  • Porcodio :D

  • "Okay" - Marty OMG!!!

  • ı cant fucking play :S

  • that's a spanish guitar solo..

he should've used a classical guitar

  • the breath at 00:55 :D

  • this seems a solo from cacophony but i don't rember the song

  • Can someone please tell me the chord progressions? :)

  • @Mega80smetal he explains it earlier im not 100% but i think its Dm - Am - Then F then E or something close to that

  • @hownowicecow282 Thanks man.Helped a lot.Not sure it starts from Dm though.I played it and it sounds like it starts from Am.But nevertheless,I have a nice chord progression to which I can practice to.Cheers. :)

  • The king of Slows !

  • awesome solo!

  • This guy melts my face everytime...

  • @mazingguitar with hot licks? XD

  • @xy1p33y0x slash is bald so of course he wears a wig and top hat thats why he doesnt take it off these days

  • Puyol!

  • Why does this solo reminds me of Italy? :D and of movie Mafia! :)

  • @TheMustainism cause he uses harmonic minor notes as well and it tends to sound a bit like the god father theme i think

  • @TheMustainism please don't tell me Italy only reminds you of mafia :(

  • @ciosky93 no, but this solo reminds me of Mafia :)

  • @TheMustainism cause you are not a real guitarist :P i'm just kidding but this sound is more similar to mexican and spanish music

  • @ilkech89 similar styles since spain was conquered by the romans an inendated with their culure

  • @torogami2 fucking creepy italians!!!! :p

  • @TheMustainism well man dunno, it keeps reminding me of Mexico. Fuckin A name though :D

  • @TheMustainism coz its minor...

  • Pure awesomeness...

  • i couldn't care less about his hair: he could be bald and still be one of my two guitar heroes :-)

  • ....."I could do this all day"

  • @xy1p33y0x also the guitar playing !

  • @yamcoverZ well in terms of technical skill. ill say almost certainly. but you cant really compare different styles of music and say something is better, thats subjective

  • @xy1p33y0x not better than Dimebag Darrell's.

  • @bigbear159 Nah, Marty's hair is better, but Dime's beard was the best ever.

  • @SpawntheFuries I dont know, pal...what about Scott Ian, Kerry King an Billy Gibbons?

  • @DiogoAlmeida95 Good point. I guess I never really thought about those guys. Kerry's isn't quite as awesome, but Bill Gibbons might have the prize now that I think about it.

  • @SpawntheFuries Dime is in my opinion in competition with Kirk windstein when it comes to the beard. But when it comes to hair...Kirk...well you know what I mean :D

  • @SpawntheFuries i'd say johann hegg has the most epic beard ever!

  • If only one of 100 people who watch this don't like his playing, then why isn't he more famous? He is DA man!

  • @RyseTheWizard BA...BadAss

  • @kpnutswales Please explain to me how in the hell Marty is shit...

  • wow

  • i love this it gives me goosebumps :(

  • 2 dislikes WTF

  • @xy1p33y0x he's as shit as him though

  • @kpnutswales my ass

  • Marty should've been born Asian. His riff is heavily Asian influenced.

  • @92supra57lespaul This riff is SUPER spanish influenced!!!!!!!!

  • @92supra57lespaul What are you talking about? It's more like Spanish or South American influenced.

  • @92supra57lespaul WHAT THE FUCK

  • @92supra57lespaul ..no. spanish

  • marty friedman is one of the few guitar players that can sweep with feel

  • @guitardouche666 what the hell are you talking about?

  • Reminds me a bit of santana.

  • @xy1p33y0x of course :]

  • @xy1p33y0x and the playing too..

  • jaja esta mamada

  • I don't know why but... This reminds me of Still got the blues by Gary moore?

  • @thefreezingmoon1 the backing riff is the same kind of idea, that will be why, also i think you may be referring to Parisienne Walkways, not still got the blues, same minor arpeggios =]

  • simply beautiful...and oh my god the crying note at 1:03.....damn Marty's great. I heard this first time about 3 years ago when I watched the lesson and I almost cried....He plays sooo smooth and meaningful....and then at the finale goes OK....(thats nothing for me!!!!)

  • what kind of jackson is that?..

  • @zoso322 Jackson Kelly Ke1

  • Sounds like Ennio Morricone stuff

  • i love marty.. he would make a great wife

  • @clikityclak lol you dick.. but i agree with you nonetheless :P

  • wat title for this whole video lesson?

  • Martin's soul even in an exercise

    what more do you want

    impressive, majestic, delicate

    Great Friedman

  • lol u guys r so dumb this is from guitar pro and hes so pro it looks like hes playin it

  • Sounds very flamenco influenced. Marty Friedman has always kicked more ass than most guitarist of his era.

  • @Metal69Rush change "has" with "does" and "kicked" with "kicks" I think.

