 years in a bourbon cask.

  • Way to cool, a true Artist

  • Satan's Mick Jagger impersonation. Very good.

  • Two orgasms on this song!!!

  • sweet like electric sugar...

  • this is a very low budget video. it was probably filmed in tom's backyard with his daughter shining a flashlight on him. not that there's anything wrong with that.
