  • Alan Alda's just another brick in the Wall......

  • DAMN! to the pirate bay!

  • Roger Waters was Pink Floyd. Funny how Gilmour and the other gusy compalin about Roger being a hard ass - bt he was the creative force and interesting how they complain about the wall album (Roger's idea) but they happily cash the checks.....

  • why is panned all weird when people are talking?

  • Seven people can jump off the wall for all I care.

  • who is this dumb bitch?

  • The 'surrogate Roger' sings better than the real one :P

  • ....we came in?

  • @FreeBirdInc isn't this where...

  • @Dee1346 we came in?

  • @1973mazdarx4coupe I hope people thumb down that comment of yours, you are fucking deluded.

  • Pink floyd another great band from my teen yrs growing up in the 70's and 80's...Wish i could go back!!!

  • PINK FLOYD FACELESS -- one of those silly cliches, only because some teenie boppers buying the wall single didn´t know how they looked like -- "entirely faceless", what a bullshit having nothing to do with the real thing

  • Ashton Kutcher looks like early Gilmore

  • @cellardoor199991 me always reminds leonardo di caprio of gilmour SOMEHOW, not explicitly

  • @cellardoor199991 7.15 right? yeah real resemblance!

  • i dont like how rick singles out syd and said he was the only one who did drugs, we all know they all did them, maybe not as much as syd but

  • they r better live lisen to the wall live {is there anybody out there}

  • is there any chance to buy this somewhere?

  • mary anne hobbs is a fucking witch.......i'd still give some though

  • is anyone going to see the new Roger Water the Wall tour? Thumbs up if you are or if you have been to the new wall concert.

I saw Roger Water's live doing the Wall in the Sprint Center, now I know the full meaning of life.

  • @themetalman3 saw TW in atlanta thursday night.......just amazing.

  • wish I had a time machine

  • i never heard such a good live sound

  • @MoveOverCasanova amen! u find such think anymore unfortunately.

  • @MoveOverCasanova I have been told by friends that they were even better live if you can imagine such a thing

  • Haha what a cunt!! Pink Floyd was way more successful than Deep Purple OR Zeppelin, and she sounds like an idiot... Which is surprising since its hard to sound stupid with an english accent!!

  • WOOO PINK FLOYD

  • you are all f(((((d, Have you ever thought about the fact that they are timelisss.. Nothing can compare. If you think not then you are not really listenining.

  • Ironic isnt it that so called super moralist Roger held tapes hostage to force Rick out of band, he worked on wage on this tour. Roger fucking egomaniac bastard.

  • two awesome quotes:

Rick: "We build a wall between us and the audience as a statement, and then we see how long it will take to piss them off."

Dave: "The audience is just sitting there looking at it. you sort of go, hang on a minute!"

    classic! XD. LOFL.

  • I just got "Is There Anybody Out There", and it is just phenomenal. I came close to blowing out my car's speakers listening to it. They absolutely sounded better live than in the studio, and that was a hard thing to do on the massive "Wall tour

  • the fake gilmour guy reminds me a charachter from the orange clockwork!!haha

  • @kuatli666 lmao! he sortof looks like alex, thats hilarious

  • One of the greatest albums ever.

  • what's the song at 4:35

  • @32heyjoe : Interstellar Overdrive (from the debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn).

  • Pink Floyd

One of the finer things in life.

  • Can't wait to see Roger preform the wall this fall!

  • @wickedlester97 My God, how I envy you.

  • while it may not be true that all drummers are dense squares, Nick Mason takes the cake for the context of music his band was writing: hugely experimental, sophisticated music, whose biggest single is in 7/8 time ("Money") has the dullest personality.

I love his drumming, but he talks like a bore on downers, he doesn't really have anything but a vague grasp as to what they were doing. or if he does he can't articulate it.

Maybe still waters run deep or somethin, but he just seems like a dolt.

  • @songcycle

If you take the time to read nick masons book 'inside out.......' you will find that he is a very funny dry witted man, must have just been on a bad day on this interview.

