@hownowicecow282 Thanks man.Helped a lot.Not sure it starts from Dm though.I played it and it sounds like it starts from Am.But nevertheless,I have a nice chord progression to which I can practice to.Cheers. :)
@yamcoverZ well in terms of technical skill. ill say almost certainly. but you cant really compare different styles of music and say something is better, thats subjective
@DiogoAlmeida95 Good point. I guess I never really thought about those guys. Kerry's isn't quite as awesome, but Bill Gibbons might have the prize now that I think about it.
@SpawntheFuries Dime is in my opinion in competition with Kirk windstein when it comes to the beard. But when it comes to hair...Kirk...well you know what I mean :D
I am: white, five nine, one sixty seven pounds, six/cut, shaved butt and cock, short light brown hair, blue eyes, straight acting in public but a little bit sub and feminine-feeling in private. I'm looking for: a man older than me who is very horny and will teach me how to suck and bend over if you want? Or, if you would like to take things slower and cuddle and spend no-strings "relationship-time" together before being naked, that's alright too.
@thefreezingmoon1 the backing riff is the same kind of idea, that will be why, also i think you may be referring to Parisienne Walkways, not still got the blues, same minor arpeggios =]
simply beautiful...and oh my god the crying note at 1:03.....damn Marty's great. I heard this first time about 3 years ago when I watched the lesson and I almost cried....He plays sooo smooth and meaningful....and then at the finale goes OK....(thats nothing for me!!!!)
Yeah Broderick is awesome, but Marty has better phrasing, which to me is more important in coming up with unique, memorable music. Of course, Marty is also very technically talented, which helps!
@ruffles272 I know right, but at least she learned from the best. How you're mother taught her while they both were on their knees with those big black cock and balls stuffed inside their dirty whore mouths. Take the load on the chin is her motto.
@toxicab23 cause dragonforce break through was primarily because of guitar hero and because he used to suck live.also i agree-hes a cool dude, but sometimes hes just too much of a show-off
@jian2069 broderick actually uses those like harmonic minor n stuff but his use of them is nowhere near as proficient as marty when it comes to melody in my opinion
What's up with people being Douche bags comparing Marty Friedman and Chris Broderick. They both are well accomplished players. Appreciate the talent and enjoy the music. This solo is fantastic!!
While broderick has some of the best sweeps out there.... Friedman's soul combined with his sweeping makes broderick bend over and squeal like a piggy....and i don't mean Dime style.
his use of awkward arpeggios and string skipping sweeps (in solos such as those in lucretia, tornado of souls, and holy wars) makes him an incredible guitarist because he has trademarked his style and it is something no one will be able to imitate
chris is ur standard thrash metal guitarist, which is not really that technical at all. pentatonics with the occasional major scales arnt that difficult. gary holt sets the bar for 80's thrash metal gutarst
I know what you mean. I think I expressed myself wrong. I meant that Chris is a better -let's put it this way- guitar "wanker", he plays the solos so fucking clean and wanks his guitar better all around, but that's where he unfortunately stops at, he is just the guitarrist of X band. Friedman may not have the same exact skills like Chris, but the music he composes, the influences he mixes to come up with his trademark style (as you said) make him a much better musician, one of the best.
@Jagguar20 oh. I wouldn't say chris poland is just another shred wanker though. He's got a cool jazzy feel to his playing, he kinda reminds of allan holdsworth his flowing legato runs. His instrumental stuff is pretty decent. Although uou really just cant beat marty, the solos he recorded with megadeth were amazing. Not one sounded the same
I agree and disagree. I totally agree about what you said about Marty but as for Chris, he isn't as mediocre as you say. He is rather all around talented but will never be as good as Marty in my opinion.
@kumar1280 You should really try listening to chris because what you described doesnt sound like Chris at all, I've never heard anything "mediocre" come from Chris' ENGL amps.
man...you should check out some of chris' stuff with nevermore....then you'll take back that comment....definitely I hail Marty as a composer....but watching Broderick and Jeff Loomis solo makes the hair on my ass stand-up
@Anarchyffan just because he's playing with a clean sound and playing in a minor scale doesn't mean he has soul. so many young guitarists use soul so badly nowadays to insult other musicians it really pisses me off (not you) just the common use of the word "soul" or "Emotion" in guitar playing. you can't measure it, you can't look at a guitarist playing something and say, "wow look how much soul he's putting into that" no.
@MadJack122 Yes you can look at guitarist playing something and say "how much soul he's putting into that".
you can see his face, his movement, his dedication to that thing he's playing, you can see he enjoys it. Many guitarists today are playing just to be cool and better than others, and there's only few ones who love to play and are playing just for that.
@Adrian92Smith that's very true, but i'm just saying some people judge a player's soul to quickly and vaguely. yes there are alot of people who only start guitar (drums is also a popular alternative) just to look cool or have something they can boast or say they have a talent for.
@Anarchyffan Well Chris can play all of Martys solos perfectly and his bends are as good too. Chris is a mind blowing guitarist, he can play anything from classical to super fast shredding and sweeping still maintaining perfection. But he is too theory baed when it comes to his own solos. They lack orginality when again Marty plays the best solos in the world and his scales are so original.
Thank God for amazing guitar duos that have inspired us all - Marty and Dave, Chris and Mike Amott, Alexi and roope (Bodom), slash and izzy...fucking amazing !
I think that Kellys should have a bigger body. get rid of the neck heavyness and offer more sustain(even though the sustain is good). Marty is a small guy, I think hes only 5'8 and that guitar almost looks small next to him.
