I have to say that Sportscars/prototypes turn me on more than F1 cars. F1 has disappeared up it's own ass. Odd thing to say I know but cars such as this one look just great. And the raw sound is good too. If you watch "Le Mans" the Steve McQueen film then the cars on there like the 917 are just sheer music. Sportscars man!!

Mark Donohue qualified the 917/30 at Mid-Ohio in pole position with 1:20, de Ferran Acura qualified first with 1:07. Donohues time is somewhere between GT1 and GT2 times.

Don't know about track changes though.

But Road America remained nearly the same over the years. McLaren M8D qualified first with a 2:10.6 in 1970, Audi R10 TDI qualified first with a 1:46 last year. A 2:10 qualified you around the dead end around the likes of a Robinson GT40, which is more a moving chicane than a racecar

The new # 11 Dome S102 Judd has been fast in testing as driven by Daisuke Ito. Recent testing at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium has shown a lap time of 2:00.89, with a maximum recorded speed of 308 kmh at the track.

The RS Spyder would beat with little difficulty. Then again Porsche has more money allocated to it's program and this is simply the initial testing. But that is incredibly slow. A GT1 may catch it.

I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that comment... however I think my reaosning is that on technical tracks the RS Spyder outpaced the audi's. Therefore that car I figured was slower... Spa is a pretty fast circuit so it's posssible that that car could beat the Porsche. However if Porsche built an LMP1 car it would be much quicker...

Porsche does have more resources, but they've lost some of the plot when they built the cayenne and 911 turbos with automatics.

The cayenne completely violates porsche's ideals.... But it's what allows Porsche to race.. They are phasing out the automatics with PDK. The automatics exist becuase the turbo is a luxury GT car... Do you know what a Radical is (I'm assuming you do), the road cars are just brilliant! That's what Porsche should be...