  • I have it on VHS, I taped it from Channel 4. Must have been at least ten years ago.

  • Does anyone hear think the wall has anything to do with the berlin wall? i've been having an argument with a classmate about it.

  • Just the symbolism that a wall placed ANYWHERE would have; "separation".

  • @jacobnrrs its an psychical wall. it does not have anything with the berlin wall to do

  • @krollaostmedburger it could be on several levels, after all, this is the PINK FLOYD!!!!

  • it has zero to do with the berlin wall. it's principally about Waters' own experiences and inner demons. He says so himself in many interviews.

  • It has to do with the imaginary "wall" that separates people. At one point, Roger waters spit on a fan who was attempting to climb over a fence at a show. He felt bad, and came up with this idea. It also has to do with different points in his life and theme of war plays into it as well.

  • @jacobnrrs lol, me to

  • no theres not but if they had don't built the wall then no show. but the wall is the meaning that pink (in the movie is a rock star and ... anyway go one wikipedia and anjoy

  • اdrip waters and the floyd tones

  • did anyone in the band other than syd ever take acid?

  • yaa buy the wall ,, best movie evrer!! MENTAL

  • a band to get famous with just for there songs standing alone...is in my #1 list :D

  • where is this from?

    is this on DVD?

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen i think. but i dont know what dvd its on. just search behind the wall and see wat you get.

  • i guess GEldof got an apprecieation for Floyd, BOB GELDOF INITIALLY HATED PINK FLOYD

    IS this on dvd???

  • is there anybody out there 1980-1981

  • ...and it's Roger singing. No doubt.

  • I was at the gig at Earl's Court, 1980. The surrogate band fooled me, and when the wall crashed down at the end it scared the crap out of me! Brilliant gig.

  • The Surrogate Band (The Fake Floyd):

    Andy Bown - bass

    Snowy White - guitar (1980)

    Wilie Wilson - drums

    Peter Woods - keyboards

    Andy Roberts - guitar (1981)

  • Oh were they actually playng and singing or was it the actual Floyd playing from the backstage?

  • As well as I can guess from the CDbox (I was too young and Italian to be there myself) both were actually playing on In The Flesh. The four guys provided extra parts throughout the whole show.

  • (I was too young and Italian to be there myself)

We're two then :))) Grazie x le info!

  • The guitarist(Snowy White?) looks kind of frigthning with David Gilmour's mask on.

  • either way i can still watch the wall and take a few doses!!!!

  • damn i wish i could've been at pompeii

  • join the club man.

  • there was no audience at pompeii

  • ha ha in that Live in Pompeii documentary there were interviewing a young Gilmour and he was claiming they were not a drug oriented group, and yet he looked like he was STONED out of his ASS!! Funny as hell!

  • @rick4777 they ALL look clearly stoned during those interviews, although if I'm not mistaken he says " ...not a VERY drug orientated band", meaning at that point they all drank and smoked a bit of grass/hash here and there, but no LSD or harder stuff.

  • I've enjoyed all 3 versions of the Wall.

  • i swear to god when i say this...but now, whenever i see a brick wall ANYWHERE, this album comes into my head, especially when I see a white one :)

  • did anyone listen to this in stereo? especially with headphones?? the sound on the interviews keeps rolling left and right.. it's real trippy.

  • yea i noticed that

  • Oh thank God, I thought I was losing my head!

  • @crk1121 Yeah I know it's annoying

  • @crk1121 yeah, recognized that. weird.

  • @crk1121 yup

  • @crk1121 it tottaly does

  • @crk1121

yeah. Fuc...king sound in in the entire documentary! (part 1-7) I'm going slightly mad thank this, when i listen it with headphones. But I love Pink Floyd Sound. That's right!

    ...great damage :-(

  • @crk1121 yeah it suck with headphones

  • @crk1121

I know right! When I listened to it through headphones I thought something was in the drink o_O

  • @crk1121 lol ya thats creepy

  • @crk1121 I hear it with speakers alone :D

  • and if you are black i appologize...but still don't use that word so openly...

