  • wow. your playing mega man. also, why learn c++ instead of java, gml, game maker 8, byond, gmk html5, etc...

c++ may be used the most, but that doesnt meen that it is the best

  • @MrThebakugannerd C++ if an intermediate programming language, so you can also do low and high so it is cross platform and can control hardware to a certain degree. HMTL, CSS, PHP, are all WEB languages, they are interpreted and slow and can only run in a browser, can't make a program with that. Python, Ruby, Lua, JavaScript etc are scripting languages, cross platform and interpreted but slow and cant do anything hardware. Basically-easier=less practical and not a whole lot to do with it.

  • @MrThebakugannerd C++ is fast, compiles to machine code (unless it's .NET in which case compiles to bytecode or MSIL to be read and compiled to machine code at execution with just in time compiler) so it is fast, and direct. If you want a cross platform program that is not really designed to be hardware based or fast, go with a high level language, otherwise ALWAYS choose low level, will help SO much more in the long run. Believe me, REAL programs use machine code, not an interpreter.

  • looks like you need some work done on optimization...

  • yes people claim to know api but they use visual c++ ide to make windows.

  • OH MY JEEBUS WHERE WAS THIS MY ENTIRE LIFE?

I'm 17 now, and would have been a MUCH better programmer if I had found this years ago.

    I'm a freaking MSDN whore.

  • what kind of text editors do you use with c++

  • @komboking495 notepad.

  • @komboking495 You can use DevC++ to write and compile your programs. It is free. Or you could use Visual Studio C++ Express which is also free but is a bigger download.

  • ive worked with game maker for 5 years and now I think its about time to move on to C++ or Actionscript

  • @ArctGhost If you have coded in game maker (not just utilizing drag and drop but actually programming) then you might be able to move onto C++, if you have not, then maybe you should try actionscript first, even though that is scripting and not programming, you will have an idea how to program. C++ is not like game maker and its drag and drop at all, which is why I am saying if you just utilized the drag and drop features, then you might want to try actionscript first.

  • @BigDStudios16 Nah, I used drag n drop for like the first year and after that used just coding, so 4 years of the coding, so I probably will move onto C++

  • @ArctGhost Ya, I would utilize C++ then, if I were you. Just be prepared to write a bit of text based programs before you move onto graphics and sound.

  • Can you teach Fps? please!

  • @Kiwikilljoy You should start with 2D games first, that way you know how to program, and you can work your way up to that later.

  • Haha... 17 and just finished my first side scroller in C++ after reading intermediate C++ programming now on to the expert book... This is not expert programming....

  • I'm not sure why everyone is getting all uptight about this, I started learning C when I was like 10.

  • i'm very interested in programming games, but unfortunately i'm not a kid. not for a long time. do you guys have any books out covering the same information as covered in classes? i would definitely buy them and learn coding by myself.

  • @cybodrive I recommend C++ How to Program: Late Objects Version (7th Edition) (How to Program (Deitel)) It the red book. That what a friend recommend to me. I be buying that book on Friday.

  • Why is this not available in the US? I NEED TO LEARN!

  • @williamyin08 Pick up a damn book there a lot more detailed and at about $20 there very well written.

  • I SWEAR TO GOD IF I HEAR THAT SONG ONE MORE TIME IM GONNA...

  • I knew C++ when i was 4 -_-

  • @NorthWolfs I knew how to write the letter C when I was 4 -_-

  • @MrKmose and i give a fuck why?

  • is this available for uk too?

  • Is this for America too?

  • @themanp6p

Yes through the development of a game.

  • @RealProgramming4Kids Creating the best future game devs! I wish I was aloud to do this and tried it at a much younger age, I am now 16. This won't stop me from trying though.

  • What if we already are passed the basics of C++? I'm pretty new to it, but I've made simple games with masking, map editors, a SHMUP demo, etc. Is there a more advanced course? If not, it still sounds like a load of fun. :)

  • i go to their school

  • what grapich libary is this mad in?!

  • C++ is the best. After all it spawned from gods programming language, C.

  • @devshockgames hah, oh god, you mean satan's programming language... evil... pure evil...

  • how do i sign up fpr free class?

  • how do i get in to the free class i dont se a button :(

  • I think that this is made in Flash...

  • @Cioism This was not made in Flash. At this time we do not teach Flash at RP4K. This program was made in visual c++.

  • @RealProgramming4Kids Oh my god I cant believe it... this is awesome!

  • why don't you start tutotrial if u r expert in it

  • @RealProgramming4Kids Even though visual c++ isn't a programming language. Visual c++ is an IDE made by Microsoft for developing c++ programs.

C++, however, is a programming language.

  • @IPlayInBeastMode He never said it was...

  • @gofish8195 Think he said it in the video or something; can't remember.

  • its just not right to make geek's of kids whoose still young

  • @tornadomannen2

its just not right to tell people what to like on the internet.

  • i thot it was rair for kids to know C++, But serfing youtube i was WRONG

  • @icarly6342 lmao thats too funny

  • @icarly6342 I know C++ and i'm 13. I don't know whether to class that as 'kid' or not. I also know basic and c.

  • @icarly6342 Sadly there are a lot of people claiming to know C++ when in reality they basically program C code in a C++ environment

  • @icarly6342 Your spelling is atrocious and makes me feel physically sick.

  • Mmmm. I can't see any price. Maybe they cost too much?

  • @Films4You

You can go to our website and look on the registration form for the course. Cost is dependent on the course taken and length of the course. There are also specific discounts related to groups, families, returning RP4K students and possibly others.
