@shortyshlak1704 look online on the Mallaig to Fort Willam website to buy tickets then if you get tickets you will be able to go across the Glenfinnan Viaduct in Scotland which is where Harry Potter and Ron Wealey drive the flying car to hogwarts and the meet the train
she is at york nrm at the moment on display in the rail yard under the tent u can go up to it and have a gd look she is carrying passengers on the main line from feb 19 to the 26th tickets start from £10 each for a short trip of 10 miles as part of the wizaed week at york nrm
@hihat101 yes that what i was thinking it was very dirty she could do with a team of steam cleaners on her for a few hours she looks good when she is shineing and clean
What remarkable contrast between the engine exhaust drum reverberating against the roof of the station and the mosquito-like whine of the buzzing chainsaw earlier. Give me external combustion any day.
I would like to go back to Orlando just to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. You are so lucky to live in USA because you are able to go to these theme parks whenever you can or want.
i agree with you, she's actually owned by the Warner Brothers though, and once theyve finished with her, i dont know what theyll do with her. apparently they're going to donate her to some sort of harry potter museum.
@34002salisbury she has only been out on a rail tour 2 times and a heritage railway once because WB charge a fortune in royalties as its painted in the HE colours as far as im aware
At the Dutch release of Book 7 I was on board on this train.. sort like =) It was departing at Utrecht, and it arrived at Amersfoort. It was really cool. Everyone was looking at us, because we were dressed as wizards and witches. Little kids looking at us: 'OMG, It's the Harry Pottertrain!' Awsome, man. It's a really cool locomotive. It smells inside, but it was absolutely awsome.
60034 was not withdrawn two days after it was put into service, and the only damage a steam engine can do to itself under high speed is to parts the lner workshops like all railways would have had in stock by the shitload, furthermore i know this because unlike you my knowledge come from the men who worked these engines both in the lner and br not from a book written by some fat arsed wanker who drives a desk for a living, and one of my mate was the regular fireman of 60034 lord farrington

peregrine, 4903 lner ,60034 br, entered revenue service on the 1st of july 1938 2 days before mallard set the record why would the pull a brand new engine apart to rebuilt another one, peregrine was withdrawn from service on august 24 1966. mallard had some slight scoring to her central cylinder that was it, and i must say gwr buffs are so easy tick off just bait the hook and wait three seconds

yeah that is why engines like green arrow and mallard are faster than great western engines.I think that it looks like the city of trouro painted red.
city of truro is a good engine, but no gwr engine has ever done anything that an lner engine couldnt out do. but even though i like british steam iam inclined for obvious reasons towards australian steam type in 3801 and have a look u will see a real loco.
(Following on from previous...) so i dont know how you can say that the Great Western Never Built A Decent Engine becuase if they didn't then how could they run such a service? Sir William Stanier was trained at Swidon and his Princess Royal Class was almost an enlargement of the GW King, and the survivors of that class are supreme; but no better than a King by any means!!
I think the livery looks good, suited Taw Valley when she wore it... and Owen the term is "poor loco" as the loco is the only thing in a different livery...