  • Pink Floyd The Wall doesn't look like it was the work of Pink Floyd. But instead, it was the work of Roger Waters. No matter what, this album is still good especially the live concert in 1980 and 1981.

  • true but i doubt he could have done it on his own

  • Seems like the Wall is all Roger's work. Pretty much this videos told me. Wall was originially Water's idea and he is the one who wrote almost all the songs in the album. Even the shows and movie ideas are came from Roger.

  • how about: The Floyd...?

  • How about: The Anderson Council?

  • How about Roger Waters and The Pink Floyd.

  • Guess you're not a fan of the stuff they did 1970 and earlier when they were called, you know, 'The Pink Floyd'.

  • truthfully i'm not. i happen to be one of those "narrow minded" listeners that appreciates the sound they formulated in the 70's rather than the psych stuff they did in the 60's.

  • Yeah... what the hell is with that? What is the official title? I also knew them as Pink Floyd or Floyd for short. Never the Floyd For short.

  • I call them pink and the floyds featuring the

  • its prolly cuz...THE brits.....are short of vocab.,....tea and apotted dick aint covering it eh??

  • "Short of vocab?!"..... nigga, please.

This coming from a slimey little spugger who can barely form a sentence, let alone spell one.

Speaking as someone who is acquainted with many young Brits, let me assure you that if THEY have something disparaging to say, it's at least well constructed thoughts and spelled-correctly words.

Your words and the way you represent them showcase your intelligence and how you carry yourself. You have neither the gumption nor the balls to back up your ignorance.

  • ok first of all....you can't start to talk shit and start making remarks without noticing the sarcasm in my comment.....how i express myself here on the web shouldn't be magnified and blown out of porportion like you just did....if i wanted crap from a "scholar" like your portraying yourself to be I would've have asked one of my professors for a lecture on life so please next time type something humorous instead of using terms as Nigga please....where the chances of u being black are slim....

  • haha "spelled correctly words", you fucked your entire insult when you got to that point.

  • twodayslaterdl-

That used to be their name. It started out as The Pink Floyd Sound, then The Pink Floyd, and then, once the band's image had completely changed, just Pink Floyd. I think they finally dropped the "The" around the Meddle era, but some of the band members can still be heard calling them "The" Pink Floyd occasionally.

  • nice summary.

  • Ok, this is cool, but on headphones it's irritating. (try it).

  • AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH ITs fucker up

  • i know right, it's kinda annoying.

    on another note,

THIS IS THE GREATEST MOST EPIC MOST SOUL ENDIVING ALBUM EVER. I DARE SAY EVER, CONCIEVED, CUZ IT WSAN'T MADE OH NO, IT WAS CONCIEVED FROM THE BONES OF SAINTS AND DABBED WITH ANGEL TEARS AND FORGED WITH DRAGON FIRE AND COOKED THROUGHT THE DEEPEST MOST HARROWING SORROWS EVER. the best, i dare you people to top that one, pink floyd may not be my favorite band, but this is undboubtedly the best album EVER.

  • "We'll do a show and we'll build a wall between us and the audience. It's a statement. And then we'll see how long it'll take to piss them off."

    R.I.P Rick.

  • holy shit!!...I never heard of the fake floyd thing...!!..thats fuckin crazy....

  • This is from SBS, right? I taped this when it was first on. Wow, what memories. Great doco, by the way.

  • If you think marijuana is a "drug", you are sadly mistaken. Google "The Union: The Business Behind Getting High" and call me in the morning...

They all toke up every now and again, let's face reality.

  • Marijuana has been proven to increase your chances of testicular cancer by 78%. It is a drug just like cigarettes, nicotine, and alcohol. It's also a proven cause mental disorders, such as panic attacks(I know because I have them everyday.) It's funny how they say it calms your nerves when it's the very thing that caused your nerves to become unsettled in the first place. It's also proven to cause damage to your bronchial tubes. IT IS A DRUG, WHETHER YOU LIKE TO HEAR THAT DOESN'T MATTER!

