@Rodan41rex Just got over done and boring back in the 80's and 90's and people stopped going to see those movies. So Hollywood decided to change things up and add new twists to make them more modern. The reason old style vamps had so many weaknesses was because the stories came from a time whne people believed they were real and needed reasons why they were not just wiping out entire populations. When they saw a possible reason they added that to the list.