  • @reandor That wouldn't make syntactical sense. It would have to be "Marty Friedman kicks" or "does always kick".

  • @HeavyBlueMetal lol right, I wonder where my mind was. Oh I remember. Got shocked by Marty's playing as usual :D

  • What DVD is this from??

  • Master <3 Love it !

  • you know ehn you have an orgasm, and your feet lock up and shit well my ears just locked up because that shit was eargasmic

  • Yeah Broderick is awesome, but Marty has better phrasing, which to me is more important in coming up with unique, memorable music. Of course, Marty is also very technically talented, which helps!

  • 0:31 i like the plucking effect he uses... it gives the melodic arpeggiated solo a little more punch to it

  • Marty Freidman looks nothing like slash. Don't compare Marty with that nigger slash.

  • @HaohmaruOfTheWind shut the fuck up dick!

  • Dude fuck you that "Nigger slash" is probably your father seeing as how your whore of a mother will have sex with whoever she sees

  • @ruffles272 I know right, but at least she learned from the best. How you're mother taught her while they both were on their knees with those big black cock and balls stuffed inside their dirty whore mouths. Take the load on the chin is her motto.

  • nah man. thats my motto. lol

  • @HaohmaruOfTheWind racist much? lol

  • @NGmetalix Your boyfriend's orgasms?

  • Thats So fucked up but i love it!

  • @EpiphoneSH4 Ha Ha great reply man!

  • @NGmetalix have you got ears?

  • @NGmetalix wow epic fail NGmetailx

  • @Skreepers umm maybe, try clean setting, gain:5 bass:2 mid:5 treb:8 no effects, that might work

  • @Skreepers sounds like a tube amp with a single volume control, nothing else, no pedals nothing, just him

  • This guitar is crying... :(

  • isn't improvisation... is" realm of the senses" from marty's album "scenes".... idiot..

  • he is using a lot the japanese scale, which is a very beautiful scale. there's a lesson here on youtube where he explains it.

  • What a sexy sound.

  • I have to question the sanity of the 2 people who clicked dislike

  • this is what i call a solo!in your face herman li

    marty is the best

  • @6rosebudX i agree marty is better than herman li... but why do people always pick on herman li.. he's a nice dude.

  • @toxicab23 cause dragonforce break through was primarily because of guitar hero and because he used to suck live.also i agree-hes a cool dude, but sometimes hes just too much of a show-off

  • Is this really improv? Damn...

  • Marty can stomp on Kirk's lead on a bad day....

  • what does it mean "over minor scale" . i know what a scale is , but i don't get what over a scale mean

  • @jaguarlord1994 It means marty has a mastery on following the progressions of the minor scale

  • Melody and harmonic control over scale for one of the better guitarist of all time.

  • Friedman was easily the best lead guitarist in Megadeth.

Chris is amazing, but he never uses the strange scales and modes that make Marty's solos stick out.

  • Yeah Chris always did the fast jazzy ass solos.

But Friedman also did the chromatic shit and then some of his own signature playing like his Japanese scale solos

  • @jian2069 broderick actually uses those like harmonic minor n stuff but his use of them is nowhere near as proficient as marty when it comes to melody in my opinion

  • What's up with people being Douche bags comparing Marty Friedman and Chris Broderick. They both are well accomplished players. Appreciate the talent and enjoy the music. This solo is fantastic!!

    Peace!

  • BEAUTIFULLLL

  • i think broderick is a more proficient player but i like friedmans style better

  • OKAY.

  • i cummed with my ears...god...

  • Realy original , he got his own sound that's for sour, great player.

  • i feel good after listen to this....feel a rush of warm blood....

  • he's really a good guitarist

  • Marty is totally underrated. His exotic sounds are so refreshing compared to bluesy and classical style guitarists

  • MARTY FRIEDMAN, i just jizzed

  • just close your eyes , and fly..beautifull

  • AMAZING!

    +5

  • While broderick has some of the best sweeps out there.... Friedman's soul combined with his sweeping makes broderick bend over and squeal like a piggy....and i don't mean Dime style.

  • I think Chris is a better player technical-wise, but Marty is much better musician.

  • agreed.

  • nope

    friedman's stuff is incredibly technical

his use of awkward arpeggios and string skipping sweeps (in solos such as those in lucretia, tornado of souls, and holy wars) makes him an incredible guitarist because he has trademarked his style and it is something no one will be able to imitate

chris is ur standard thrash metal guitarist, which is not really that technical at all. pentatonics with the occasional major scales arnt that difficult. gary holt sets the bar for 80's thrash metal gutarst

  • I know what you mean. I think I expressed myself wrong. I meant that Chris is a better -let's put it this way- guitar "wanker", he plays the solos so fucking clean and wanks his guitar better all around, but that's where he unfortunately stops at, he is just the guitarrist of X band. Friedman may not have the same exact skills like Chris, but the music he composes, the influences he mixes to come up with his trademark style (as you said) make him a much better musician, one of the best.