  • you are wrong...marihuana is a bronchial dilatator.....

  • Cigarettes aren't a drug, the nicotine that is in them is...

Cigarette is what it's called when all the poisons and shit are compiled together. And FYI, Alcohol isn't a drug, it's a chemical.

Marijuana isn't a drug either. It's a natural herb, grown wildly.

  • any chemical, organic or inorganic, that alters your mind is by definition a drug, alcohol is a drug

  • actually, so long as it affects your homeostatic balance (changes regular functions in your body) its considered a drug. medication, for instance.

  • You need to do some actual research dude.

Guess what... THC is the CURE for cancer!

All that crap you spouted is false.

Your a mess, you need nutrition to fix your health issue. Panic attacks are caused by malnourished people that don't deal with the darker aspects of their inner psyche.

Please, that testicular study was skewed heavily, don't believe the hype.

  • Rest in peace, Rick and Syd. We miss you both. Pink Floyd were a great band, weren't they? Roger Waters was and still is very creative, David Gilmour is one of the best at guitar, Nick is such a cool guy, and Rick played the keyboards so good. I love them.

  • I'm sure back in the day they messed around a bit with drugs, but I am pretty sure those days are over for them.

  • What Douglas wrote here:

    Douglas1102 (3 weeks ago) :

"Of course they do... at least McCartney admits it.

It was ridiculous watching Rodger Waters claim he had never done drugs with his "acid eyes" so dilated anyone could see something was wrong with him."

Is complete nonsense. Just complete nonsense. Grow up.

  • No... it's not :)

  • It is true the Pink Floyd still dabbled with drugs of all sorts. The live at Pompeii interviews clearly showed something had being taken.

Hey, even Rick Wright, R.I.P, had a cocaine addiction as late as 1981.

There is nothing wrong with smoking a bit of bud, I still honestly think David still lights up just for relaxation.

Roger used to say he couldn't take anything because his performance was terrible when on stage, which is honest, but still admitted to smoking marijuana on tour

  • on an island was co-written by his wife polly as well as most of the songs on the "on an island" album. oh by the way, he's 63 years old, what makes you think that a old man like david gilmour would be getting high at that age? Music doesnt come from being stoned, it comes from a creative mind and thats something you do not have. Pink floyd never went into drugs cause they lost a member to them and they were out to make money and not waist there creative minds on acid/ drugs or what not.

  • when was this programme aired?

  • i agree for purple but zepplin is still one of my fav but pink floyd my all time best

  • pink floyd's definitely better than both zeppelin and purple, but they're still really good bands

  • i agree, the other bands are amazing and have made some of the best music ever but they lack the deepness, the meaning, and the messeges of pink floyd

  • WTF with the DJ cunt?

She don't know dick about the Floyd!

    How did she get there?

  • David had an issue with cocaine, its documented in mark blakes brilliant floyd biography "pigs might fly"

Is this documentary available on DVD ? Was it ever on TV ? I love the wall and want to find out as much about it as possible

  • i think that the fact that they were so"faceless" is a testament 2 their talent as a whole, as a BAND. also whent along w/ their ideology, and feelings about being famous.

  • resivoir dogs!? i think that was tarintino

  • What I don't about Pink Floyd is that they claim that none of them took drugs apart from Syd, but I just do not believe this. If you see them interviewed in the late 60's or early 70's they look like they have been on some major sessions involving some seriously strong shit and I also heard that Ric Wright got himself hooked on coke around about the time of The Wall

  • yeah well of course they did. i mean everyone did in that era. and i still really doubt they did much. but syd was friggen rediculous!!

and yea rick right was on coke during the wall u can tell by the song "nobody's hom"

but he got off that stuff

i just doubt that the band was too big on drugs after syd went insane, i mean they CLEARLY cared about him

theres like932879038 more songs inspired by him.

