This ride doesnt look very fun in a video and it looks sorta slow, but when i rode it i couldnt even hold my arms up it was going so fast and i think this one is better than Top Thrill Dragster.

While I've never been on "Maverick" (I've never gone to Cedar Point), I'm puzzled as to why people say it's intense. That drop looks short and while it goes very fast, there's just loops and stuff. Loops aren't that scary. I mean, don't get me wrong, it looks extremely fun, I just want to know why some people think it's intense.

Do the parks make you pay for filming? Why would they have rules against filming if you can just ask beforehand and get permission.... must be something special but how can coasterforce be "in-the-know" with like every theme park in the world lol..... either way I am appreciative of the vids.

With over 3000 members we have one of the largest roller coaster/theme park fan websites in the world & many parks go a bit out of their way to accommodate us & our needs. Parks do this for many roller coaster/theme park fan websites, not just ours.

itt was scary when i went on it last week.. it got to the top of the hill and make this craaazy noise and started going backwards fast.. then slow.. then fast, and then it made an even louder noise and we got back to the bottom.. apparently .. the next cart didnt make it through the tunnel in time..? i thought i was going to die :P

it's awesome how they use magnets to lift the coaster, this means less steal will now be used for cables now for roller coasters, and less waiting to time to get to that hill!

Before the ride opened, there used to be a barrel roll at around 0:57

It was removed because it was either too intense for the riders, or too hard on the trains (Or both, I can't remember)

I was referring to about 0:54. Before that weird S-Bend thing, it used to be a barrel roll. It was removed due to extreme stress on the trains, and would more than likely be too intense for most people.

@TheLonlierIsland Maverick has only two inversions, these are the two corkscrews that make up the twisted horseshoe roll right before you enter the launch tunnel.

Maverick was originally supposed to have a heartline roll as you pulled out of the turn over the pond (the area right after the launch tunnel), but it was removed before Maverick opened to the public due to excess forces being exerted on the trains.

@iSpeed09 The lights have always been there actually. The tunnel also used to have a fog effect that obscured the exit for the tunnel.  The fog was removed due to safety concerns, and the lights work on and off. Most of the time they are not working though.

even without the heartline i still think its one of the best coasters.........maverick still screams a number 1 for me.....although i havent been on intimidator 305 yet :) .....its funny how some coasters with lower expectations have seemed to be some of the best in the world......i remember how everyone thought maverick would be more of a 'family coaster', and we all know that KD fans were angry at timmy 305 for a supposed 'intimifail'....oh the irony!

i went on this front seat at nite and since there are a lotta bugs out in the summer all the bugs were squashed against mi shoulder retraint and some got on mi clothes..i closed mi mouth the whoe time and i felt some hitting mi face..after the ride was over mi retraint was COVERED in mosquitoes and other bugs...GROSS!!!