  • @Jagguar20 oh. I wouldn't say chris poland is just another shred wanker though. He's got a cool jazzy feel to his playing, he kinda reminds of allan holdsworth his flowing legato runs. His instrumental stuff is pretty decent. Although uou really just cant beat marty, the solos he recorded with megadeth were amazing. Not one sounded the same

  • I agree and disagree. I totally agree about what you said about Marty but as for Chris, he isn't as mediocre as you say. He is rather all around talented but will never be as good as Marty in my opinion.

  • @kumar1280 You should really try listening to chris because what you described doesnt sound like Chris at all, I've never heard anything "mediocre" come from Chris' ENGL amps.

  • @kumar1280 have you seen chris broderick tap mozart or fingerpick bach? hes perfection.

  • @guitar4evr30 im talking about chris poland not chris broderick

  • @guitar4evr30 Yeah, broderick did pretty job on that mozart and bach thing..

but cmon' hes just good at playing music that has been already composed...

thats the big difference between guys like poland or friedman with broderick...

marty/poland created great solos, broderick just plays.

  • @gre1990 yeah, i havent really heard any original music from chris.

  • man...you should check out some of chris' stuff with nevermore....then you'll take back that comment....definitely I hail Marty as a composer....but watching Broderick and Jeff Loomis solo makes the hair on my ass stand-up

  • excet broderick never recorwded with nevermore

  • @Anarchyffan OH shit that made me laugh so hard

  • @Anarchyffan Well you're a clever little bastard aren't you? haha

  • @Anarchyffan 44 minutes outro, just fast shredding no soul.....broderick is still beast, marty is beaster

  • @Anarchyffan perfect comment! lool!

  • @Anarchyffan just because he's playing with a clean sound and playing in a minor scale doesn't mean he has soul. so many young guitarists use soul so badly nowadays to insult other musicians it really pisses me off (not you) just the common use of the word "soul" or "Emotion" in guitar playing. you can't measure it, you can't look at a guitarist playing something and say, "wow look how much soul he's putting into that" no.

  • @MadJack122 Yes you can look at guitarist playing something and say "how much soul he's putting into that".

you can see his face, his movement, his dedication to that thing he's playing, you can see he enjoys it. Many guitarists today are playing just to be cool and better than others, and there's only few ones who love to play and are playing just for that.

  • @Adrian92Smith that's very true, but i'm just saying some people judge a player's soul to quickly and vaguely. yes there are alot of people who only start guitar (drums is also a popular alternative) just to look cool or have something they can boast or say they have a talent for.

  • @Anarchyffan Well Chris can play all of Martys solos perfectly and his bends are as good too. Chris is a mind blowing guitarist, he can play anything from classical to super fast shredding and sweeping still maintaining perfection. But he is too theory baed when it comes to his own solos. They lack orginality when again Marty plays the best solos in the world and his scales are so original.

  • @Anarchyffan i like that you added Dime in there also

  • Fuckin amazing. Marty rocks

  • FINALLY THE REAL VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!

  • The hair of Slash...The fingers of Marty Friedman...and the talent of a God!

  • Thank God for amazing guitar duos that have inspired us all - Marty and Dave, Chris and Mike Amott, Alexi and roope (Bodom), slash and izzy...fucking amazing !

  • Can't believe you said "Marty and Dave" instead of Marty and Becker haha.

  • well we can always go with both of them

  • haha marty and dave......weird how becker hasnt come into the picture

  • true...

  • @crazyspin19 i think you mean slash's hair was the hair of friedman.

  • @crazyspin19 my opinion marty hair is more better than slash hair..slash hair like shit.many germs and diseases...i think slash never wash his hair

  • @amir2985 comparing hair now? you people are fucking idiots.

  • @crazyspin19 Actually, I think Slash stole Marty's hair ;)

  • @crazyspin19 no, freidman has the hair of marty, the fingers of marty, the talent of marty

  • nah, slash has martys hair. Because marty was here first.

  • marty is such a unique player, i could listen to him all day. BEautiful.

  • OK...

  • You have to love those half step bends man.

  • ingenious

  • Wow that was sooo beautiful.

  • I think that Kellys should have a bigger body. get rid of the neck heavyness and offer more sustain(even though the sustain is good). Marty is a small guy, I think hes only 5'8 and that guitar almost looks small next to him.

  • @milkenkookies man you are soo right, I always thinked that

  • Man, his right hand technique freaks the hell out of me, but he's soo damn good.

  • i guess it helps his sweeps...

  • Aww it's so sad :'(

  • Guys... take this outside would ya!

  • Why you would even bother saying that to something that ended three weeks ago?
