I can see that you are trying hard to make a reasoned argument. To be consistent you should be advocating at the very least for the prohibition of alcohol. The real problem is the violence and suffering caused by it being illegal. Recreational use of cannabis is nonaddictive and is far less harmful then alcohol, nicotine or even caffeine for that matter. All of which are physically addictive and that can cause death where as cannabis does not. Lookup the LD50 for cannabis and do some comparing

some people don't smoke pot to get completely blitz out of their skulls. I know many that only want enough to just relax a bit without getting silly. But people who drink in a social setting, eg a party. Alcohol is brought to get as smashed as you can (drinking games?!) some people compete drink for drink until they are on the floor puking. I don't know many pot smokers who care to compete, sometimes for fun but if they had enough they know it and stop.

I do have to ask you, why are you driving and talking to a camera WHILE you are driving. That is distracted driving and if I recall correctly that is illegal. i think in 100 years there will be little debate that weed is one the safest drugs known to man period (significantly safer than acetaminophen which is sold over the counter) and that abuse and addiction concerns apply no more to weed than to video games, porn, and a plethora of other perfectly legal things. all in all it seems to ignorance that perpetuates the illegal state of the drug and possibly some malicious intent by someone with power (who may have died years ago)

I can see that you are trying hard to make a reasoned argument. To be consistent you should be advocating at the very least for the prohibition of alcohol. The real problem is the violence and suffering caused by it being illegal. Recreational use of cannabis is nonaddictive and is far less harmful then alcohol, nicotine or even caffeine for that matter. I don't agree with you but I respect your opinion and actually can understand your reasoning. I'm a Christian (I was actually a monk) and I smoke Cannabis. I use it because I enjoy it recreationally but more importantly I use it as medicine, though not legally due to my State's laws. I suffer from PTSD and Cannabis is much more effective than the Pharmaceuticals given to me by the VA. I can function on Cannabis, not on RX's. Our Prison System & War on Drugs is not Christian. All I have to say is that cannabis has never caused the death of any one directly from using it. Cannabis has been a beneficial herb. some people don't smoke pot to get completely blitz out of their skulls. I know many that only want enough to just relax a bit without getting silly. But people who drink in a social setting, eg a party. Alcohol is brought to get as smashed as you can (drinking games?!) some people compete drink for drink until they are on the floor puking. I don't know many pot smokers who care to compete, sometimes for fun but if they had enough they know it and stop.

Also when under the age of 21 there is a law of intolerance towards alcohol, even if you "just used mouth rinse" or "just used cough medicine" It is illegal and "dangerous" for anyone under the age of 21 in the US to have any alcohol in their system. for those over 21 anyone with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more is also legally drunk. and one drink of any sort (one beer, one shot, one mixed drink) gives you a BAC of .08 or more. and ppl do drink to get drunk.

I do have to ask you, why are you driving and talking to a camera WHILE you are driving. That is distracted driving and if I recall correctly that is illegal. It is almost more dangerous than driving under the influence. I know many people that when either stoned or drunk, ask others for help if they need to drive. Or they will stay where they are safely.

I think you are confused because those 'mental illness' were from children under TWELVE YEARS OLD smoking weed. If it's legal for 18 or 21 and up it's harder to get, proven by alcohol. I doubt anyone wants a 11 or 12 year old kid smoking weed but as a 18 or 21 year old adult, if you can't be responsible with weed than your not going anywhere farther in life than this guy.

Marijuana actually opens the mind and allows you to think of things on many different levels, including spiritual things. I have strenghtened my relationship with Christ through use of marijuana.