  • lol yeah...they were heavy on drugs until syd went insane...then they kinda took it down a notch but im not sure that they've really managed to get 100% over it, even recently when I look at david or roger I sometimes think theyre still doing it :)

  • Pink Floyd comes from

    Pink Anderson

    Floyd Council

two jazz/blues musicians in the 40's

  • Roger + Syd = Pink

    Dave + Rick + Nick = Floyd

  • which one is Pink?

  • none of them is Pink, he was a jazz musician fron another different time...

  • 4 real!? naw, im just playin kid. i saw rodger last summer on his DARK SIDE TOUR. by far the best show i been 2(besides festivals) iv been 2 a few.

  • pink floyd wrote dogs

  • That DJ chick doesn't know dick about the Floyd!

    OMFG! Shut her up!!

  • RIP Richard Wright

  • I really enjoyed watching this documentary. I really think they could've got someone better than that DJ girl, they could've got Lloyd Fricke from Rolling Stone to do it, he did a better job in the classic albums documentary on Dark Side. The girl's comments is really based out of inexperience of what was going on. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, and The Who had their own thing going for them and what they bring to the table was something that an audience could enjoy and relate to.

  • You're just saying that cause she is a woman, you don't even refer to her as a woman, instead you refer to her as a GIRL!

  • do you mean David Fricke? i'd have liked him, too, but i think people like DJ John Peel would have been quite nice. perhaps journalist Phil Sutcliffe, too. as for the WOMAN who spoke, she has enthusiasm for it, doesn't appear in need of displaying a "cool" about that enthusiasm, and that's refreshing in documentaries like these. knowing all of the details is besides the point to me because if you're a person who has just heard Dark Side once, you're moved, not analytical. gush on.
  • Yeah David Fricke I meant I knew it was something Fricke, I should've looked it up.

  • i'm betting you had Floyd in your head when you typed Lloyd,

    right?

no worries about not looking it up ahead of time.

    good grief.

if i got called out every time i said something that was wrong i'd hide my head in the sand forever.

i just thought i'd mention his name in case that's whom you meant to say.

the name i wanted to recall but couldn't until today is the guy who promoted Dark Side.

i think his name is something like Bhaskar Menon.

he's in the Dark Side DVD Documentary/Making Of.

  • hahahahaha yeah that's the reason why, and the guy Bhaskar Menon was the guy that helped "Dark Side" get notoriety in the U.S.

  • RIP Richard Wright

  • R.I.P. Richard Wright July 28, 1943 - September 15, 2008

    :(:(:(:(

  • We'll miss Rick alot.

  • stop! you people are making me laugh my ass off. what are you thinking? havent you studied your floyd? except, dalebox12! very silly, you are nearly a laugh, but REALLY a cry. what are you thinking? contact me? you are too much!!!!! silly people. let me get some acid. ;-)

  • I cant believe they put this woman in this documentary, what the hell does she know about the Floyd and their legacy.

  • yeah wtf i mean she probably wasnt even alive in the 60's and 70's Pink Floyd. ok me neither but at least i'm not being all pseudo-intellectual about them. 20 trillion times more fun hearing it from the band members themselves.

  • led zeppelin and pink floyd are rock legends and no one will ever top them!

  • Lol, wtf... Pink Floyd is in like my top 5 bands of all time. I'm just saying: I'm awsome, really that's all.

  • preach on brother!

  • Crap i by accidently hit the spam button on CSNY68. I totally agree with you man. You cant compare purple and zepp to Floyd.

  • syd years are proto and post punk at the same time.

  • Pink Floyd is the most moving performers ever!

  • "theyre up there with zeppelin and purple" ...umm no bitch, sorry, the floyd is way better

  • Holy crap! This documentary has it rated M.

  • can someone explain me what actually the wall means?

  • the walls built between people relationships, and emotional blockade basically.

  • this documentary explains it.....pay attention

  • David Gilmour can play better than any other human being on EARTH!!!

  • I love you man

  • I think that sonically, Rick Wright is the soul of the band. His keyword always drive the PINK FLOYD is a sonic way.I mean, everybody always talking about David or Roger, or Syd, but Rick is the best musician on the band.
